- We compared 2023 New Hyundai Verna with its major competition, the Skoda Slavia. Here features along with safety features are compared, interior and build quality are compared and mainly when we seated 3 people at the back, comfort is compared! Enjoy the video

One important feature (missed in video) which Slavia has over Verna is the 60:40 split rear seats which can be folded, quite unique for a sedan.
Both are quite fierce competitors, based on the factors shown in this video, which one would you pick between these 2 and why, comment down below 👇
Verna Turbo MT is more value for money.
Slavia ground clearance 179 mm....for me this is the reason to pick Slavia plus 5 star rating.....
Valid points 👍
Koreans learning from the competitors and how Indian customer thinks about the product touch and feel.
Exactly 💯
Ultra bol diya.Slavia look like a rip off of 2018 Elantra
Lmao Koreans were the ones who improved Indian car market with Maruti in the 2000's and you think they be learning from competitors about the Indian market🤣🤣
@@Adwatismyes man these kids don't know anything they are just fans 😂
Verna is fire🔥🔥 interms of looks, power, feature, design…specially this red one is out of the world
True, this color looks dope af
well that is why i rejected verna and bought skoda slavia.. reason at speed 80+ these features don't help and driving control of slavia is much much better then verna..
@@ShobhitTechVideo bro 80+ ko hi gadi control nahi hoti kya😀😀 & sab kuch gadi pe depend nahi hota khud me bhi koi driving skill honi chahiye. These are premium cars
@@yogeshverna4706 jab tak tum khud drive nahi karoge .. tumko samaj nahi aaega.. i can't comment.. only after driving both you will feel big difference..
@@ShobhitTechVideo ok bro👍🏻
Purchased slavia 1L and proud of her look, build and milega
Congrats 🎉
What is milaga in city bumper traffic and highway
Worst selling car in the segment gentleman 👏🏼👏🏼
Slavia feels very planted and assuring while the brakes and suspension and ride handling had always been a concern for the Hyundai. It is interesting to note Hyundai tunes their diesel cars more good than the petrol ones.
True earlier but the new age turbo petrols from Hyundai are better than previous gen 1.2 and 1.6. Also, looks like Hyundai has worked on brakes and I felt they are much better in Verna than Creta/i20 etc.

I think in safety point of view
Slavia is much more appreciable
Driving & dynamics also showing class differences between jarman & Korean 😂😢😅
Great video! Škoda interiors doesn’t make you feel the money you have paid. Definitely I will go with Verna
Verna turbo in red is on another level.
Attract a lot of eye balls on road 🔥
@@DriveShrive More than BLACK ?
Slavia is a entry level car for skoda where as verna is a mid premium segment car for hyundai , so quality will definitely be good nad upmarket in hyundai , and they have a record of giving such premium quality since decades.
White verna interior looks better and more open.
Open- Yes , better - personal taste!
Verna always deserves a better engine to justifies its legacy first it gets the better 1.6D
And now the actual beast 1.5 Turbo with proper manual and better tuned DCT.
Bro Verna adaptive headlamps hai just XUV 700 80 ki speed ke baad illumination increase hota
True that, the 1L turbo which the earlier gen had didn't justify it's image or the price tag but its a bummer they lost the diesel unit here. 😢
@@DriveShrive Greta Thunberg is the main culprit for that😅
GNCAP safety rating for Slavia is 5 star for Adult and child safety. India's most safe car. Its pick top place in safety rating. I hope Verna atleast get 3 star.
5 star both adult and children, plus adas
Verna truly obliterating the segment 😳🔥🔥‼️
Verna 2023 now comes with ESC and 6 airbags from base EX model onwards. This is as per latest feature list on their website.
Yes, looks like they were listening to the feedback 😄
And 5 Star saftey rating ‼️🌟
Skoda is always best as compared with Hyundai
not in case of slavia
Slavia ne Sedan ko utha diya hai ❤
Yahi to khoobi hai competition ki ♥️
Slavia is best ❤
Slavia look is timeless and more solid.
True. Mentioned in the video 🙃
Also 1.5 non turbo engine is less powered compared to Slavia 1 Ltr turbo.
@@GopalShrote true. Some prefer power and some prefer smoothness. Different people have different tastes. ♥️ Subscribe for upcoming videos 🙃
There is no body rusting in Slavia in long run.
I had Verna, I sold it because of heavy body rusting.
Slavia is a new car, will let you know long term body rusting after 5+ years
Is the rear seat really uncomfortable for 3 people in slavia ?
No, if those people are skinny adults or children
Jo interior verna ka itna badhiya lag raha hai
Woh accident ke time chhati mei aa jayega
Dashboard ke scratch body ke cracks se better hai 😌
Haha jokes on you 5 star rating Verna🤡🤡
@@Adwatism thats good that it got 5 star
It was unexpected
Correction please, Esc is standard in all variants of Verna, including the base variant..
No, it's not. Check the base EX variant
Now Verna is looking good
Although Hyundai presented the 2021-22 Verna with a 1.0L Turbo Engine as a high-end option (ex-showroom at INR 16.5L+), they opted not to include it in the 2023 Verna model. Instead, they maintained the older and more affordable 1.5L Naturally Aspirated engine to achieve a lower price point. In contrast, VW and Skoda have chosen to equip their Virtus and Slavia models with the latest turbocharged engines, featuring a more powerful 1.0L Turbo Charged engine starting from their base variants. This positions them at a similar price level as Hyundai's models with older technology naturally aspirated engines.
To make their older engine technology more appealing, Hyundai has incorporated a few attention-grabbing features to mask this fact. When the Slavia and Virtus were launched, there was a marketing campaign suggesting that the 1.0L turbo engines available were inadequate, conveniently overlooking that Hyundai and Kia have also offered comparable, albeit less powerful, 1.0L turbocharged engines in their top-tier models.
Offering 1L in Verna was a blunder they corrected this time and by localising the 1.5 turbo engine here, they made the deal even better in terms of long term use (parts availability, service cost etc). Bdw, people have different tastes, some like thrummy 3 pot engines, some don't like the unrefined feel (shown in video) and there's no contest between both in terms of long term reliability where big NA engines excel ( Japs like Honda and Maruti prefer those). So, there's a market for every type of buyer in sedan segment which is an awesome thing right now 💯

