Thank you for the great updates, Matt. It is just a phenomenal race, isn't it? Great stories from all the fleet; character, endurance and speed on display wherever you look.

Damn every week review I'm impressed but this one and these conditions ... All of these contestants are completely insane! What an incredible performance.

Sailors showing snippets of onboard life is awsome! It makes you feel a little as if you where with them

I can't believe this isn't being followed by more people! this has got to be the most all around challenging, grueling and lengthy competition out there!

Matt, we are loving your presentation. Go Pip Go! Marvelous series, epic conditions and the daily distance traveled will make arrival in early January 2025?

Marveling at it all but how in the world do they, Burton's heroic efforts for example, make such major repairs with some confidence that the epoxies will bond/cure while racing in the low, damp temps of the southern ocean- all while under constant structural loads? I was really struck by the exterior stringers on the port quarter.
A competent sailor supported by a gang of engineers and mad scientists likely conferring on the SAT phone and guessing materials which are a little on the pricey side.🙂
This epic race and the coverage of it just keeps gets better and better!
    No other competition compares!

I try to watch a lot of Vendee coverage and still I find these weekly updates quite nice for telling the overarching story of the race ❤️

Amazing. However, I miss the times when the boats were sailed from the outside more. It gave a much better sense of the speed and the sheer exposure. Maybe the foil boats are faster, but they don't transmit this speed to the observer. Hearing the skipper say that the ride is rough or that they are barely in control is not the same as seeing it oneself.

It is good to see Pip is seeding quite well, but, given that technology has voided the race of true seamanship while they sit down below and watch the race on their screens, that is to be expected.

What a race; greulling but each sailor seems to know what to do if something breaks, or has some other hazard!! How they each keep going is beyond my understanding; I would have given up on the first day; but I am certainly not a sailor!!

How are these spectacular videos taken? A drone smart enough to circle the boat and then land on it?

AZ-Drag, Conarad, Z-drag! …Z-Drags aren’t magical drag queens that magically come to help you on your boat far from shore…tho that might be nice for some? Rather it’s a rigging technique used in mountaineering or whitewater rafting when you need to rescue something or someone.

Hmmm that’s odd - don’t think that’s anything we can do at our end. However, if you go to our website www.planetsail.co.uk and click the notify you will get on our email distribution and you’ll be emailed each time content goes up.

Sailors weathering some rough conditions: high winds of 30-40 knots gusting 50-60 knots, sea state ranging from 4 m to 10 m or more even, cold sea temperatures: 4-6 C. Some captains able to take advantage of auxiliary heat, others layered. At the appropriate time, make vitally needed repairs. Another transition Australia to New Zealand, and into the Pacific.

Hey guys! It would be fun to have a series focus on woman during this massive race. Since you are my favorite sailing channel I'm sending this idea to you :D Cheers!

@alangreen_za I'm old enough to remember Ellen McArthur doing this epic race without all this amazing media tech. I believe in this fleet we have amazing stories to inspire us all but you only get Pip showing what's up in English. And no, I don't know a word in French so from my point of view it would be interesting

Masochists 😅 sailing the oceans can be interesting and fun.. doing it on an extreme boat is plain crazy.. and the ridiculous rescue services have to come out and risk their lives when idiots want to kite surf round the world 😢

Try doing this on a 42 foot aluminum yacht with the front third of the boat in the air 45 years ago without all the technological substrates and marketing bullshit. You guys are a bunch of wanchors building yourselves into your own fallacies. GROW UP. YOU ARE DESTROYING OUR LEGACY. Either that or go back to the club and talk crap.
