- Hey friends! I snagged a bunch of items in the new (?) Pen+Gear stationery line at Walmart, and today we’re going through it all! Note that there was A LOT more in the section, couldn’t grab it all…but other items included aesthetic desk accessories and organizers, as well as additional notebooks and pens in other colors!

The knob on the pen you didn’t like the logo is a roll stop to keep it from rolling off of your desk. You could always put a sticker or washi tape over the logo. Would love to know if the small Black notebook and the beige top bound are fountain pen friendly.
Was about to comment about the roll-stop, but I checked to see if someone else beat me to it. ❤ without a clip or that little knob, that pen would roll right off your desk!

I am NOT a Walmart fan in any way, shape, or form, but there are a few grocery items that my HEB doesn't carry, so there I was. And as you said, one finds themselves in the stationery aisle. 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ I was pleasantly surprised with the new setup! I was limited on time, so I didn't purchase anything, but I'll be back with the sole purpose of checking out those products.
I totally hear ya! I do my everyday shopping at HEB as well, and then hit up Walmart for one-offs (party supplies, etc)!
I’ve use several pen and gear items. They’re great for everyday. I have a tablet of weekly plan pages. Write well with gel pens.

Ok, I love, love, love the Ultra Tabs! I use them for everything - planners, notebooks, recipe binder, all the things! The sticker paper is excellent…bought a package at Walmart a couple months ago and it works great! I use my inkjet printer and cut with scissors or paper trimmer. Good stuff! Thanks Elizabeth for another great video!

Love all these finds at walmart!
I spent quite a bit of time wondering the aisles a month ago. So many things to choose from. I don't remember seeing these things so I'll have to go back. These were some great finds.
Pretty coral color for the pen.
so pretty! doesn’t have the pink tone of coral but scratches the itch!
Dollar Tree has all white tabs like the Ultra Tabs.

Some of my favorite budget stationary! I was really surprised by the Pen and Gear quality.

I thought you were going to say down the rabbit hole. 😂 I have their set gel pens. Which are great. Because they have a set with every kind of gel pen you could need in one set.
I wish Pen & Gear did more dot grid notebooks/pads. The walmarts near me didn't seem to have a lot of options for that. I also wish the pocket planner was a Monday Start!
Agreed! I’d like to see more dot and graph grid! I hear ya on the pocket planner! Thankfully I love a Sunday start on my monthlies and Monday start for my weeklies so this ticks the box! would be easy to modify if you had a surplus of stickers!
4:58 I’m cutting my Ultra tabs in half these days. It works perfectly cause I usually don’t need all that real estate on a tab. Plus you get double the amount. Give it a go!

Maybe that little nib thingy on the side of the black pen is to stop the pen from rolling around on your desk? 🤔

I'm really loving the idea and look of the desk top weekly pad. I'd love to see them do maybe a metallic top bar, since they didn't gild the edges to match the 7x7 task pad.
Ooo! That would look cool! Though I’d bet it would cost more to make and move it out of the price range they’re focused on
@@thejoyfulsojourn it really would be pretty. Or even an ivory top bar with the gold tone Chicago screws and gilded edges. That would elevate the look, even more. And, thank you…I never knew those were called Chicago screws. When I look at ring planners and journals, I always look for those, instead of rivets, so they can be changed out.
They do have white ultra tabs on Amazon.

@@thejoyfulsojourn I have to admit I learned about them from Julie plans last year because she was doing something with the white tabs. They may be in some office supply stores, but I am a Amazon junkie lol
Can you do a smudge/smear test on both sets of pens? Also a highlight test? I cant wait to see if I can find these at my Walmart.

The gel pen will smudge with highlighters. I highlight first and then write on top with mine.

Can someone tell me what the “hybrid” is about? Is it just a regular ballpoint pen?
My understanding is that Ballpoint ink is oil based and Gel ink is water/gum based, so a hybrid is a mixed ink of both oil and water/gum. It’s a hybrid of the two inks. So you get the smoothness of the gel with the quick dry of the oil!
Zebra makes a nice hybrid ink pen as well in a lot of different colors and they are sold at Dollar Tree, two for $1.25. I've purchased quite a few of them and really like them... and I'm a bit of a "pen snob".
