I didn't know what the word aphasia even was so I googled it, now I'm regretting knowing what it is. It says a language disorder that affects a person's ability to communicate it can occur suddenly after a stroke or head injury or develop slowly from a growing brain tumor or or disease. We're all praying for you Bruce. I actually met him what kind kind of my dad knew the guy that owned carnival equipment, it's located in New Jersey and it's called bowcraft. That is where the film mortal thoughts was shot. I was standing outside cuz it was cold so we were sitting by the barrel where they lit a fire in, as I was keeping warm I didn't notice Bruce walked up behind me and before I knew it he was standing next to me and I was nummified lol, I couldn't talk. But it was the best moment of my life besides meeting my husband. Praying for you Bruce
Aphasia is somewhat common in brain trauma, and it makes it difficult to say what you mean. Unwanted words sometimes come out instead of the words you want. A more severe version of aphasia seems like you're talking normally, but no one can understand you. It's kinda like gibberish word salad. Dysphasia is like the opposite in which the patient can't understand anything anyone else says. What's really tragic is when you get both conditions together.

My father has this condition, and it is as you describe. There may be some more insidious diseases (ALS, for example) but not many. I would not wish this on my worst enemy. It utterly destroys the life of those afflicted by it as well as their caregivers. Imagine going through life utterly incapable of any form of engagement with others. Now imagine trying to care for someone who cannot articulate anything to you, making it impossible to know what they want or what they are dealing with (pain, discomfort, cold, etc). I am so sorry for Willis and his family, and my only hope is that more attention will be brought to this and other neurological diseases as a result of this announcement.

What makes this all the more tragic is that he also stutters and in a speech at the American Institue Of Stuttering, he articulated on how his stutter impacted his self confidence as a child and the primary reason he got into acting was to overcome his stutter and shyness...I hope he recovers and finds solace in this difficult time

Hi my dear this is Yolanda from South Africa IV been a huge fan of Bruce Fr yrs since I was younger Andi must say his been awesome roll model to society I'm sad by his diagnoses bt hay look on the bright side God didn't take him away totally his sickness is curable right so I'm happy he still looks breath taking and I'm so proud of his life and achievements as loyal fan ,he must not let this make him stop doing the good tht his been doing all the yrs always remember God puts us human souls in huge tests and this is one of those times in his life he must still carry on as normal do his medication as doctor prescribes and he will be ok under God's grace I will keep him in my prayers ...🙏❤️
This is not a death sentence. I have aphasia and have continued to work since diagnosed. My daughter teaches children with aphasia. It's part of getting older for most of us . His job requires that he remembers lines, actions, and long hours. Taxing in his line of work. Why do it if doesn't need to? As usual the media makes it sound like he's on his deathbed and people believe it without even looking it up. SMH
It really depends on the job. Jobs like customer service would be difficult with this condition. I have aphasia all my life and I know. I can't even be a grocery checker because you have to communicate with customers. The best thing I could do is receiving and physical work.

THAT IS SOOOO FN SAD! I could see it on that clip! My grandmother had Alzheimer’s for over a decade, could not talk for the last 10 years of her life and was on a feeding tube. I cannot begin to tell you how tough that was to see her like that, have no clue who I was anymore, let alone my dad! Did not know that her husband of over 55 years had passed, and her quality of life stunk. Because she cannot communicate, I never knew if she was in pain or anything. Count your blessings, love your family and friends, and live every day, enjoy every meal, we never know when it’s going to be our last day or our last meal. Don’t be afraid to tell your family and friends that you love them, especially guys… There is this stigma that we need to be tough, in my opinion only the tough guys can verbally tell another man “I love you“. That is real talk, 💯… At the end of the day, who is going to judge you?! My thoughts and prayers go out to Bruce’s family, and I hope Bruce does not get to that level… 67 is not old today, it is equivalent to 50 years old 40 years ago.

I remember watching Bruce Wills (and Phill Collins)on Star Search over 3 decades ago. It was probably even longer than that, maybe 40 years. Sitting in the living room with my mother and sister watching him perform has always been one of my favorite memories. I loved watching his character in the show Moonlighting and I have admired his work for so many years. I’m glad I got the chance to live through those times. I wish Bruce and his family all of the love, joy and enjoyment that they deserve.

Aphasia isn't a disease. The family isn't disclosing HOW Bruce got it. It could be a stroke (a blood clot or hemorrhage) or a head injury. Either way, speech therapy is needed ASAP. For how long? Who knows.

