- Kris Kristofferson was a man of great talent and many experiences. He found fame as a singer songwriter and actor but always insisted he was most of all a writer. He was also a Rhodes scholar, helicopter pilot and West Point teacher who went to Nashville to write songs and then became a singer and actor who starred with Barbra Steisand in “A Star is Born.” Kris Kristofferson died on Saturday, September 28 in Hawaii. He was 88.
Kris Kristofferson - "For the Good Times" [Live from Austin, TX]:
• Kris Kristofferson - "...
No one, no one, no one has a voice like Kris. Loved him from the beginning. RIP beautiful soul. For the Good Times!
The greatest song writer of my generation. Can’t believe ole Kris is gone. One thing is for sure, his contribution to music will live on forever.
Of any generation
Listening and looking at him it's difficult to know he's dead God I truly think he's a legend
Great interview. True artist and freedom fighter. Rest in song, Kris. 🙏
Wow! That does him justice! That is the best interview so far this week. Plus he was so handsome, particularly at that age. Thanks, Charlie Rose.
I grew up listening to Kris Kristofferson starting at 7? years old. Daddy had classic early albums on 8-track. Love his songs still all up thru to ,"This Old Road" and "Closer to the Bone". Privileged to see him live in small concert in Atlanta. I will be listening to his music for the rest of my life. Talent. Brilliant Songwriter. Blessed.
What a beautiful human.
God bless him
Kris was such a HUGE part of the aura of my coming into my own days..Im so glad I lived the "hippy" era along with Kristopherson and his peers. What a loss, what a very sad day that he has gone on. Bless you Kris for just being the man you were.❤
What a great interview; I had no idea KK was such a charming man.
Then you've really missed out. One of the very first people I ever had a crush on. ❤
Thank you for posting this for us who loved him 😢R,I,P, Sadly missed but never forgotten KRIS❤
Great artist...authentic.. courageous and empathetic. RIP
Kris, thank you for The Good Times.
Rest In Paradise Kris❤❤🙏🙏
Humble so much that I doubt he ever truly knew the depths of love society worldwide had and has for him.
Why does it take someone's death for them to be properly appreciated? I'm 52, never realized Kris was the best songwriter in American history, by far, until this past week.
Was with full tilt after Janis died. Me and Jesse Winchester. Rip Kris. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 love Ramblin Jack too.
It's the amazing thing about this mystery that we call life. The Catch-22 of it all is this: you have to embrace your mortality if you are ever going to really live (and I don't mean breathe for X amount of years and occupy some space on this planet)! Most people (and I heard some of this today about very old people finally being able to enjoy life) think that life is somewhere 'over there' beyond their grasp but some day they will get there... That's death. If you can't find life in this present moment, good luck finding it down the road. Thank you, Kris Kristofferson for reminding us all about the heartache, joy, struggles, ecstasy, and blues that make life: LIFE!
He got sober during the filming of A Star is born, stayed sober too, yay!
he was so special a truly great songwriter
Rest easy troubadour..C U there captain..your songs live on in our memories.rest well.we love you ❤
it's a shame that Kris had to leave this planet before some copyright owners would publish their stuff... Before, they would block some good uploads with rare stuff that was nowhere else available. R. I. P. Kris, you were the best songwriter ever and your music and work will live on through your fans 😥❤️
10/8/24 Rest Easy Brother 💙
So shy he was, man could he write songs.
I put a Highwaymen reference in a video for the song Funeral for a Friend.
He led a very long and full life.
In my oppinion Kris Kristofferson's best song was Loving Her Was Easier sung by Roger Miller !
RIP Kris. A legend.
Wonderful, thank you Charlie.
Kris is my age and has the same values & patriotic beliefs :)
At the 10:12 mark it says on screen this show was from 9/18/98.....just sayin'
The Pilgrim Chapter 33. Respect.
What year is this interview?
I never knew he supported a cop killer. You learn something new everyday.
Be Cool n Die Young…The American Dream.
Is 88 years young?
It was 1998, the interview, seems a bit shabby to title it as 1999.
Blackie Buck
Kind of loafed his way through life, but okay star. RIP
Go ahead yourself and write such timeless works of art as he did, and good luck!!!
Certainly made it look that way.
Of course, he just played football, rugby, and golden gloves boxer. Recieved a Batchelor degree, then was able to go Oxford as a Rhodes scholar. Loved poetry, able to write lyrics out of this world. Won Grammy awards, became a movie star. Was offered a job to teach at West Point and could fly helicopters. Was a veteran. Sure go ahead and say he drifted through life. I'd say he grabbed with everything he had.
Plus he ran with the bulls in Spain and saw Hemingway
