You just nailed it. It has to be a lifestyle change not just a scale change

Thanks! I tried to be 100% vegan- and I couldn’t stick to it when the holidays came around. Now struggling to get to better habits. (Maybe not 100% vegan). Love the Blue Zones.

I'm also going to add to double everything you make so you have either leftovers for tomorrow or throw the entire doubled meal into a freezer bag to be slow cooked some time off into the future. This saves you so much time energy and hassle with future meals!

I loathe breakfast. I eat my first meal at Noon. I have to be up 4-5 hours before I eat. I start with greens then eat oatmeal with soy milk, chia or flax, some walnuts and fruit usually berries or I eat greens then vegan miso soup and an orange. I vary my diet over the course of a month and seasonally vary my fruits and vegetables.

You should have more views. Great tips. I am transitioning to plant base diet. I love cooking but I am finding it a bit challenging specially the replacing my meals.

I would love to see any advice you have for families with children. I have two children, both of whom are picky eaters. One is underweight and simply won't eat at all if the food doesn't appeal to him. He does love fruit, but unfortunately he will fill up completely with a single orange and refuse to eat anything else. (Literally, we are working with multiple doctors, have Rx calorie supplements, etc). The other child is also picky and doesn't like eating most healthy foods. I have to keep some junk foods in the house for the kids (especially the underweight one), and my husband likes to eat junk food occasionally as well. I'm trying really hard to eat well and feed my family well, but it is extremely frustrating to make a meal that my husband and I both enjoy, just to have the kids either not try it at all or try one bite and then walk away. So often recently, I've sent my husband and kids to go eat at a restaurant just so I only need to cook for myself because trying to make everyone happy is so difficult. I don't restrict what the kids eat outside the house, but I just don't buy much junk for in the house because I don't want it here.

I can’t bring junk in my house.
Also, I have to go cold turkey on sugar to stop cravings.
