This is cool and I’d definitely go see the game but this isn’t what baseball needs. If you go to a baseball game and automatically think it’s boring than your not really a fan of baseball. This needs to be kept in a league of it’s own like it is right now.

You're not the only one, some stadiums like Miami's fix the monotony by literallly building nightclubs and entertainment venues into the park. Traditional baseball is too slow now.
History fact for people... the Harlem Globetrotters were actually taking a model that had been used in baseball for years and applying it to basketball. This style of exhibition baseball had been around for many years. The most famous of these baseball teams was the Indianapolis Clowns.
That's true showmanship. Reminds me of the time when I was in the Pony League in my city and 3rd Base Coach had me coming around 2nd, halfway to 3rd, he realized I wasn't going to make it. I was "technically" supposed to slide and take the out, however being me, very persistent somewhat disobedient, I decided to turn and go for 2nd (what was I thinking... besides less room to run to safety) and they got the ball to 2nd...again supposed to slide...this time I got low like into a slide except I flipped over the tag (after everyone was in a collective shock including me) and I had to crawl back to the bag. SAFE. ...to not leave you hanging, no I never got to home because they got the 3rd out on someone else.
THe fact that a husband & wife own this club and not some private equity group or investment bank….I LOVE this….. who wouldn’t want to support a Couple ❤️❤️
I'm a big Saints fan and I love that they have a good time and the entertainment elements like the whole pig mascot thing, and wild promo nights, and the announcer lightly heckling players, but it's still baseball. This...whatever it is, isn't baseball.
I grew up in a very baseball centric household, we're die hard Cubs fans.... But we're in South Alabama. We were heartbroken when our AA team, The BayBears, headed north to Birmingham. Savannah is a GORGEOUS city, and well worth a trip to see the 🍌 Bananas!
I wouldn't say the future of baseball, but one rule definitely stands out as an amazing addition to the MLB if their brave enough to add it. And that rule is the ability to steal first. It's so simple yet puts pressure on the Pitcher and Catcher to keep it contained that I think would be huge. The last MLB game I watched I counted 12 pass balls that the catchers on both teams just didn't care enough to block cause there was no one on.
It isn't really baseball, but it could be something fun for non-baseball fans/ young kids to enjoy. Real baseball is a boring sport but it doesn't need to be changed just to accommodate peoples' dwindling attention spans.
I agree with most of what you said. But baseball isn't boring for those of us who are true fans, understand the game well and have faithfully followed the sport at the highest level for many years, decades even. My take though... if you don't know the difference between a slider and a change up, between a screwball and a forkball, or distinguish a two-seam and a four-seam fastball... or don't know what ballparks in MLB are hitter-friendly or pitcher-friendly, or why sometimes a game turns out low-scoring and other times it's a marathon...; or If you don't know what's a pass ball or what's a wild pitch or what's catcher's interference..., or whether a batter is a power hitter or a slap-hitting speedster... or whether this or that pitcher is good against right-handed hitters or against southpaws... or hundreds, perhaps thousands, other little game-related things here and there -- let's not even get into baseball language and terminologies..., then you are not going to like baseball, and will probably find it too 'slow' or too 'boring'. Baseball is like any other sport. You have to get to know the players and what they can do in order to know what's going on. You must get to learn the venues, and follow the action from playball in the spring to the last day of the playoffs. And then stay informed on what happens during the dead season (free agent sigups and trades) and follow your favorite team, or the entire league if you are a diehard fan like me. That's how you GET INTO THE GAME of any given sport and how you you end up loving it. Otherwise, you'll feel lost and will probably want to leave the game, or switch the channel if you are watching it from home. Believe me... I feel the same way when I watch say soccer or hockey. I'm sure those are great sports too. But I just can't get into the game because I don't know the ins-and-outs of those sports and those leagues to really know what's going on in a fly. Like I mentioned, if you don't know what's going on when yoou go to a game or watch it on TV, you just won't be able to get into the game to want to continue watching after a few minutes. But I'm sure that if I became more familiarized w/ the players and the stats (baseball btw is all about the stats) and the venues, etc..., I would probably not find those otger sports slow and boring just as other people find baseball slow and boring. I do agree though that MLB does need to shrink the action time a bit (since it's a game without a clock) in order for those that find it too long or too slow, to have a reason to stay in the stadium; or to have the motivation to go to the stadium. Do I think professional baseball players need to totally make clowns of themselves to accomplish this? Not at all. Do I think they need to completely change the game to make it faster or "funner" ? Absolutely not! They can implement subtle changes that will not mess up or ridicule the game that true baseball fans love. They can implement slight changes to modernize, if you will, the favorite pastime that we've known for the past two centuries or so. But if they insist in changing the game radically..., to the point of making it more like a circus instead of a professional sport (just to please the few and to attempt to gain more following), then baseball as we know it might just come to an end in year 2042 like the folks at Star Trek depict in the beloved sci-fi show. I only know one thing, though... I would not pay to watch a bunch of guys dancing and clowning around for as fun it might be, coz I'm sure it is quite amusing. I want to see real MLB action with real professional players and real talent; not boy cheerleaders dancing and flipping around with their pants down.
@GGI565, your explanation is spot on. I, myself, am an avid baseball traditionalist. High sock, stirrups, pitchers bat, all that jazz. To me, this isn't baseball, it's a circus, and while circuses can be fun and entertaining, they don't hide what they are behind a bat and ball. Playing against this team would be unbearable and I would never pay to see them play except to maybe take my niece and nephew once or twice. That all being said, they clearly aren't targeting the demographic that you and I are in and I think that's perfectly fine. It's unlikely these dudes will ever see the light of the Show so they're making the best of things and having fun and putting smiles on people's faces. It's obvious that you guys are passionate about baseball. However, like it or not, leagues such as MLB, the NBA, NFL and the NHL exist because people are sitting in the seats or watching on a screen. There is trouble when World Series game between the Astros and Nationals got lower ratings than the NFL Chiefs vs Packers game on the same night in 2019. Football has been unafraid to make rule changes to keep the game interesting and has done so continually over the years. To be sure, I'm glad to see baseball making some changes, such as finally having the DH for both leagues, adding a "ghost runner" in extra innings, etc. (I know the purists hate that one). A step in the right direction. Radical changes, such as the Savannah Bananas are doing? Highly unlikely, but a couple of their ideas (no stepping out of the batter's box and no visits to the mound) would certainly speed up the game. Would I pay to see a Savannah Banana game? Yes. The notoriety may not last, but it sure as hell looks entertaining. That's what people pay to see.
They should be the future of baseball to some degree.. they're living their best life. Having fun themselves and providing quality, wholesome entertainment for the crowd.
Leave your negative comments in your pocket. I love this! It's awesome to see how much fun the fans are having and the players are amazing. Can't wait to go to a game
I'd really appreciate if the MLB added a ban or limit on stepping outta the batter's box for sure. I remember playing a game with friends where we had to get up and do jumping jacks every time someone was out of the box. Most exhausted I've ever been.
A mix of the old and the new is needed in Baseball. The enthusiasm that they have is the answer...not pitch clocks, not limited mound visits. This is much better than outlawing the shift, or the universal DH.
Real baseball fans won’t accept this as anything more than taking your kids to the circus. I know these guys work hard and are having fun keeping baseball alive and we appreciate that but that is nothing more than a platform for them to go play real baseball.
Well most people who go to baseball games are not fans. They go to get drunk and have a good time. The times I went with friends I was bored out of my mind, but I was their DD so I had to made sure they go home safe.

