LionKnight610 and I agree, this song is very emotional. When I finished ds2 I was sat listening to this the whole way through the credits in silence. Amazing song
When i finished the game, I felt so exhausted as I softly asked myself "I finished it..?" And my friends just chuckled and said "nice" without even knowing what I've been through. I wasn't speed running it, I wanted to experience everything as much as I can, carefully treading through Aldia's Keep, challenging wyverns, dying again and again from the Throne Duo, almost lost my mind in the Blighttown 2.0, fought countless strong enemies, been invaded countless times. In short, I've been through so much hell, but this song is enough for me as a reward :)
And it's nice to know that there are still people playing and enjoying DS2, I just got my brother to start playing DS2 and he's making faster progress than I have in my first try
This is exactly how I like to experience these games (because that's what they are, mainly, experiences), I finished DS1 and almost finished DSIII, but I plan to eventually play DSII and Demon's Souls. Greetings from Argentina, from someone who also enjoys these games a lot. \[T]/
This is how I always feel after beating any of the 3 souls games especially 1. Gwyn's theme always has a special place in my heart cause it was the first game I played. Now I'm just waiting for Elden ring witch look really good
Life's but a walking shadow; a poor player, that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more: it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. - William Shakespeare
DS2 has serious Macbeth vibes. A king corrupted by the influence of dark magic and the manipulations of his wife, restless spirits and ghosts of old heroes betrayed wandering about, the three Firekeepers in the beginning heralding a grim and uncertain destiny for our hero much like the weird sisters did for Macbeth. There's even a character named McDuff in this game!
This will be the song I have for my funeral. This song means that I have reached the end of my long, hard journey and me new journey in the afterlife will begin. If the afterlife is harder, I welcome the challenge, because I have made it this far in life and I'll be ready for whatever comes my way in another life.
I was gonna record the ocean in Majula today while placing this song on it, and then I get this in my suggested feed lol, guess It's already been done xD Such an amazing song man
just beat ds2 (new to souls and I left ds2 for last because everyone said it was bad) and after all the pain, unnecessary bullshit and rage, I found this fucking beauty of a song
This game not trying to be a sequel to 1, and also is not trying to be a pack of full fanservices and references like 3. And is not about a undead chosen or ashen one must save the world and mantain god's tradictions. Its about a personal journey with one hollow (you) must save yourself, who you are and what you need to do be the free of this infinite chain of curse and vendrick got the answers
After 4 years since i first played Dark Souls 2, my first Dark Souls. Yes, it's the worst game in the series, however, looking back, i keep the respect or affection as the little brother among all who had incredible potential, gave everything of himself, but unfortunately he failed to catch up with the others. I keep you with affection for filling me with mystery and begin to immerse myself in this universe Dark Souls 2, i hope one day someone will be able to make you as majestic as you could have been, over time, with enough care, and the warmth you lacked.
Yeah, I agree with you with that but it’s really a mixed bag, aside from the others that are all really good, you have ds2 with forgettable tracks but then you get The majula, fire keepers and the best one in the series IMO, longing
Dark Souls is absolutely classic, but I don't care what anyone says; Dark Souls 2 is an unparalleled *journey*.
Ciao Michele, buon lavoro!
Mi hai rubato l'idea haha
Spettacolare ahahahha
ds2 is simply master piece
"One is clearly a masterpiece, the other is clearly the master's piece."
See, I love 'The Nameless Song' (Dark Souls 1), but this song almost brings tears to my eyes. 😍
LionKnight610 and I agree, this song is very emotional. When I finished ds2 I was sat listening to this the whole way through the credits in silence. Amazing song
I have to say Longing is my favourite Souls end theme. DS1 has my favourite Menu theme
A rare case of an OST that you really can listen for 1 hour.

It’s calming to know that there are others out there who to realise the weight of the journey we have all been on

The first time those credits rolled in, and the song began, I cried a little.
When I think of the dark souls trilogy, this ost comes to mind!

@@silversnail1413 yoo that's very incisive!
@@silversnail1413 Maybe the best way to interpret the story.

@@badassjorge9272 sure man I gotcha, his ost is a real tear-jerker
@@eldritchhollow7692 Yeah, espically when your whole life flashes before your eyes
Still the best Soulsborne game after all these years. Respect.
Not the best by any means but still an amazing game
Yesterday I beat this game for the first time. I closed my eyes, recalled those painful memories playing this game and enjoyed this music.
the start is just perfect. feels me with happiness.
best game I ever played
This bgm brings up the emotion of thank you for existing
This game might be the very few meaning of my life
I don’t which is better this or PLING PLING PLONG, however this gives a sense of hope and wonder, Gwyn’s theme is more like a story
La genesi di un grande creativo.
Amazing work from Motoi Sakuraba. He's also the person who made some BGMs for Valkyrie Profile games

Best dark souls song
just beat ds2 (new to souls and I left ds2 for last because everyone said it was bad) and after all the pain, unnecessary bullshit and rage, I found this fucking beauty of a song
The exaggerated physical manifestation of "Now what?" emotion
*The longing of a fadeing light*
Thanks...
This is the song that plays at an extremely pivotal part of a movie.
Been looking for this and finally find it thank you!!!! I'm subbing to ya!!!

I had my issues with DS2, but by damn, if that view isn’t incredible.
oh my god I love this video
this would be a perfect wallpaper
This song get me love and cry 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Que hermosa musica! y hermoso juego
thank you dark souls
Ciao Sabaku, so che sei qui
This actually sounds pretty good if you speed it up a little.

Ciao Michele buca di peppo
Unfortunately I think DS2 has the weakest soundtrack in the series, but this is a really great track!
yeah, i can't remember much tracks of bosses, but damn longing is so good
I think it has the strongest soundtrack, especially the calmer tracks like Majula and Fire Keepers. The game is mediocre, however.
