Thank you for a great video! I love this kind of videos where you go through the crops and explain and brings us along for a look at how it's going. Fingers crossed for a lot of tonnage this summer.
EPIC look at Rice Lake! Very informative discussion of your planting process and land distribution. Prayers for drought relief for this set of crops and easing of the wildfires. Impressive equipment! Excellent video Jan! Thanks.
Who else thought they had clicked on the wrong video when this first started. Took awhile for my brain to figure out what I was looking at. I noticed that slough steaming off a couple weeks ago. Don’t pretend to know the chemical reaction taking place there but it is cool to watch. You should organize the first annual Asquith Salt Flats Races or would it be a mud bog? Either way it would make for some great footage. Thanks for the crop tour, it is interesting to see how everyone is doing in this drought. The little bit of rain the last couple days will offer some relief as will this cool humid weather. Now if the rains would just settle in for a few days straight we could all exhale. Thanks Jan.⛈️
I’m about 1,300 miles south and a bit east of you, and almost every farm around here plants corn and soybeans, and the occasional alfalfa fields where there are livestock. We do have some evergreen/Christmas tree farms around here, also. Still, it’s so different than what you all grow.
I am a pure city boy and I love your videos. Today you used a lot of numbers & acres and stuff I really don’t know. Yes I have a ruff idea of the size of an acres. Sometime in a future video could you show a map with your fields outline with the number of acres in that field. That something I can really understand. I am totally fascinated with farmers, animals and homesteaders. I am 65 and had I had my life to do over I think I would love to be a small farm farmer.
THANKS for the update ,I know you have been busy like the TV commercial says " Dairy done right" , Hope you get a little more rain out there this summer .😊
Nice breakdown of what you’re planting. This is what I was talking about when I said don’t be afraid of being a little geeky. You did a great job explaining your reasoning. Great vlog Jan.
As well as all our farmers across our great country, I wish you guys the best season ever. You guys have not had much luck the past two years with the weather, I hope this year is a good one for you and all those who are farming in Sask, Alberta and Manitoba. Respect, from North Eastern Ontario.
Jan, the intro to your video is professional quality. Thank the for using your artistic talent to produce it. I loved how Girl nothing how do you spell thorough
Yes Jan we got that smoke down in Wisconsin too. We had 3 days of cloudy cool & smokey weather. It's dry here also but it's giving the farmers here a chance to plant , and there's some hay getting cut and manure getting put down. Pray for rain
I live in Central Wisconsin and it has been hazy due to the fires north and west of us. Has made for some beautiful sunsets though. In the past I've been able to smell the scent of burned wood but not this year. You certainly knowledgable about your crops.
The canola here in southwest Ont is so beautiful now fields of yellow. Hopefully rain comes not just for the farmers but to help put the wildfires out.
Really enjoy the intro to your video today, would make a great intro to all your video with more drone footage of the farm with a god into song. So enjoy your videos, hate you all are faced with so the wild fires right now.
I am not a farmer and I watch these videos. Love to know how our food is grow, made or concocted. I feel we are to removed from the know how our food is raised and cared for. Nice to see your comment and nice to see what country your from. Go farmers
Great intro and amazing footage, I liked the music too. ❤d how informative this video was and I felt educated. The way you explain things for the layman is wonderful, I don't feel talked down to or so ignorant Lol 😂. Also, WTH TOOK YOU SO LONG TO POST 😂😂😂. Til the next one...sooner, rather than later, I hope 😁. God bless ya Jan 🙏.
Cinematography is pretty fire, liking that intro. we have had really good luck with our Versatile 580 and 620 on our drill ,might want to check those out in the future
Informative, thanks. The wildfires in Alberta and Saskatchewan are bad news. We has smoke down here in NE WA State. We anticipate an active fire season here later this summer.
I like your 9882 New Holland by Versatile and 2210 Bühler Versatile Genesis. Back in the day we sold lots of both FWD and FWA tractors from Versatile. We are only an hour away from the Versatile tractor plant in Winnipeg. Sure hope you get some rain to end your drought 🙏 We had a real bad drought here in Southern Manitoba a few years ago but 3 years in a row must be awful!! I enjoy watching your videos and watch almost every one!
beautiful set up. when we started this video I was thinking look at all the snow. I so love to hear you teach so much thank for your time. Granny USA can you put 2 flags to fly in the wind on the tractors?
So different but yet so much the same as the Iowa agriculture I grew up with. Canadian wildfire smoke is making our skies plenty cloudy here in the U.S. If goodwill traveled as far and wide as smoke the world would be a better place.
Looks like you are having some rain right now, but you are missing the storms which are going to hit Saskatoon, Just shows the difference between our climates, here in the UK some of my rye is 7 ft tall.
Surprised you dont plant a wheat or barley crop for that straw but use canola straw canola or oilseed rape here in the uk is just chopped and not baled
Last update that Jan gave, he said that they were milking about 360 cows. However, they also have their young stock, dry cows and steers to feed. They typically have 700+ head of cattle on their farm.
It is, but it doesn't grow as well in their region. Jan has footage here on the channel of corn being harvested at other local farms, and it's not nearly as tall as the corn on 10th Generation Dairyman's farm. (Which is in Pennsylvania) Plus, Jan's farm isn't setup for corn. They would need a planter, rather than a seeder, and a corn header for their chopper.
Is it because it's the only thing that can pull the planter that the Ford tractor doesn't for any circumstances get used for anything else? It would make perfect sense it's just one of the least talked-about machines on the farm

