  • A story of one family's loss to fentanyl poisoning.
Naloxone, the active ingredient in 4mg Narcan and higher dose 8mg Kloxxado, along with many generic versions, can reverse an opioid overdose if administered quickly enough. Some areas have Naloxone available for free. Google it.

I send my deepest and most sincere condolences to Marissa's loved ones. I'm a drug addict who works on recovery every day. I last used methamphetamine's which was my main drug of choice was june 29th 2007. I relapsed pain meds in 2015 and got into a drug treatment clinic and my clean date is February 29th 2016. I will continue to work a 12 step program so I can live.

I So feel for you and others going through your rehab and struggles, me and my wife have gone through this with my son, who is now doing very well and has a wonderful job beautiful girlfriend and lives in a nice house, ....but all that means NOTHING. ....I worrie and pray for him everyday because of the demons that are hovering around him, I can only emagine how hard it is for him you and others. I pray for God's hand over you , to protect and guide you through this bad phase in your life, ...you can and will get through this, and one day look back and say WOW, I made it, and one day you will help others.
THE ONE AND MAIN THING I HAVE SEEN AND LEARNED ...you must remove anyone from your past that can bring you Down, and I'm talking about life long friends or even family members that think they are helping you out but still peddling with dope and others that mess with dope......there's a reason it's called dope. Blessings to you

It seems like anxiety is at the root of so many people who become addicted. I'm 70 years old and I've struggled with anxiety my entire life, it's a very unpleasant experience. When I was22 someone gave me a valium and it was the first time I was free of anxiety, it was a wonderful feeling. I get why people use drugs and alcohol.
I'm so glad I didn't let it become a habit because I know I have very little willpower. I'm grateful I hate the taste of alcohol. Any substance would be tough to kick, including over eating. We need to have compassion for ourselves and each other.

Exactly! We have an anxiety crisis. When cell energy is disrupted because of mitochondrial dysfunction it can manifest itself as anxiety, depression or a number of psychological phenomena. Yes, you can have a genetic predisposition to anxiety but we are doing everything in modern life to dirty our genes and have those problems manifest themselves fully. We eat harmful and deficient processed foods full of chemicals grown on depleted modern soils. We don't get outdoors for infra red light necessary for optimal mitochondrial function, we disrupt our circadian rhythms by viewing light and screens after 10 pm.We give our children an ever increasing number of possibly immuno-dysregulating immunizations, many of which aren't truly necessary. ( Why immunize all children for a disease they can only get if their mothers are addicts?) We also wire our children toward hypervigilance and anxiety and emotional dysregulation by plopping them in daycare centers at ages 0-3 yrs when they are not designed neurologically to be separated from their primary caretaker for 8+hrs daily. Then there are countless social factors that also feed anxiety. We are doing everything that risks anxiety, depression, and emotional dust regulation and along comes a poisonous drug added to anxiety meds sold on the street.A perfect storm.

Sorry to say this, but you cannot just use those wars to justify our action and demand others to heed our demands. They are nations with different way of living. We LOST Afghanistan, we only make the Muslim world hate us for our action in the middle east. Fentanyl was also illegally manufactured in China set up by the international mafias/cartel, our recent hostility with CCP has cause them to not care about those fentanyl illegally distributing outside of China as it is not their problem, they don't have to bow down to us so irresponsible mothers like you can play ignorance.
I think this mother is completely naïve thinking that eradicating the cartel will stop the fentanyl overdose, the Mexicans cartel was destroyed, break up only to create even more cartel. What we need is acceptance, we need to be more open on taking drugs rather than being forced to keep it a secret. Your daughters made a choice of not telling you about her drug abuse, it must has been something traumatic to start such activity. You should understand this, YOU FAILED as a mother, you must have did something to make her drug habit a secret. We have to be open about drug abuse, accept and help instead of shame. Drug shouldn't be illegal as long as the use is controlled.

