    Callen's point on the self-sabotage argument seems spot on. I never thought of that before.

      He does it with Brian, you'll never see him do that with Rogan. And it is annoying to watch. I like some parts of their podcast but every other episode they have an argument where brendan becomes very rude and douchey for no reason.
      I'm watching this right now:
      Brian: I think this steroid thing could be psychological self sabotage
      Brendan: oooh no you're wrong. You couldn't be more wrong. I'm telling you you are dead wrong on this just agree with me and admit it. Oh you're gona argue with me? YOU'RE STUPID, YOU'RE FUCKING STUPID IF YOU THINK THAT IM TELLING YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP
      This is what it turns into a lot of times. I don't get it. Who the hell are you to TELL brian hes wrong, you can both just have opposing opinions. I wish brian called him out on it some times too. It's really pretty rude.

    I very very rarely agree with the bashing on the schaubster. But in this case, I agree with them. I feel as though Brendan is getting quite close minded. He believes his way is the right way. He's not open for information or opinions altering from his. Bryan is the other way around adn thats why I love him. He's super open minded and may not have extreme knowledge in one area. But he's similar to me. We have broad knowledge about random things. And two areas of expertise for me it's fitness and MMA/Basketball and for him its comedy and acting.

    Also, a quarterback is not the most difficult position in sports. Goalies in soccer and any combat sports athlete are the most difficult positions. Most intellectual athlete is either a golfer, a fighter, or a goalie in soccer.

      ***** The quarterback's job is brief though. He only controls the start of the play and that's it. The quarterback's job needs the other players to be effective as well, it isn't only the QB who has to do the job. A goalie in soccer is always in constant threat throughout the game whenever the other team has the ball. They are the most important player in the game. To block a goal from athletes who kick as hard and as fast and as unpredictable as professional soccer players, in itself, is one of the most difficult jobs in sports.

    sorry guys just some constructive criticism. Normally love the show...Normally. This one started off a bit ruff. And by ruff I mean it sucked worse than your first 15 analogies. Hey people it gets better. Skip 15 to 18 minutes ahead and you will be happy before you just say fuck it n turn it off like most of the commenters. Hey to all u haters: Schuab played D 1 college ball, made it to the NFL, was on Ultimate Fighter, made it to fight in the UFC HEAVY WEIGHTS, Now a super successful pod cast and is selling out comedy clubs. What the FUCK have YOU DONE...

    so this is how callen buys a tesla car... by being on a MMA show and talking random nonsense while all the while know nothing about MMA.

      I think you have it backwards. Callen was established and successful long before Schaub came along. Schaub needs him much more than he needs Schaub.

    • @001mhu
      @001mhu 8 років тому +1

      he is established as a C-tier comedian
      THIS IS A TALK SHOW ABOUT MMA primarily. I mean, if you type comedy standup or something along those line in youtube, would you actually find Bryan Callen's standup performance? not really.
      MMA people, and most people wouldn't even know about Bryan Callen if he wasn't friends with rogan or in this show. Reason? Because we're interested in MMA. Which is why i don't understand he is in this show.
      With rogan, it at least makes sense. He used to do martial arts, have been with the ufc since the early days, know most of the fighters, know bjj and have been around the fight business for almost 20 years.... the fact that he is a comedian is only a bonus on the side.
      Maybe you have your forward and backward mixed up.

    • @ApexPredatorBoids
      @ApexPredatorBoids 8 років тому +3

      Now, you're just being completely disingenuous. He's done extensive film/TV work, as well as other projects unrelated to anything involving UFC. Your initial sentiment would be much more applicable to Brendan Schaub - he was a C-tier fighter who'd possibly already be long forgotten without his friendship with Joe Rogan. I'm sure Callen's also benefited from that same association, but it's extremely foolish to try to imply that Bryan Callen actually needed it to buy a Tesla. You've put forth weak ideas that simply doesn't have much of any actual basis in reality. Go ahead an have the last word. I suspect it'll be as pitifully unfounded as what you've already said; not worth replying to.

    Bryan is right. It's not uncommon for athletes who feel like they're done with the sport, they'll never get where they want to be so they look for ways to get out without being the "oh yeah that guy yeah he lost three in a row and retired cuz he sucked" Instead of "yeah he got banned and he'd be old once he could fight again so he just retired"
    I mean look at OJ Mayo a former NBA player. just got fucking banned from the NBA for being busted for steroids I believe three times now. He was never the same after he left the Grizzlies and he played worse and just wasnt himself.

    I believe the more Brandon boasts about the numbers the show is doing, and how WELL the show is doing, is actually an indication that the show is actually losing a lot of viewers and listeners. It's denial. He needs a therapist to sit down and watch several of these podcasts, and then discuss Brandon's issues with him. This is not comfortable listening.

    Also ironically Mike Tomlin only got that job because of the Rooney rule...The Steelers pretty much had their minds made up and only brought Tomlin in because they had to and the guy impressed them so much he got the job...

    1:50:20 - The question is "what does Dana white speaking at the RNC do for legitimizing the sport?" 1:50:25 - both of them looking at their phones. They don't even answer the question but talk about if it helps Trump or not. FOR SURE listen to fan questions or don't ask for them at all. Big fan of the show here, just a little disappointing because I thought it was an interesting question.

    I got this podcast recommended to me. Came here to hear fight talk and half an hour in all I hear are two not too smart guys talking crap about nothing.

    I don't think Bryan realises the amount of athletes that take drugs and easily pass tests. It doesn't affect them that other people fucked up, if you stick with a strict drug regime you will not get caught. Simple.

    brandon dosent know as much about fighters as he leads on. he fucks up names, weight classes, and forgets who won fights. and then tries to convince Bryan he's wrong when that isnt always the case

    Schaub is hardcore admitting to doing PED's here.
    He's just attacking Bryan's theory to make himself feel better about him doing the same.

    I don't no why people want to verbally bash Brendon and Bryan, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? Oh yeah, watching the show and criticising.. The show is great, they are different, and have different opinions. Brendon= fought on the biggest stage, has a successful podcast, doing stand up, and acting? Come on, look what he has done and is doing, and ask yourself, what the F_€k am I doing...

    Bryan can relate to EVERYTHING. He interrupts and repeats the same word of a sentence while someone is talking until he can fully railroad himself in. I LOVE this podcast but it drives me batty when he does this. One time he stuttered the first two words of his sentence for 30 seconds WHILE someone else was talking! Ughhhhhhh.

    I hope Brendan was not referring to Dion Phaneuf, which I do not think he is. He was the leaf captain during that time however I have a feeling that he might be talking about Joffrey Lupul from the leafs at the time. He got lots of poothy.
