The world is starting to open up again. I would encourage u to get involved in ur church if ur a church member, as well as other churches. Also, get involved with groups that have the same interests as u or some with different interests (community choirs, literary groups). Gyms, community centers, sports teams, Facebook groups in ur city, etc.
Tank is only here for the food and nothing else 🤣🤣🤣

I’m Cali born and raised and I still don’t like that we don’t greet each other. Everyone’s so laser focused on themselves. THEIR phone. THEIR car. THEIR kids. Rarely does anyone ever look up and says hello with true compassion unless there’s a huge generational gap. So keep being warm. Let others warm up to you!
JuVa, honey, you keep on being warm and sweet. Don’t let them take that from you. I’ve been to places where people aren’t friendly (aka - unfriendly!), and it wears you down after a while. But I’ve found that changing myself to fit in with that and just going along my way makes my spirit tired. I can assure you people still appreciate it, even if you’re “weird” by their standards. You never know who your smile and kindness might bless along the way. ❤️❤️

A lot of non-blk people in the work place dont even know that come with alot of microaggression and implicit biases towards blk people. That is what makes us 4x as hard on the job just to be recognized while the Non-blk coworkers dont put in the same effort.

I’m the same. I think my 40th bday was the onetime I said to myself a friend would be handy right now 😂, but that’s it. I’m good alone and I try to warn my kids to not to get into wasting energy on friends if distracting from your own life, the older you get the more overrated they get and they will fall off, the ones meant to be there will be. Friends take energy I need for other things and my peace.

I made friends with other West Indians in college and over the years, we were cool for a couple years after, but I shed them as I have gotten older.
I still have my core OG friends I grew up with in Jamaica since I was a kid and we are still friends 25+yrs later. We all over the world and we will call once in a while and pick where we left off.

I watch Angel vlogs and always admire how social she is and have so much energy to keep up with her friends. I was the same way in my 20s and 30s, but in my 40s I’m okay with the handful of true friends I have. Also, I do think Angel is a really good friend to have cause she seems very supportive, encouraging and honest! Interesting Melissa thinks Dani is her only friend since moving to LA and Kev is open to have all the others he named as friends. Kev and Angel appear to have friendly personalities and the people he name like Tab and Tobe seem pretty down to earth and friendly too❤️ Friendships take a lot of work the older you get in maintaining them; however, when you have some good ones...Keep them!❤️