But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death. James 1:14-15
There has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 10:13
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that you cannot do the things that you would. Galatians 5:16-17

this mom is a really smart mom. the second she found out her daughter was on drugs she shipped her away to a facility and only visited her on the weekends. she did not take it lightly and acted fast. her daughter was on sports again and doing great after that. I love everything else she says. im autistic and my biological mom is all over the news for being arrested hundreds of times. when I was a teenager I got lost in my own world. People could tell there was something wrong with me. my teachers, family, ect did nothing. in my early 20s I snapped out of it and became normal again. I diagnosed myself with autism in my early 30s. I saw psychriatrists about it and some of them didnt even let me finish talking. I've been diagnosed with schitophrenia, an anxiety disorder, some psychriastrists said there was nothing wrong with me despite my history of severe mental illness. AMERICANS ARE THE FIRST ONES WHO NEED TO PRIOEITIZE MENTAL HEALTH AND SPEND WAY MORE RESOURCES ON IT!!! it continues to get stigmatized and not even get addressed!! The mom is right there's a lot that Americans need to eradicate! other countries don't even have half our problems and surveys show people lead a higher quality of life in those countries. now we're having a fetynol crisis(among the zillions of other ones) and as the Mom says it continues to get ignored!!

I believe our president has a son going through addiction and he passed the law the first day in for the system to carry on with letting the people from outside our boarder gain access to stop the title 42 but our government had a judge like the red ppl had it stopped and want to have control to stop people gaining access to health care and education so now people will have no choice but to gain access illegal ways and they will bring drugs to survive and our drug problem will continue for ever and the government wants to kill us off especially the blue ppl we are trash to the rich ppl basically it's all bad and we should pass a petition to get drugs legalized and have it sold safely to of age people with true reasons at a higher cost not for free anymore and taxed to make money bc our country is suffering bad and going straight down hill. Plus if ppl had to pay regular prices to not die they would most likely not consume it being there's a chance they will die would denture them but the prices are very very low like one dollar a pill for a death sentence it's a shame it has got out of control and I'm worried for my own kids understand I have five kids and they have already been informed of these deadly drugs and I'll keep on doing my work to be prepared for the worst and hope for the best and may the women passed away from this death sentence pill and not even a drug anymore she may rest in peace and hope her family the most beautiful and strong sides to continue this fight and help rally the ppl to help to get this death sentence put down for good . And being the drugs are coming from China we should america stop buying good from China and put a stop to the government working with chica bc they are the real enemy not the ppl fleeing their country from the drugs and gangs who are lined up at the border with new born babies freezing to death burning plastic to stay warm this is not good for our future and I hope the president Mr. Biden runs again next yr to continue his fight to save this country and our fellow border towns like Mexico . Also last but not least America should become co existent with Mexico and we should be named americona and it should be we're all one country and the cartel needs to be moved over next to China so they can keep on doing what they do best . Just my opinion maybe I'm wrong but hell if it's never tried who will have a chance no I no us not anyone we all are suffering period and fyi COVID came from China if I'm correct so why are they allowed to come here ?? They should be banned not our ppl living next door if they gave us COVID we would have had it way back when the cartel first started many many yrs ago so do the math it's not mathing!!! And wake up we need to support our president and help him to fight the battle with Congress who truly has power basically and they don't care about us they only care of they money and they will continue to hurt everyone below and next to them. Alternate perspective: The issue isn't Fentanyl- that's just the symptom of the underlying problem. The issue is why anyone takes drugs to start with. What parents really need to know is what warning signs to look for that their child has a potential for doing drugs, prevention rather than trying to address something after the problem started or got out of control. Narcan isn't the answer, it's a bandaid on a gunshot wound.

Cartels run Mexico how they want and nobody can stop them unless us government tries to go out there with an army with out any Mexican government. Because even if they say they will help they won’t it’s just what they have to say on tv so people actually think their helping and stopping cartels. When Marissa's mum said that everyone should have narcan at home, I was shocked. Shows how bad the situation is.

    • @TexasPictures
      @TexasPictures  Рік тому

Naloxone is the active ingredient in Narcan and is also available in many generics as a nasal spray. In fact, the brand name Kloxxado delivers a higher dose of naloxone than Narcan (Kloxxado-8mg per dose, Narcan-4mg per dose). Naloxone can reverse an opioid overdose if administered quickly enough. Some areas have Naloxone available in the brand name Narcan or generic versions available for free.
It is important to recognize that Naloxone is the drug, Narcan is just a brand name. Whenever someone uses the word "Narcan" in place of "naloxone", they're devaluing all the other equally effective brand options and promoting a specific pharmaceutical company.

Sadly if she was under the care of a psychiatrist she would have been taken Xanax prescribed to her from a pharmacist and not being laced fentanyl pills..the system is to blame for not helping her get the proper mental health issue she needed.God Bless your family and may she Rest in Eternal peace. AMEN.