@@DriveShrive While Hyundai's decision to offer a 1L turbocharged engine in the 2021-22 Verna was a mistake due to its high price of 18-19 lakhs, not retaining it in the lower variants of the 2023 Verna is another misstep. Instead, they have opted to overprice the older, less powerful 1.5L naturally aspirated engine by 2-3 lakhs, which was previously available for around 9 lakhs. Indian customers deserve the latest technology, but Hyundai has tried to mask the older engine tech by adding a few gimmicky features.
We're currently seeing a shift towards turbocharged engines among all brands like Tata, Mahindra, Hyundai, Renault, Nissan, and even Maruti with the Fronx's 1L turbocharged engine. The VW Group has already transitioned their entire lineup to turbocharged engines, and luxury brands have long shown a preference for these engines over naturally aspirated options. Japanese manufacturers like Honda and Toyota offer turbocharged engines in other markets but have held back from introducing them in India, possibly to keep costs down.
Naturally aspirated engines are predominantly found in cars priced under 10-12 lakhs. Given the rapid shift towards turbocharged technology, choosing older NA engines in 2023 for use until 2033-37 might not be the most future-proof option.
Moreover, claims of high NVH levels in Slavia's 1L engine and owner complaints seem unfounded, as no such concerns have been reported. The cabin remains remarkably quiet even without Skoda's recently introduced underhood insulation.
Claims unfounded? The guy showing interior rattles and engine noise is "The Owner" of Slavia, so thankfully I meet actual owners and do not type cooked information sitting at home in fancy words. 🙃
@@DriveShrive It's quite apparent that the same diligent effort is put into reading and responding to comments as is dedicated to creating and uploading videos. It's amusing how comments about the lack of NVH are seemingly intentionally confused with interior rattles. It's also entertaining to witness the laborious efforts made to undermine the already modest number of viewers, while simultaneously depreciating your own value by assuming that the channel's audience consists solely of idle individuals idly twiddling their thumbs at home.
Great Decision by Hyundai by not offering the 1.0 turbo engines like Vw/Skoda........Have you ever driven the 1.0 turbo engine of Slavia in heavy traffic huh? The huge Turbo lag in the city plus the Vibration and 3 cylinder engine noise ruins the whole experience of Driving plus the Reliability of 3 cylinder will be Pathetic in long run
Now drive the 1.5 NA engine Verna in heavy traffic......No Lag in initial No Vibrations no Engine noise coming in nice NVH levels which makes the driving experience Calm instead of frustating in heavy traffic Plus no issues in Reliability in long run which makes 1.5 NA engines far superior than 1.0 Turbo
Actually Skoda/Vw used the 1.0 L engines to achieve a "lower price point" and match it with competitors......Instead you are accusing Hyundai that they are offering old 1.5 NA Tech to cut price bruhhh 1500 cc engines have more tax than 1000 cc engines Such a STUUPID IDOTIC CLAIM by you🤡🤡
Go do some research about Slavia 1L problems before yapping "Claims Unfounded" here and get out of your DELUSIONAL WORLD.......Naturally Aspirated engines are far superior in terms of Reliability and comfort convenience.......1.5 Turbo is the best in performance and insulation instead of 1.0 L in a big car like slavia or verna
Bbai ek bat janni thi driwing mode aane se stering weight mai fark padta hai kya???

Ok ok review buddy but all the best. This is the way how we improve.
Thanks for the suggestions. Iska uska was done as the cars are right in front and average is covered in separate videos of Verna DCT and IVT. Please watch those for in-depth information and for all practical purposes, boot space is exactly the same

whats your height !
BTB i would prefer Slavia / virtus anytime over the current Hyundai !
I liked the older gen verna, not the current one.
BTB i own a slavia .
Design is subjective, the slavia's 2 spoke steering is nicely put compared to the verna's . something is off with the 2 spoke steering of verna!
Height is 6, I have mentioned in the video and yes, steering design is off, I have mentioned this in both of my Verna reviews. 🙃
Safety gayi tel lene..🤣
Have you seen the entire video? 🤔
If you see the comments sections..there is not a single comment on safety which tells the sentiment of Indian customer and also line of thoughts after your video.
Have you watched the video or not? I am sure you didn't and commented without listening to what I said in it. 🙃

Verna
Still Slavia wins over Verna bhai German car hai koi muqabala nhi hai kisi bhi cheez ka..Aaj ki SUV ki market main bhi jo takkar le rahi hai…Slavia ne fir se sedan Ko promote kia hai aaj ki SUV segment main…
That's true. Ground clearance is a main highlight that drives sales from compact SUV segment. Perfect 👌🏻
@@DriveShrive Slavia is a solid car and Verna is not as much as solid. The maintenance or service wise slavia is less costly compared to Verna. Also,Hyundai cars burn hole in an individual pocket when it comes to maintenance.Ground clearance of Slavia is more than city, ciaz,Verna.
