  • Not to be confused with the stiff-legged deadlift, the Romanian Deadlift starts at the top and uses a stretch reflex. Mark Rippetoe explains how to do it.

    Pretty sure my favorite coach, hands down, is Mark Rippetoe. I should have watched this video a long time ago but I'm glad I now have the info. :)

    Awesome as always.
    I needed to program a light pulling day and had been using light deadlifts, this video reminded me that there are other useful variants.
    Hope to see more videos of the other useful assistance exercises from the book.

    • @callerey5175
      @callerey5175 6 років тому

      You don't need to take a super deep Breath just enough so you can squeeze your abs try doing vacuums they will help train your bracing.

    • @skan8
      @skan8 6 років тому

      it hurts my head If I hold my breath going down , regardless of the amount of breath ,It helps If I keep letting the air out a tiny bit when I go down , I know its wrong. That's why I made a question to get some ideas.

      What he means is that Chase's shin bones are not parallel, but get closer to each other from the ankle to the kneecap.

    • @gc7782

    • @AjaychinuShah

      Folks were not exercising right or even correctly so they had ankle and toe base issue. The skin on the bottom is perforated IT needs a BALM not oil and Northern/Eastern conditioning with gentleness.

    That’s wrong. You will injure your lower back when you do it like this.
    Don’t arch your lower back. Keep your spine neutral and brace. Don’t pull from your lower back. Initiate the movement with your hips.

    The hips don't follow all the way to extension meaning he does lumbar Hiperextension what not good under tension. Second point he is stuck in thoracic flexion which will also cause a ton of problems with time. Any questions?

      Ivan Sunara unless your total is over 1500 you can't tell this man shit. You are trying to correct a man that has been coaching world class powetlifters for 40 fuckin years.

    • @onceuponthecross1
      @onceuponthecross1 6 років тому

      you' re right about the hips not extending fully...his thoracic spine is fine though, he just sticks his head forward imo.

    • @BeyondFitnessFrankfurt
      @BeyondFitnessFrankfurt 6 років тому

      onceuponthecross1 why do you think that. It's physically impossible to have a posterior pelvic tilt and forward head without thoracic spine flexion. I would have to disagree with you