This makes me so sad for Bruce and his beautiful family. He's always been one of my favorite actors. I have loved his work since I watched him in "Moonlighting" as a kid. I feel I need to go back and watch all of his work now.
Beautiful family? With him and his wife Demi being executed for crimes against humanity??? No, you got it wrong there. He and Demi were killed back in Nov 2020. Most of the A listers for the same reason. The whole Oscars was a white hat operation to wake up everyone. Wil Smith was a mark II clone and only a younger version of the guy who would be 54 now if he was alive. All the audience were doubles. THE WHOLE OF HOLLYWOOD IS DEAD NOW. We are in WWIII and they were part of the elite trying to bring upon the new world order and kill 95% of the world's population through the vax which is a deadly concoction of MRNA gene altering graphene oxide and other horrible things that I won't mention. Hollywood A listers made a pact with the devil for fame and fortune and literally worked for the C*I*A which is an arm of the cabal!
I wish Bruce and his family the best. I've loved everything he's acted in and knowing he's such a good person is a plus. You just never know what aging is going to throw at you, no matter what your lifestyle. I'm now in my 70's and my lifelong health conscience (much more than me) 75-year-old sister was just diagnosed with Parkinsons.
I think it was Bette Davis that said getting old isn't for sissies. She was spot on.

What makes this all the more tragic is that he also stutters and in a speech at the American Institue Of Stuttering, he articulated on how his stutter impacted his self confidence as a child and the primary reason he got into acting was to overcome his stutter and shyness...I hope he recovers and finds solace in this difficult time

Hi my dear this is Yolanda from South Africa IV been a huge fan of Bruce Fr yrs since I was younger Andi must say his been awesome roll model to society I'm sad by his diagnoses bt hay look on the bright side God didn't take him away totally his sickness is curable right so I'm happy he still looks breath taking and I'm so proud of his life and achievements as loyal fan ,he must not let this make him stop doing the good tht his been doing all the yrs always remember God puts us human souls in huge tests and this is one of those times in his life he must still carry on as normal do his medication as doctor prescribes and he will be ok under God's grace I will keep him in my prayers ...🙏❤️
This is not a death sentence. I have aphasia and have continued to work since diagnosed. My daughter teaches children with aphasia. It's part of getting older for most of us . His job requires that he remembers lines, actions, and long hours. Taxing in his line of work. Why do it if doesn't need to? As usual the media makes it sound like he's on his deathbed and people believe it without even looking it up. SMH
It really depends on the job. Jobs like customer service would be difficult with this condition. I have aphasia all my life and I know. I can't even be a grocery checker because you have to communicate with customers. The best thing I could do is receiving and physical work.

THAT IS SOOOO FN SAD! I could see it on that clip! My grandmother had Alzheimer’s for over a decade, could not talk for the last 10 years of her life and was on a feeding tube. I cannot begin to tell you how tough that was to see her like that, have no clue who I was anymore, let alone my dad! Did not know that her husband of over 55 years had passed, and her quality of life stunk. Because she cannot communicate, I never knew if she was in pain or anything. Count your blessings, love your family and friends, and live every day, enjoy every meal, we never know when it’s going to be our last day or our last meal. Don’t be afraid to tell your family and friends that you love them, especially guys… There is this stigma that we need to be tough, in my opinion only the tough guys can verbally tell another man “I love you“. That is real talk, 💯… At the end of the day, who is going to judge you?! My thoughts and prayers go out to Bruce’s family, and I hope Bruce does not get to that level… 67 is not old today, it is equivalent to 50 years old 40 years ago.

I remember watching Bruce Wills (and Phill Collins)on Star Search over 3 decades ago. It was probably even longer than that, maybe 40 years. Sitting in the living room with my mother and sister watching him perform has always been one of my favorite memories. I loved watching his character in the show Moonlighting and I have admired his work for so many years. I’m glad I got the chance to live through those times. I wish Bruce and his family all of the love, joy and enjoyment that they deserve.

I didn't know aphasia was a condition that existed by itself. I always thought it was related as a symptom to drinking, dementia, or a stroke.

Aphasia isn't a disease.
The family isn't disclosing HOW Bruce got it. It could be a stroke (a blood clot or hemorrhage) or a head injury. Either way, speech therapy is needed ASAP. For how long? Who knows.
Bruce was one of a kind. I had an amazing time watching him on screen. As I kid I saw him first in "Luz de Luna" and I instantly felt in love with it. "Die Hard" and "The last Boyscout" were both hilarious.