Don't go thinking that they were different in some way, or that you are more "advanced" or something like that. It is not different and you are not more advanced. You are in danger and you must take action.

Yes great video thank you for sharing well done

Very interesting video thanks again for sharing.

Great run through! Sweet fleet of equipment
Have you tried to swim in the salt water slough? You should float easily in it if it has much salt.

And I see you are getting close to 200k subscribers. Well deserved
Great video. I went from a 9882 to a 435. Only rated at 10 hp more but it pulls a lot better. 55 ft 3310 and 5350 amd 2000 gal nh3 tank

Most interesting, well done, as usual, Jan. Let's encourage viewers to pray with you all for much needed rain like Elijah of old.

Amigo bonito video me gusto el tractor de 8 llantas es una mole, excelente felicidades.
Wow i never knew just how much land you farmed until you did the break down of the crops and acres.
Glad you were not affected by the fires
have you thought about doing a pea/oat intercrop?
Really enjoy the intro to your video today, would make a great intro to all your video with more drone footage of the farm with a god into song. So enjoy your videos, hate you all are faced with so the wild fires right now.
Wow, your seed drill is just ‘slightly’ bigger than ours, we have a mighty 3 meters to play with! Hi from Scotland

I'm from Maine USA and the Alberta fires affected our weather too

Have you checked into a tune for the 9882? It would be worth it.....
Very well explained Jan, love the drone footage.
I hope you get some good rainfall and have a bumper crop. Be safe
Such an informative video……It is so important to see this work. You are fantastic!
Good luck🙏🙏🙏🌧️🌧️🌧️🌧️🌧️🌧️
Funny, we’re getting so much rain. It’s flooding everywhere Canada is dry completely the opposite of us.
Hopefully you had some rain on those crops now.. good luck! Great videos.

I live in Minnesota USA, your fires are giving us the most beautiful sunrises!
I bet! It’s amazing that the smoke has reached the beautiful state of Minnesota.
Hopefully you got some of the rain we had on the South side of Saskatoon the last couple days - about 18 mm total.
I love all your videos, you are my platonic love 🤗😊
Long time no see brother from the imperial county California 👍👍🖐️🇺🇲
Great video Jan. Thank you
I noticed on one field at least you were planting across last years rows, curious as to why? Does it help smooth out the field?
That was great. Really interesting
Interesting focus on crops. Something different
Prayers for showers friend added to the list love from Texas

❤
Nice intro there man, hope you get the rains you need
🇨🇦
good in depth reporting
What do you spray on the fields?
Herbicide, to kill any weeds and volunteer crops from last year.
Hope ya'll farmers get some spring rain for growing crops.
In Ontario there is a Rice Lake
Ya the fires are bring smoke down here too
We are getting rain in Denver going to clear out the smoke from Canada fires !
is that salt or alkaline?
2500 acres for 300 milk cows is that right ??
Last update that Jan gave, he said that they were milking about 360 cows. However, they also have their young stock, dry cows and steers to feed. They typically have 700+ head of cattle on their farm.
Corn is not an option in Saskatchewan?
It is, but it doesn't grow as well in their region. Is Flicka riding with Miriam during rolling?
🚜 🚜 🚜🐄🐄🐄🐄 🚜 🚜🚜
What music was in the intro? It was awesome. Edit: Found it, Chant for Quisqueya by Ambre Jaune
Is an acre the same size as in the United States?
Yes.
There’s some other post when I look u up on utube?
Most likely you will get more rain the coming months, compared to that chart showed from previous years.
GL there.
have you ever thought about investing in sprinklers
Can we get a house tour? PLEASE
first
Such an alkaline pit...too bad it can't be changed into a fresh water source.
