In days of old, a name held sway,
With titles grand that marked our way,
"Mr. and Mrs.," a cherished pair,
Or "Esquire," a touch of flair.
Oh, how we miss those simpler days,
    When formalities set social ways,
    Respected titles, they did impart,
A sense of dignity to the heart.
"Mr. and Mrs.," a noble address,
A union strong, a bond to impress,
    In matrimony's sacred embrace,
A coupling that time couldn't erase.
And "Esquire," a mark of esteem,
Bestowed upon those with lofty dreams,
A sign of honor and noble quest,
An emblem of pursuits at their best.
But in this era, so casual and free,
    Titles diminish, lost in decree,
    Informality rules, a common trend,
Yet still, their absence we apprehend.
For "Mr. and Mrs." spoke of unity,
    Of partnership and domesticity,
Of love and commitment tightly bound,
    A shared existence forever profound.
And "Esquire," with its regal air,
    Ignited dreams and visions fair,
A call to strive, to aspire and rise,
To reach for greatness, beyond the skies.
So let us reflect on these days gone by,
And cherish the echoes with a wistful sigh,
For though we've moved beyond the old,
The sentiment remains, a story to be told.
In our hearts, we yearn for the grace,
Of being called "Mr." or "Mrs." with embrace,
And "Esquire," a title so refined,
That stirs the spirit, the soul, the mind.
For names hold power, in letters and sound,
They shape our world, in ways profound,
So let us not forget, nor ever dismiss,
The weight of these titles we truly miss.
