    I got the Inmotion V11, brand new for $1,200 on Ebay. I learned pretty quickly, 2hrs 30 minutes inside the house hall way (holding myself with both hands) and then I went outside and began riding on the street. I scratched and banged it up a total of 5-6 times and still running strong. I can now ride it on the road after 1hr out door practice. Best advice I can give you... Don't look down, don't concern yourself with scratching the device or hurting yourself, don't worry about your balance it will naturally kick in, look in the exact direction you wish to go this includes turns too, your mind and feet will do the rest. Goodluck!

    I bought the S18 and started my EUC adventures riding in the pasture, dropped it a few times, dirt and grass, no breakage. However, what I will say is I have a injured back and there is no way I could ride in the field without suspension. The jarring effect would had me in the house in minutes and since I started earlier today I've taken it for multiple rides, very addictive! So, my advice is this, if you have any injuries or an aging back, think smart, you don't need to go 40 MPH and most likely don't need to go more than 20 miles in a clip, so the S18 makes a lot of sense. I was going to get the RS19 and yes that unit still calls to me but the S18 is a sexy looking machine, especially in black and its plenty zippy. It really is like a magic carpet going over rough terrain, good luck out there!

    Nice overview. I’ve just gotten into this after a year of people telling me not to and my only regret was listening to people telling me to wait. What a pleasure it is and also I don’t touch my car for short rides anymore. I got a V8f. I’m sure I’ll upgrade at some point but great for me for now.

    • @claudiablasi5520
      @claudiablasi5520 3 роки тому +2

      My honest recommendation is that if you upgrade from Vf8 go straight to Ks16X or V11. I owned a K16x & I love the higher pedals in this wheel because it prevents you more from kissing the ground . It also has a thicker rim which makes for better balance stability.

    I bought v11. Its my first wheel and I enjoy it. Own it for 3 months. My motherboard died on first charge and was replaced under warranty. I had to wait for it for about 5-6 weeks. Also wheel makes after some time and certain speed some squeak sound on every wheel rotation (not click like most videos shows).
    Overall experience is very positive despite it's heavy and maybe as most were saying not best as 1st wheel to learn how to ride. But it took me 3 days and around 3-5 hours to be able to ride without any support. I've started learning without air in suspension and lower tire pressure which IMO helps to learn. Also, I think learning should be split into 1 hour sessions per day instead one long session. Let your body process and recover over night what you've learned and adjust gradually. After each day I was surprised how much more I was able to do and with confidence due to muscle memory.
    I adjusted tire and air suspension pressure to my likening on 4th and 5th day. Experiment with that and don't follow suggested pressure guidelines. I like to have it lower on suspension then recommended to push center of gravity lower. Wheel gives awesome visibility not only due to superb lights but also because while on it one is very tall and can see above other heads and cars etc.
    Wheel is heavy and actually not so easy to fit into car. It may not fit into all trunks and may take the whole seat in the car. I'm looking now at V12 because I'd like to fit into car 2 units and other bags when going on vacation trip and it seems to be smaller then v11 but with similar future pack approach.
    For now I will stick with V11 because it feels very nice all around option.

      Motherboard and hollow motor squeaking issue has been known since 2020, it is pathetic it has not been fixed, considering you just bought is around July 2021...This is the reason I can't pull the trigger on V11, I like the wheel..but damn issues...😀

    • @michup86
      @michup86 3 роки тому +1

      @@noformstyle i
      I still stayed with V11. Did over 1000km. Ive changes suspension pressure to much hire 70psi top and 140psi bottom. Wheel is extremely good in woods and fields tracks. suspension with higher psi handles better uneven terrain and bumps. Tracks I usially drove in 20kmph now I drive around 35kmph.
      I've invested in seat but only to use it in stop so I don't have to search for a place to rest fo a while. Also, i put nylonove pads with honeycomb pattern which increased my tracking because there is no sand or dust stuck on pads. Finally I've also added power pads.
      I do around 40km track's now 3 times a week 10km on tracks and rest on paved road. Lights really help to feel safe on roads and are respected by car's. I mean they treat you better then cyclist's. I really think that EUC companies should focus on making lights more street legal and less focus on coolness factor. You need quality white car lights in front and red and stop light in back. They should also add indicators so you have better ways to communicate at night what you're doing and rear camera.

    Great video, thinking about a 16x myself for my first, didn't realize these wheels have gotten so capable, always thought they were more of toys. I'm 48 and sure it would thake a while to learn, but I've seen videos of guys much older than me learn to ride.