Because God is merciful I believe Marissa is in heaven today.
But those of us alive on earth should still heed the decades-long sage advice when it comes to substance abuse:
    "Best tip yet: Don't start."
"The pot does the smoking you're just the sucker." - and -
"Every dollar invested in prevention is worth a million squandered in multiple rehabs and destroyed lives." Especially when the addict has kids.

I'm so sorry for you loss. It's so true what you said that drug dealers should be treated like terrorist and there most be another way to give tools to teens and young people just say NO to any pill or drink given specially by new friends, aquaintances or even friends that had been acting suspisious. I guess we need to have more communication with our neighbours, be in contact with our community, know all the friends. Let them know dont trust NOBODY but your family that loves you. It's been said we need to make mistakes to learn but this type of mistakes take our lives. My deepest condolences to you and your family.

This Mom is amazing. She tried her best. She is correct, these drug dealers meds to pay for what they are doing to our children and be held responsible. What I love about this mom and what she is sharing, is that she mentions that her daughter needs to take responsibility and needed to take responsibility for her actions. God bless her for reaching out.

I'm very grateful my kids do not have an addiction problem..its always in the back of my mind bc we have many family members & friends who have family and friends etc w addiction issues...it's an awful thing.....I wonder listening to this if she breastfed did the baby have any withdrawal symptoms??? Just wondering. I hv seen these pills are being manufactured in Mexico at the pharmacy bc they're not regulated like ours. The dealers are selling them like this bc they get them so cheap..

Unfortunately, no one who is an addict, in recovery or not..is ever "cured" you'll always be a recovering addict. It can come back to the surface at anytime, no matter the clean time etc. You gotta keep working to stay sober! It will always be there! It's a disease that can be managed and survivable! But you gotta keep up the treatment, just like a person with a chronic disease, you're fine as long as you take your meds and do what you're supposed too. Some ppl relapse, most ppl relapse! Unfortunately that's when we lose so many! I'm so sorry for your loss!! Way to many have died of this pandemic. Too many, especially with naloxone available now no one should die. The biggest mistake addicts make is doing it one last time and by themselves smh

I will say this to all who are clean at this moment...when you understand that there is a God your Creator, and when you encounter His Glory upon your life Yeshua/Jesus will heal you from the desire the taste and the urge all at once. I can truly say this because on January 28, 2017 I have encountered Yeshua HaMashiach in my hospital room, and no I did not see God physically, but I encountered the brightness of his Glory it lit up my whole entire hospital room. I will tell you I have been walking in the Spirit of God ever since...my anniversary is coming up in 3 weeks. I do not live for self anymore... I have a new walk new talk new look, and a new way of thinking it is by the Grace of Yeshua HaMashiach that I am still here among the living. I have read two comments and I will tell you the truth, the enemy which is Satan wants you to speak like that he wants you to think that you can't get over your addiction and that God can't bring you through but if some of you don't believe in the Creator then you will be stuck in that same frame of mind Satan wants to keep you bound, this is not a coincidence that I came across this video with these comments I pray that you all will seek Yeshua before it's too late there are many different religion out there, but let me be very clear every last one of them are cultism. Yeshua is the Only way, He is the truth and the life no one can come to God on their own unless they go through Yeshua HaMashiach. Please don't let no one tell you different they will lead you down the wrong path and you will end up dying in your sins as I always say where there is life there is Hope for all. I am now living out my purpose that God has called me to do before the foundation of the world. When you make one step towards Yeshua, He will make two, there are a lot of people who claim to be in Christ, but they still live by the course and the ways of this world, those folks are called lukewarm Christian believers. I will continue to 🙏🏽for each and everyone of you, it is not easy on your own, but with Yeshua you can overcome your battle...just remember that the battle is not yours it is the LORD'S, and He knows just how to handle the battle, just trust, believe and have faith that God will see you through. Be Encourage and look to the LORD. Keep this scripture in mind 👇🏾
    #John 14:6 kjv📖
6•}Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

I had back surgery back in 2009 and got addicted to hydrocodone 3601… I’ve been sober going on 4 years this July 2023! I hear yall saying they need to look at this Opiate crisis as a 9-11 or a covid situation.. I just feel like it’s all about money, cops get paid when they find it on us.. lawyers get paid when they have to represent us cause we got caught.. a judge gets paid when he has to sentence us.. probation officers get pay when they have Monitor us…Prison guards get paid when they watch us.. and then rehabs get paid! I feel it’s all about money. So sad! They need to put a end to this!!!
