To confirm, for charge offs from the original creditor still being reported: to wait for them to fall off once statute of limitations is reached, correct?
What if the original creditor agrees to a settlement and willing to update the account on credit report as “paid off for settlement” and updates the account to zero balance with the account still showing as a collection?
Would this be worth pursuing or make a difference?
FOLLOW UP QUESTION: What if a collection company agrees to a settlement for pay for delete but won’t send you a confirmation of the deal until after you make the payment, stating it takes 24hrs for the email to be generated and sent out- how would you handle this? Would you pay anyway
