I grew up watching Kobe. My father died on January 31,2019. Kobe's passing on January 26,2020 was devastating.

Girl I have watched this piece everyday since. It’s so refreshing. The second time you watch it just go ahead and do the ugly cry.
You're quite observant in seeing the emotional signs in Beyonce throughout this performance. In fact prior to doing this tribute, she wasn't even going to because she was still reeling in from the devastating news but decided mid way through plannings for this memorial to do so in loving memory of Kobe and for Vanessa. I'm sure she bawled through rehearsals and lets face, she's a deeply emotional person when she's performing from the heart. Heart goes out to you as well for having the ability to keep some semblance of composure during this reaction. Its tough but through music, we all can universally feel with you.

Brazil here! I cried with you. When I first saw the video my reaction was the same as yours. What Beyoncé did with Halo that day was incredible, without a doubt it is one of the most beautiful versions of this song.
I didn’t notice until you pointed it out but yes she got kind of emotional and you can hear a slight in her voice when she says “lights out”

The one and only QUEEN 🐝. She sang the house down, she was holding back and showed great restraint.
