The Nepalese and Western Tharu language song "Bahuni Chhauri" depicts a Tharu youth eloping with a Brahmin girl, challenging societal norms. Especially shows that a young man from the Tharu community chased away the daughter of a high caste Brahmin. The story unfolds with the Tharu youth taking her back to his home, attempting to bring her back despite facing opposition. The narrative takes an interesting turn when the girl's father, instead of bringing her back, goes to the Tharu youth's house, aiming to retrieve his daughter.
