One difficult communication acronym that I’ve learned through customer service is LEAST (Listen, Empathize, Apologize, Solve, Thank). Even when there isn’t a clear solution, it’s so reassuring when people hear “Thank you for allowing me to help you through this”.

Great advice! Instead of saying "don't talk to me like that", It may work better to say "I can't provide you excellent care when you are talking to me like that"

Yes, that can work as well! Only thing I would add is to ensure your tone is sincere, as that could come off as disingenuous or condescending with the wrong inflection and tone.

This is very good and helpful, thank you! Can you possibly do one on how to communicate with your supervisors and physicians/surgeons, etc? I feel like it’s a slightly different approach. Thanks in advance, great video!

Sorry for being so late on responding to this. I agree, the approach is and should be different - phenomenal suggestion.

Did you ever think, just leave the patient alone, I was in the hospital and all the nurses when they came in one by one seem like they just wanted to annoy me, when I said get out there was always an argument, until I said that wears my clothes and they stopped harassing me
