I watch these people long before I "follow" them. I never followed her because I saw her for who she was during the DisguisedToast Among Us days. She had less than half a degree of separation from her Imposter and her stream persona.
It's rare I click Subscribe here on youtube from a single video, but I will however go out of my way to click through a few videos if I'm still unsure. Often I have to do this in the inverse after a year or two because people change and viewers like me can go separate ways, no harm no foul. I've unsubbed to Ludwig and XQC (both Hasan mentions) in this manner.
As an aside I ditched Twitch LONG ago, because we clearly don't agree on how to value my time.
Anyway, point is, even an enthusiastic and curious optimist like me can balance this attitude with reality and discernment and clutch my pearls in disgust so I don't randomly cast them before swine.

The comparison to why Charlie or XQC or other streamers would never get this kind of backlash always falls flat because XQC never tries to virtue signal and grandstand on ethical standards or fight against capitalistic business practices (whether good or bad). Don't forget that Poki and Hasan streamed Among Us with AOC and Ilhan Omar, two people who would see what Poki is doing in any other case as exploitative and unethical. But of course Poki gets a pass because of who she is and who she is connected to.
It's so funny how Poki and Hasan come off as the snobby, smug, condescending fat cat capitalist millionaires they always try to rail against while stuffing their faces and reacting to videos. I don't watch her content daily either, but every single time I see her pop up in some kind of drama like this, it fits her character and values. Something that always bothered my dad was people saying “just kidding”. He would tell me that some people try to use those words to allow themselves to be as mean and horrible as they want to be. Granted he was dealing with me and my siblings constantly trying to be as mean as we could to each other and when one of us got mad we would go “Just kidding, why are you so mad can’t you take a joke?” But his point still stands.
The same about saying "I'm sorry" as a reflex. Some people are terrible careless people and everytime they say sorry it resets the burden of guilt in their mind.

I think people watch "bully" streams because bullies are deceptively charismatic. We always think of bullies the way they portray them in movies: awful people picking on the innocent, who come from troubled homes or are trying to hide their shortcomings.
That's rarely the case. Most of the times bullies wind up being people who exhude some level of power and assertiveness and have it snowball throughout their life. And it's those elements that make people gravitate towards them, largely in part because they want to experience that power vicariously. Others probably just see them as correct since they're so confident and loud whenever they pick on someone, and they mistakenly think it's somehow just. This is especially true if you're young and unwise, which I think you mentioned a lot of Hassan's audience is actually pretty young.
Only problem with that is Pokimane's not really charismatic

People have a tendency to say mean things, that they think are funny. Because they think the thing that they said is funny, they then call it a joke. Their standard for what is a joke is not that they were not serious, just that they thought that it was funny.
It's a bit funny to me because at the end, Hasan goes in on how at least Pokimane isn't a landlord but doesn't she have controlling share in several properties at this point? Didn't she have controlling share of the OTV house at one point, which was literally being rented out to other people living there. If so, she was literally a landlord...

I don't think that she despises the poor as a class. In those terms, she's probably all for mitigating the harmful effects that poverty has on people.
That said, look at the image with which she advertises the cookies. She KNOWS whys she's popular, particularly with the male demographic. The dynamic at play between her and most audience members is one of physical attraction, and when working within the framework of attraction, women aren't into broke men. She's talking to guys who are mostly into her and who can't or won't pay 7 bucks for a bag of cookies. I'm not a fan of her, but you can't even fault her for the reaction, it's totally natural.
Not only does hamasan piker need to stop talking while eating, but he also needs to change his diet. He's been looking super greasy lately. For anyone reading this: I highly encourage you to drink 1-4 tablespoons of Cod Liver Oil per day, one shot of lemon juice, and two or more tablespoons of nutritional yeast daily. Avoid simple carbs and flour-based bread.
Eat red meat, fish, and plenty of veggies! Take it from a 41-year-old who spent way too many years eating poison.
I'd also recommend avoiding whatever hasan is eating.
To be honest, I think it's totally fine to price gouge your fans if you're a streamer. The wealthier folks will still support, and that streamer can still make money off less sales, while the majority of the fans will not feel obligated to contribute.
Likewise, as a streamer, and not a giant bulk-chain store, she can't exactly charge those discounted rates that Costco charges. Even if she could, there would be zero profit incentive in it... which is kind of the point. You can buy almost identical girl-scout cookies at wal-mart for 1/5 of the price, too, but the reason girl-scout branded cookies are more expensive is solely to support the scouts. Same applies for streamer merch.
I think this is totally a non-issue. Streamers sell t-shirts for $20 that are probably only valued at $5. Hell, bands sell merch hoodies for $80 that only cost $25 to produce. Sports teams sell $120 jerseys! You really think that jersey costs even remotely close to that? People are silly.

I think you guys were a little too charitable about her motivations for what she said (That she noticed she was price gouging, felt bad, and reacted oddly). She has had the same attitude as in this video over her entire streaming career. She's been called out on it often, but the "she's an oppressed woman streamer" narrative has too often won out. Usually the Simp White Knights are at the defense, like Hasan here, but that's why the community she has is as horrible as any other on Twitch.
