This is not only in Shreveport. Young people and all people needs to hear this. I totally understand and agree with you. This should not be swept under the carpet 🙄.
There has to be some consequences! We need to stop voting in our friends and longtime family connections!!!! We need an objective council that truly want the best for our city!!!!
This is why the city is in the awful shape it is in! The City Council make decisions based on their personal opinions and personal feelings and not what the resident suggest!!!!
I live in Metairie, Louisiana and just viewed Ms. Flemings' PUBLIC termination. NO personnel matter is handled in a public forum. Was Ms. Flemings given a letter of reprimand prior to her termination? Why wasn't she granted a private hearing that would have allowed her to challenge specific allegations against her? Human resources should have been involved. The Council has damaged Ms. Flemings reputation and employability. They violated procedural due process and employment laws. Finally, as African-American women, we should lift each other up rather than lead the charge to destroy each other. Shame on Councilwoman Bowman.
Unfortunately, Louisiana is an at-will state, meaning by law you can be fired without being given a reason. However, this really feels like she has a wrongful termination suit possibly. If she can produce evidence showing that it wasn't based on her work or complaints about her work/work performance then they won't have a leg to stand on. That's a hefty lawsuit. The fact there's no performance reviews, it's going to be especially damning if other employees have reviews and she doesn't. I honestly think this is going to come back and bite them in the ass and bad. I've dealt with a situation with a bad employee, not implying she was, but we had lengthy and I mean LENGTHY documentation showing the employee's insubordination, and refusal to follow rules. It was a CONSTANT thing and human resources recorded everything until they found enough violations to say the employee needed to be let go. I pray Ms. Flemings gets the justice she deserves and everyone involved is put to pure shame.
Mr. Lee raised a logical point regarding the issue of Raises. I wish he would have been allowed to finish his statement considering some of his time was spent by the council members comments.😮 Grateful for Mrs. Rodgers fighting for the community as well. Wished the photos presented could have been seen by all. Thankful for grass root advocates speaking out and keeping communities informed. All praises!
Oh this is gold. - how many tint meters SPD has? None. How many stops for too dark tint? Many. City attorney should immediately audit all the cases for the past 10 years originated by a so called stop for too dark a tint.
Boucher. It gets to that point because the city doesn’t care until noise is made. And even then, the city, if it makes a mistake and it’s made a lot of them re permits and setbacks and such, the city then hires an acting city attorney who makes a decision (which that position is not even empowered to make), and the city ignores the ruling of the zoning board of appeals denying the encroachment and exemption from setbacks, bc the city made the problem happen via combination of mistakes and odd relationship with the violator.
Sir you know nothing about the Cooper Road/MLK Community!!! That LoMart business has been an eye sore for years!!! And he wasn’t complaining when he sold alcohol to underage people and rotten meat and old groceries!!!!! I hope they tear your business down!!!
Oh. We wanna keep that part secret, huh? Soooo. Admitting all those stops that led to convictions based on too dark a tint were bullshyte stops. Audit that
I stand with Shanerika!
I hope she sues the hell out of them as a city and personally

God bless you Ms. Flemings.

You’re absolutely right Craig Lee!!!
He is 100% right.

Talifero spoke beautifully and truthfully
There better be a clean sweep of this board immediately absolutely disgusting.
Fire all of them!
Demand a legislative audit. Locals do local and they all protect each other. We need outside of shreveport state legislative audit. Period
I would vote for Jon Glover, she is speaking up for all of us at these meetings.
Profiling - must be discussed publicly.
Law suit. Get em girl.

Lawsuit
We need more people like Flemings!!!!
I am so proud of CJ Johnson. He is a true leader. Standing for the Gospel of Jesus.
It must be discussed publicly. It’s a public issue.
Shreveport is so anti business, it’s killing the tax money the city needs.
I love you Flemming
This city council is disastrous
Oh but ya had to flash your badges. We need more discussion of that as well. Publicly.

Yes it has gotten worse over my 47 years of life. We have to get Leadership revamped, not only on the council board but behind these Depts. As well
The Eighth Amendment also protects against excessive civil fines, as noted in Hudson v. United States, 522 U.S. 93 (1997).
SHANERIKA FLEMINGS🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥✊🏾

This is going viral on TikTok ! Just wait
Talk about it in public session. Not a private club meeting where y’all can shape narrative

This has been going on. The police department leads the way.
Council Jackson needs to stop smacking and or eating when speaking
Too many of them mumble
I think we found our new mayor and this city council needs to quit creating six figure positions to hire people to do their jobs.
Oh. We wanna keep that part secret, huh? Soooo. Admitting all those stops that led to convictions based on too dark a tint were bullshyte stops. Audit that
She didn’t wanna hear that she cut him off smh
Remove him as chairman. And using the “n” word? That warrants a resignation.
Why are you all engaging in this merry go round conversation with the chairperson? Respectfully, he should sincerely apologize and move forward!!!!!!
You need to tear the Lo-Mart down!!!!
Nah dude. You said what you said and it’s memorialized
If SPD is in fact racially profiling, sir, it must be discussed publicly. Not just for you
Chairman Gaslighter
There’s only a few, very few decent businesses in the Cooper Road/MLK.
SUE 'EM!!!!!
Then you are talking about the city of shreveport. City acts through city council. And no you were not speaking of this city’s horrific past
Why does he take up so much airtime. It’s the geeen show. I’m done with him. Done with brooks.
Wasted time
