    Great to see more competition. Always better for the consumer. The DTU has a 3 year warranty. Envoy and combiner box are 5 year warranty. I find it interesting that MI's tout 25 year warranty and customers talk about that. But, they do not mention the 5 year warranty on the other components.

      Enphase biggest IQ8H's max production at 384 watts. Hoymiles rating is right 479 watts production per panel. For everyone looking at 450-550 watt panels, your max production will come from Hoymiles. IQ8's provide that sunpower backup, though, so that is nice. I would like to see both manufacturers offering an off-grid solution. Where grid tie was not required on microinverters. Then things would get very interesting. I'm not convinced it's the lack of technology more than red tape politics. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻

    I am going to have to cancell my inverter order. Amazon is blocking me from contacting the seller and according to hoymiles the seller has to create an hoymiles s-miles cloud end user account . Not going to wait until I get the inverter to find out I can’t activate it with out the a-miles account. More info is needed on this process if we are going to promote this product while at the same time Amazon blocks contact to the seller. How would warranty work. What a mess cancelling now.

    great valuable video, thanks. One question, what is the difference of HMS-2000"C" with the HMS-2000 ?

    • @JustinsProject
      @JustinsProject  7 місяців тому +3

      One difference that I found is that the C version on the HMS quad microinverters holds the UL 1741 cert, and there is no mention of that on the version without the c. I know the C version is approved for use in the United States because of that UL listing. Hopefully, that helps you out. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻

    Great videos, Justin! I’ve been watching the heck out of your channel. But the thing I can’t figure out is how to get an account to start up either Enphase or Hoymiles micro inverters. Both require an installer app, but don’t explain how to get an account to use it. I download the app and I can’t get past the sign in page. Could you help me understand the process to get an account please?

    • @JustinsProject
      @JustinsProject  15 днів тому +1

      I signed up as an installer even though I was installing my own system. Technically, I am an installer if I am installing it LOL! Both Hoymiles and Enphase have installer apps that are separate from their homeowners app.

    • @joefrommontana252

      @@JustinsProject Thanks. I was able to call Aptos yesterday and set up an installer account over the phone. I wanted to set up an account so I could check out the installer app and make sure I could start these up without a problem before I spent thousands of dollars on whichever brand of micro inverters I go with in the end.
      I’m guessing Enphase and Hoymiles simply require a phone call too to set up an installer account. I’ve gotten so used to companies refusing to engage in human-to-human interaction over the phone that I thought I was for sure missing something when I couldn’t just do it on their website or over the app. Now that I succeeded with Aptos and the guy talked to was so helpful, I’ll probably end up going with them. Their dual 400Wx2 micro looks like a heck of a value and pretty darn simple. I’d love to hear your opinion on them and maybe a video on their micros someday if you get a chance. If you’re taking requests….😁
      Thanks for your great content! You do a excellent job of explaining things in the detail that DIY folks who aren’t full-fledged electricians can understand and need.

      It should be fine but be careful with the voltage rise when connecting in series. That could be a problem.

  • @ruslanwel
    @ruslanwel 9 місяців тому +1

    In Datasheet I see "Commonly used module power (W) 400 to 670+" but on some sites and in your description I see "up to 640W" why? It's very important for me since I have Risen 670W panel :)
    I'm more than sure it will work but... is it realistic to get 2000 watts long-term and with what temperature...

    • @JustinsProject
      @JustinsProject  9 місяців тому

      In that situation, I would refer to that max output of the 1918w total. /4 that is roughly 480w (479.5) per panel. From there, you should determine the real-life output of your 670w panels. If you can find the PTC rating, it is much better than following the STC rating. My rule of thumb (not perfect) is 90% of the STC. So, for a 670w panel, realistically on a perfect day, good tilt, and so on, you would produce somewhere around 600w on those. Must quality panels degrade roughly 1% the first year and 0.5% each year after. Those are just rough estimates, but should help you determine whether these microinverters are right for you or not. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻

    Do these have any type of CT connection? With the Enphase you've got CT connectors and power export limitation. If these don't have CT's... then I guess you just export the extra by default without really monitoring it? Nice to have some competition, and the company has a nice product line up.. I see Aptos rebrands these as their own as well. But, I feel like they might be lacking in a few areas compared to Enphase.

I would consider the 6000xp off-grid, but do not have the means to do a transfer switch for off-grid without significant rewiring. All in all, my build is coming down to $5000 DIY with FTC, vs $15000 - $25000 with an installer. Amazing how much DIY can save, thank you for promoting it and helping others learn.
