The music industry is a terrible machine. So what if they think sugababes are irrelevant or whatever. It's all about promotion. Nothing more. If they did a new album and it was thrusted into the forefront and they kept there edge. The music would sell, due to the promotion!. That's all it takes. The music industry decides what YOU like. Remember that people!.
Whoever made this remix doesn't seem to understand some basic concepts of harmony and tuning. The original goes from F# (7) to G (#4) in what seems like a Mixolydian ♭2 mode. Which is very very rare in pop music, as far as I know, and makes it feel so nicely oriental. Moreover, it sounds slightly sharp in it's tuning, probably sped up. This remix is going something like G# to Bb to F(sus2?). My brain, however, is protesting loudly against this level of dissonance, so I'm not sure. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong. There are almost no matching notes between these two scales though, which is an achievement in and of itself. Moreover, nobody seemed to be bothered correcting the tuning in this track, which makes the girls sound like they cannot sing.
Literally the only thing that matches is the rhythm section. The rest is like playing two completely different songs on top of each other.

that's funny this is your assumption. harmony is an evolving concept, and it's pretty cool to do some twisted stuff. I love it.

@@BenSimone Making this sound that avant garde is certainly an incredible achievement. Tip: listen to some Yoko Ono. She will definitely fullfil your need for atonal disharmony.
Like the old school garage vibe which plays honour to the original albums overall sound.
The vocals are not in tune and make it difficult to listen to. I'd have liked it otherwise.
They missed a trick by not putting the vocals and backing track in the same key.
As a devout, die-hard Origibabes fan, this was low key disappointing. It feels a bit out of tune? And it doesn't even have Mutya's bit.
I do enjoy the beat though, it's a throwback to my teen years with the old school garage vibe, but the vocals just seem a bit off.
Please, girls, we DESPERATELY want new music, at the very least some re-recordings of your biggest hits but with the original lineup. I want to hear Mutya and Siobhan on an acoustic About You Now, I want Siobhan on Freak Like Me, and Push The Button. I want all three of you on a studio version of New Year with your grown up voices.
Please. Do the right thing! For the culture...

This is like that fabled story of Aphex Twin when he allegedly did a remix for the Lemonheads and it was just an old track of his. They just slapped an acapella over a two step garage beat.
The original is girl group pop at its highest, disappointing

the premise of this was great with the uk garage beat and all but then i feel there’s too much happening, too much going on, sort of looses its cool and groove …. a shame!

I loved the Sugababes when they were bringing out hit after hit & the best girl band on the planet. This, however, sounds very amateurish & in my opinion is just a mess. Such a shame & a real missed opportunity. Please don't shout at me. LOL.
