Because it's not actually that good a story when you get down to it. It's a sequence of movie pastiches that you get to play through. Watch Terminator 2, Running Man and Total Recall back to back, there's your movie.
the genesis one have more of a Biomechanical feeling to it, like an alien life that we cannot comprehend. Genesis one has more of a terror/mysterious tone, this one has more of a adventure/action tone. Both are good in my opinion.
A few years after watching my older brother play this game (Sega CD), it must have been the mid 90s, we were at a video game store in the mall. At the PC game section we saw a game called Fade to Black......look it up.
Yeah, the PC CD-ROM version is a lazy release, essentially it's just the old PC floppy version but with the FMV scenes in place of the vector sequences. The only way to have the CD audio musics on PC is through REminiscence.
Had no idea about this version. Only had the Amiga version myself. After listening through all the PC version tracks, gotta say.. still prefer the Amiga lol.. Biased by nostalgia I'm sure hehe..
I don't reckon it's just nostalgia, there's a real grit to those old 8 bit samples that makes it sound a lot more meaty, whereas this sounds like I'm listening to some built in demo on a 90s synth.
Out of all the different versions of the title theme (Amiga, SNES and Genesis/Mega Drive), this is the best version. And unlike the SNES and Genesis/Mega Drive versions, this one stays true to the original Amiga version, but expands it. Kinda like Zelda: Four Swords Adventures, where it takes A Link to the Past's soundtrack and expands upon it. Also, is it bad to say that I only know of this track because of the flash game "Tails' Nightmare"? Kinda makes sense really, as the Sega/Mega CD and Sonic are both owned by Sega.
The Amiga version, despite being released first, is a port of the Genesis version. That's word from the director himself, the original version is the Genesis version. The reason why the Amiga version came first is because on consoles, games have to be approved first for release by the console maker, and it takes a while, but there's no such thing for computers.
One of the GREATEST games and soundtracks ever!! :D
the golden amiga era gone but cant be never be forgotten
This was such a joy playing this on Sega CD when I was young, I was one of the few
Still easily one of my favourite game soundtracks ... game was just as good too ... amazing experience
Flashback - Why doesn’t exist a movie of this fantastic story

TheTurnipKing Thanks! Runningman is an amazing movie. But the story of flashback would be nice for a tv show
When I played this game, I imagined Conrad as Harrison Ford, so the movie Blade Runner feels very similar to the game.
it's more suitable for a tv series
Deus Ex before Deus Ex.
This theme is used for Tails Nigtmare 1 & 2
i played those 2 only once this year and i felt nostalgia!
Same! I enjoyed playing Tails' Nightmare 1 & 2 when I was 11 (since 2017).
Never played the Sega cd version, only the genesis, love the the sega mega drive sound, but this is a very good rendition.
TAILS NIGHTMARE
Finally someone mentions that game I love it
I was playing at that shit when I was 5
Such memories
@@pingusupremacy6006 Oh yeah, me and the creator still talk to this very day. Such a nice guy.
@@rachaelrandomassname1848 I thought you meant God, but OK!
That would be a perfect story for Netflix, to produce a tv show
honderd procent tottally agree aaron ackheart would be perfect
I would watch it 24/7
Naah, the story itself is pretty generic. The gameplay - this is what made this game standout back then, not the plot
It's Life ...
...when you think you hear an intruder in the house... or when you sneak through the house to get food...
I've never noticed that it sounds like Vienna by Ultravox before today.
this game is basically if Amnesia and Star Wars had a baby
the genesis one have more of a Biomechanical feeling to it, like an alien life that we cannot comprehend.
Genesis one has more of a terror/mysterious tone, this one has more of a adventure/action tone.
Both are good in my opinion.
genesis has zero music ingame - sega cd version play all the time adding so much to the game.
Keep thinking he is Seth Green
Was thinking Marty McFly, myself.
Looks like a young Paul Riser
Tails Nightmare...

Hoo boy was that game disappointing.
Nice. Does anyone have the original CD soundtrack? There was a limited release for this haven't been able to find it.
I uploaded some of it (the first track seems to have two versions, too...)
@@LuigiBlood I have the two tracks in 192kbps MP3, apparently there are more tracks and I'd prefer flac, maybe JZetec can pull through on a copy.
@@Ryrynz2000 Well if you find FLACs I'd be interested.
Awesome!
Breh you could have just ripped this from yt and converted it to an MP3
Get the Sega CD ISO, it's a way better idea.
So there's no cd audio music in the PC cd-rom release? It sounds like mod music outside of cutscenes in that one

Wow this totally blows out the amiga version!
its sure does

@@LuigiBlood Oh! Interesting.
three out of this world fans not like this ost kkkkkk
Is it possible to download this ?

Not from a Jedi
Sounds like early 90's Tangerine Dream & Christopher Franke.
Amiga 500 version is still the best version of this song.
Music from Amiga version was much better.
This is God's entrance music
