I think he still really misses carrie.... a full year after her death. I've listened to mark hamill speak many times online and I think he is one of the best public speakers... his story telling is amazingly intimate... it didn't come across in this press conference as much...
he didn't speak much here . Watch on UA-cam the April 2017 memoytribute msrk gives to Carrie. He sits in the stage for one hour alone and talks about her... it is incredibly moving.... I was really impressed

You've got these young new actors who has little to no experience of the business and then Mark Hamil who's had what? 30+ years of experience in the industry and also portrayed one of the most iconic characters of the century. "because he's not as talented as most of the other people on that couch." - quite ironic and sad. I'm afraid these "new" characters are very forgettable largely due to their bad writing. Well done.

You have to understand it was Mark Hamil and the OT cast that drove the franchise to how it is so big and popular today.

I agree that Mark hasn't appeared to be himself in the last few interviews I've seen him in and I also feel concerned for him now; it's as if age has caught up with him in the space of a few short months. Hopefully it is nothing more than press-tour fatigue.
On the whole, if there is one thing I have just learned it is that press conferences can make even the most exciting things utterly boring.
She was very articulate and interesting to listen to... and I love her English accent... lots of British actors in this... Finn, Rey , general hux is Irish Poe is Guatemalan/Cuban

I don't think Mark took offense to the 2 times 0 quip. I think that was the point he was making (hinting at the fact he was hardly in the first). Mark is clearly upset by what he saw in the screening. I think there was a conscious directive for the host not to ask him very much. He is literally the only person up there with any ties to the original film and they ask him almost nothing. He was very honest with his responses and that's why he is a legend.

Sell sell sell, unfortunately. I reckon the movie will be good, but like hollywood today, your heroes are independent of the associations we make to good actors and a good story. Don't meet your heroes, they behave sedated and catty, just enjoy the art for what it is. Enjoy Wagner despite his antisemtism. Enjoy a movie with Kevin Spacey in it, despite his alleged rapist tendencies.
I hope the cast are as close as they appear in the films, but with such a large cast they can't all be mates.

I felt bad for Rian Johnson because he spent so much money for this film but lots of peoples hate the movie...
I don't feel bad for him. He was arrogant and self indulgent in how he directed the film. There are many sub-textual digs at the fans in that film, and so much meta symbolism. Rian Johnson is not a bad director, but a HORRIBLE choice for this property. He should have made a Star Wars for the fans and for the wider public to enjoy. Instead he made a Star Wars for himself and Kathleen Kennedy.
Watching this after seeing the movie, and Mark is the only one I trust. His mood totally reflects the travesty that is episode 8. rip star wars.

Driver seems kinda bitchy in this appearance, like maybe he’s got issues with somebody? I can’t see any of them not getting along with Mark Hamill as the guy is so chill, but that was a weird thing to say after Mark’s comment.
Funny how extremely exhausted Hamill looks on several of the more recent conventions. Almost zombie-like in this particular show. Too bad as his other appearances are always very upbeat and entertaining.
