I believe Rik is gonna be the second brawler of the next update with Mico.
I wouldnt be surprise if brawl talk started with the conclusion of this mystery as the brawler presentation of him getting out of the camera room equiped to brawl.
Mico is from the brawly wood trio and now that trio is full, and the man asking for help is actually not Rik, because rik was already shown in a previous animation where he was a black man.
I’d find it cool if he were dressed as a survivor in a zombie apocalypse with ripped dark clothes.
They confirmed that they are gonna only release 1 brawler per update

The gems seem to be a very amped up hypercharge, with the whole turning things into living beings ordeal.
i think that the purple crystals are what is providing the brawlers with their hyper charges which grants them huge amounts of power, however the crystals also corrupt the brawlers causing them to fight and unalive one another.
these crystals might also be the gems from gem grab which explains the mine like environment of the maps and the reason why the brawlers are fighting for them