      Hi don't let "Age factor" interfere with your decision on buying this awesome machine, trust me you won't regret it. I'm a female same age like you a year ago when I bought my first EUC KSX16 It took me I would say almost two weeks with interruptions to learn how to ride it. The first thing that would help you on how to learn to ride an EUC would be confidence and being relax while riding it. If you get nervous or anxious, this would break your focusing and concentration therefore you must remain calm. When you start learning, try to do it in your own & have no one around you to distract you. Start by learning in a park holding on into a fence or wall so you can get your balance always looking straight ahead of you but try not to depend so much on holding on because otherwise you'll get stuck longer. Once you learn how to balance, let go from the wall or fence and start little short rides by having one leg on a pedal, but remember that leg also must be close to the padding support on the wheel while the other one is pushing up & down to the pedal from the ground similar to when you start riding a skateboard mostly like jumping on and off from that specific pedal until you put it alone with the other leg keep repeating this over and over remembering always looking straight forward & keeping yourself calm as much as you can. Once you're off the fence or the wall don't go back to it. Practice as much as you can & you'll get it in no time

    16x for the win! Wish it had suspension since it rules so much off road. In termes of speed wobbles and train track I find that I have less with higher tire pressure. Felt terrible at 2.2 bars, now at 3.5 it feels awsome, I'm the one who's driving it, it's not driving me.

    Great stuff Adam - I was looking at 3 wheels you mentioned as a first wheel ... v11 - KS16X - Nikola 100v ... didn't like bearing issues, top speed & no waterproofing of the V11, ... the 16x turned me off because of the below 50% battery = speed throttling you forgot to mention that KS does with this wheel, & also no waterproofing ... so the Nikola checked the boxes for waterproofing, good range (Marty got 60 miles/100 km), top speed (allows lots of room to grow into as a beginner), great speakers, RGB lights, voltage readout (66 is fumes folks) , trolly works great, can lift with one hand and activate cutoff, black pedals underneath, no night rides here just day cruising ... my dominant right leg is aching tonight after getting 100meters without stopping on Day 2 ... lol! -- thanks to you all - loving EUCs ... and for newbies like me ... Nikola is locked in the box ... power on, hold up on lift sw ... press pwr button 5 times .. release lift sw .. then power off and power back on to unlock ... saw Marty post that in EUC forums ... thanks Marty.

I almost want to get a second S18, so that I always have one charged up! My wife doesn't think that's a great idea, though... They can take a bit of tweaking to dial in, too. I think I need to adjust my axle shimming because I think I have some friction in my slider tubes. While the unit itself is a great offroader, the tires they're using on them could be better. Looks like you have the Eakia tire? I swapped out my stock ChaoYang H-5102 tire for a Japanese import IRC TR-1 in 2.75-14, which has a very similar knobby tread pattern to the Chinese-made Kenda K262 (that's the Sherman's tire, right?). Much better grip in gravel and the pine needle duff out in the woods here.

    • @brocmt
      @brocmt 2 роки тому

      @@ellestar2306 Not too difficult, actually, but I do like to tinker with things anyway. Problem with the S18 is the battery. Mine cutout on me when I was doing about 25mph uphill, battery well above 50% too. Broke my collarbone. Haven't been back on it, and I'm considering something with two wheels instead. The range was anemic, too, and while the molicel battery upgrade would reduce the risk of cutouts, it would also reduce the range.

    I don't understand why some wheels are marketed as "100V" wheels when that is voltage of the battery at full charge, while most other wheels/scooters market their voltage as battery on 50% charge (52/60/72V). So all the 100V wheels are actually 88.8V wheels (24 batteries in series configuration) ?

      The way I think of it is: If someone is going to steal your wheel, they don’t care if it’s mobile-locked or not. They’re not riding it away. They’re throwing it into a car or truck or carrying/rolling it away so the mobile-lock doesn’t mean anything.

    You've said that KS 16x is light. I googled it and it's super heavy at 24+ kg. This is unacceptably heavy. I'm looking into something that can be a replacement for my inmotion v8 that is very heavy, but manageable 14kg. Is there such a wheel or is v8 the only game in town?
    I drive at 25kmh and I feel most comfortable closer to 20kmh. I don't need a faster wheel, but I'm not opposed to higher speeds either. I need it to have a strong motor to handle hills, but v8 does it with ease, so I don't need any stronger. I would love to have suspension, a lighter model - closer to 10 or even below 10kg. And I would be fine with 30km range as I don't need more than 15km at any one time- but I like driving with 40%+ battery to be on the safe side. I'm driving urban exclusively. I've been riding v8 for over 2 years and I'm very happy, but I'm looking into replacing it within next 2 years. Any recommendations for today? It seems like all the new models are aimed at the higher end- super heavy/fast wheels that I don't care for.
