I like how you start describing the power surge protector... I have seen many videos and none had this item.. Because is overlooked, many people have problems with static sounds and RFI/EMI interference.. They purchase expensive equipment to later find out is not working well simply because the socket inside the wall is not grounded.. Thanks for that!

A power surge protector is actually so vital, yet forgotten imo. So many times the power flickers and everything plugged in stays on and even has 10 minutes of power when the power goes out. Very helpful to save your progress and safely turn off your computer, etc.

I really like your approach to building a home studio on a budget. I'm getting ready to build my home studio / radio station so I found a lot of your info helpful. I had just watched your other video of your old studio setup before stumbling across this video.
I noticed that your new studio is more stripped down. I will check out the "yamaha HS - 7" reference monitors. I also noticed that you're not running with the two set's of monitors like before, why is that?
Thanks for doing these video's and I will continue to check 'em out and ask questions. All the best, Dennel

agree with almost all the components chosen, except the monitor (screen),
for the price, it would make more sense to get some 27" 2560x1440 (regular 16:9 ratio) as it will offer almost 50% more usable "pixel space" compared to that 2560x1080 LG you picked

6gb of ram is not enough for somebody trying to get a professional sound. The pluggins would destroy your cpu usage 16gb minimum and i7 processor. The laptop is the most important part of the studio. Asus rog strix best laptops in my opinion for music production especially because you can buy them used for the low on ebay. Plus im 90% sure all the rig strix come with the i7 processor and at least 16gb ram thats usually upgradable to 32gb. Other than that great video man love the setup

. I have had both audiotechnica ath m50x and the yamaha hs7's. I find the yamaha''s to be slightly sharp in tone and lacking in bass, and their tweeters are too directional. The audiotechnica's were great with an amp. sligthly processed, not super flat, but good enough for their price range. Not super professional in my opinion, more of a recreational pair of headphones. I currently own the genelecs a7. They cost double than the yamahas, but I got them on sale and the difference is huge. You can hear a lot more details more distinctly, their bass is deeper and more pleasing, but not boomey or overpowering. They are slightly warmer in tone, but not too warm. I got them for 1800 dollars instead of 2200, so that was cool! Also, slightly disappointed that you didn't cover acoustic treatment much...
