    If you want the best body protector on the market, look no further than the Leatt 6.5 Body Protector. This protector is a mix of hard shell plastic and 3DF AirFit ventilated soft impact foam. Not only are you getting ultimate protection, but at the maximum comfort level.
    With the 6.5 Body Protector, you get chest, back, elbows, and shoulder protection with CE-certified impact protection. There’s also a built-in kidney belt which is a huge bonus for me. The fit is adjustable and comfortable, thanks to the use of a 3D molded foam that conforms to your body.
    The two-part system is also awesome because it’s comfortable and adaptable. If you just want the back protector and chest protector, you can wear it separately. The base protector is built with a moisture-wicking fabric that keeps you dry and comfortable on those hot days. It’s also soft enough and comfortable enough to wear up against the skin so you can cut out a base layer and be that much cooler. Cally has the 3DF AirFit Body Protector and it’s similar to the 6.5 in its construction (just less hard shell plastic) and she just wears it over a sports bra and under her jersey.
    One of the major benefits of the Leatt 6.5 Body Protector (and honestly the main reason for wearing it) is its level of protection. The CE-certified impact protection is among the best available and provides peace of mind for riders who want the best possible protection.
    You’ll notice that the Leatt 6.5 Body Protector is one of the highest-priced body protectors that Leatt has on the line. Not only does the level of protection and comfort make it worth the investment, but it’s not something that will only last a year or two. The 6.5 will be with you for many years and if it can help prevent a serious (and expensive) injury, then you will be grateful you opted for the best protection available. I am 6,0 and 185 lbs but I went with the XL because I am using it for snowbiking and will have thermals under them. I order my gf a medium and it is not good for women, tried it on and it didnt fit what so ever. Just ordered and excited to try it out.

    I'm your height, 6', but skinny, 38 inch chest, 31 inch waist - do you think the L would be a good fit? I'm also concerned about the fit being too loose. I liked the review. Good detail.

      Hmm, that is a great question! Sounds like you are probably right in between a medium and large. According to heir size chart I was supposed to be an XL and sized down to a L. You have a bit of adjustment on the sides as well as with the kidney belt.. Do you have the opportunity to buy both and return one? I'd say it'd be best to try them both and really make sure you get the fit that you like. Sorry that's not much help!

    Thank you for the video and review. How does it stack up to the ALPINESTARS version ? Also does all the Velcro get hung up on the jersey and making the jersey look like an old used sock
    Thank you

      I've not tried the Alpinestars version so I can't speak to that. I don't have any issues with the velcro getting hung up on my jersey. Thanks for watching!

    Great review, I am 5'11'' and 210lbs and torn between getting the L or XL...thoughts?

      I would probably go with the large as you're not that far off from my measurements and it has quite a bit of adjustability.

    How do you wash the jacket? Do you need to remove the outside plastic and the inside pads or are they sewn in permanently?

    • @AdventureRig
      @AdventureRig  9 місяців тому

      I would not put it in a washing machine but we hand wash them in the sink or with a garden hose after taking off the plastic. I'm not currently around it and can't remember but I think some of the pads come out but I don't recall if you can remove all of them.

    So I just bought the neck brace 5.5. Will it work with this one also? I don’t know which is better. The 5.5 or 6.5 body protector

    • @AdventureRig
      @AdventureRig  Рік тому +1

      The 6.5 is just a bit more slim in the plastics. I can't say with 100% certainty but I think the neck brace would work on both just fine. It's worth a call to Leatt just to make sure.

    Great review, I was wondering what are your thoughts about using this product for mountain biking, do you think it’s to bulky? Do you think mobility is going to be affected? I’m riding a lot of black diamond trails and had my share of falls but I think it’s time for me to move on on to something more legit , ok thanks again I hope you can reply soon.

      Thanks for watching Julio. I think personally I would recommend the 3D AirFit body protector from Leatt for a situation like that. It does not have any plastic and is a little less bulky but still offers a ton of protection. They do have mountain bike specific options as well I believe.

    I'm pretty sold on this armour and have tried on in store, not purchased yet, I felt that the kidney belt wanted to" ride up" when I moved around, have you found this to happen when riding?

    • @AdventureRig
      @AdventureRig  Рік тому +2

      Hi Steve. I found that issue with my last body protector and it was very annoying. But with this belt having vertical adjustment I was able to move it down quite a bit and that prevented a lot of this issue.

    Any good options for upgraded shoulder protection which can be combined with this jacket? Just dislocated shoulder and broke collarbone…

    • @AdventureRig
      @AdventureRig  5 місяців тому

      Oh man, sorry about your injury! That is a really tough one to protect. It doesn't take much force at all to break a collar bone and I'm not sure how you'd prevent it as it is kind of due to the motion of landing on it (ask me how I know :(...) Good luck with your healing!! Hope you can get back to riding soon enough.

    Leats sizing is wack. I went in the store and tried on LG/XL and it was tight. I don't like on there website they don't give chest aizes

    • @AdventureRig
      @AdventureRig  2 місяці тому +1

      I went off the size chart and had good luck with it, but I think the best with this type of gear is to try it on in store.
