Beautiful area. Praying they bounce back after the fire. Lol, I reckon I’ll be roosting soon. I’ve been eating more chicken. Today is pulled chicken sandwich with Carolina mustard BBQ sauce. Pretty darn tasty.
This video is from the day the floods happened in the afternoon. It added more damage to both villages--Ruidoso and Ruidoso Downs. Many of the first responders (state police, national guard, etc) have been staying in the hotels. Some people who lost their homes have rented cabins or hotel rooms. A lot of nightly rentals were also lost in the fire.
@cdmc965 they have asked visitors to hold off. The people staying in the hotels and cabins are families that their house burned or it was flooded. There are also crews replacing burned power poles, cutting trees near power poles, and other utility workers--they are staying in hotels. I drove through Ruidoso today and it was not busy with tourists in the village.
Rusty, you are SO right that it is HOT and humid in Texas right now, and the worst of it is yet to come. Right around Labor Day we will be baking 🥵🥵 Anyway, those mountains look lovely and You are living the dream my friend! Thanks for taking us along! ❤
I worked at that Schlotsky's over by the Allsups once upon a time. Im 36 and lived there in my early 20's. I sure wish i could get up there for a couple weeks right now. This Texas Metroplex weather sucks. I'd love seeing you drive up the Upper Canyon area or video the river. Thanks for the video Rusty, it sure is pretty.

Thanks for coming
It makes sense Rusty...you mean that you are not a fire damage assessor or enthusiast. I get it.
Good afternoon. Happy Independence Day. Thanks for the tour. I hope everyone there is getting their lives back together.

I thought the city has asked visitors to hold off as all rentals are needed for essential workers.

Nice day for a drive. Thanks for taking us along, Rusty!

I love Ruidoso. So heartbroken over the devastation in the upper canyon where we usually stay. Good to see midtown is ok. Hope you’ve had a good day!
Here.😊
Thanks for the pertinent info on Dr. Pepper .... You & Fred Mertz are the epitome of sexuality. ✔
So glad know Ruidoso largely escaped the gires.
Yes, those gires can be deadly!

Hello Darlene. I know you don't know me, but my grandmother was a Huth. She lived in Karnes County most of her married life.

Ruidoso has some really unique Shops
Grooooooo--aaaan! How was that groan?😊
good
Are you still happy with the Spark? Does it tow well?
✔️
I think you may mean you're not an ambulance-chaser. You are not out chasing the fire damage to film it. ha
It is very pretty there Rusty. I don't care much for the governor of the state, but that has nothing to do with a visit.
She's great. Finally doing the right things for New Mexico. A step towards gun control and keeping oil and Industry out of New Mexico