Baseball in other countries such as Mexico, Taiwan, Japan-- their baseball games get HYPE. They usually have music, dancers, team chants, MC's, mascots-- it's not just baseball. United States needs to catch up and it's nice to see the Bananas experimenting a bit.

"It kinda takes you back"
Everybody thinks this would be great and should be everywhere. But it's more likely to be like going to someone's house and seeing a Live-Laugh-Love plaque. Their hospitality and "positive vibes only" are pleasant for a half hour or so, then you just want to tear your hair out, leave and never see them again.
I would 1000% go to one of their games if they ever came to L.A.
Love watching them on ticktock. And now you tube. So fun
Really glad they have talented players and coaches that are willing to participate
I would absolutely go to one of these games. Looks like a total blast.
This is cool and I’d definitely go see the game but this isn’t what baseball needs. If you go to a baseball game and automatically think it’s boring than your not really a fan of baseball. This needs to be kept in a league of it’s own like it is right now.
It’s low key kind of embarrassing. None of these players are even professionals.
We’ve had the same sort of team in the province of Quebec for almost 50 years now, a softball team but the same idea. They were sponsors originally by a beer company, not sure if it’s the case now. They would do all sort of crazy stunts during the game, they would travel the province and play local softball teams for special events or charities and such.
I would definitely play the video game. I think MLB The Show should include these rules on the side. And the team. And the players.
Absolutely. It would be a crying shame if they didn’t add something like that to The Show.
Yes. My partner and I are planning a 1000mile trip just to see them next year. No other reason to be down there but just to see the most entertaining team in all of baseball. Epic and we are amped!
Hahahahaha..... From Facebook reel to UA-cam.... can't stop laughing.... approved 💯💯💯
Ay that dance coach got some students they was cracking backs out there🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love the goofy aspect. It's universally disarming. Fun for everyone.
If you go to something like this and you're still gettin all pissypant cattywampus you should talk to someone.
Love seeing sports like this. I want more !! Just having fun and spreading positive energy. YOU CAN BRING YOUR FAMILY TO THIS AND FEEL GOOD ABOUT IT. To me thats a WIN WIN for everyone.
This is an amazing 3 minute video! Unfortunately it's 7:44
My favorite part is if a fan catches the ball the runner is out! LOL
I love these guys I would definitely pay to go see them. If you look at what cricket did around the world they shorten the games down to three hours and made it fun with lots of fanfare like the US does so well and an increased the fan base by millions and brought in billions in revenue. There’s nothing wrong with addressing changing times this is fantastic and it looks like a blast plus when was the last time you went to an MLB game and didn’t spend under 300 bucks for two people a few hotdogs and a few beers and parking? Sports should be family entertainment and should be affordable
LOVE BANANA BASEBALL!!
AS A CANADIAN I WAS BLESSED TO BE ABLE TO PLAY WITH A FARMCLUB IN HAVANA CUBA. AS THE ONLY NON CUBAN IN THE LEAGUE I FELT LIKE A CELEBRITY AND THE CUBAN PEOPLE EMBRACED ME....BUT NOT UNTIL AFTER MY FIRST GAME WHEN I SHATTERED MY RIB IN A COLLISION AND PRETENDED I WASN'T SEVERELY INJURED AND THEN HIT A HOME RUN IN MY FIRST AT BAT.
LOVE YOU 🇨🇺
CAPTAIN CANADA 🇨🇦
AKA: BLANCO GRANDE
Can someone answer this for me do they play their own team or do they play the opposing team at the ballpark they’re visiting?
I met one of the players on the bananas years ago when I was on a plane trip when I was 17. Very cool dude. Hope this goes far. Good luck brett.
been a huge fan of baseball and the MLB my entire life and welcome this with open arms to go side by side with the MLB. not replace it, but be an alternative. this is fun and engaging.
look at racing, there are different styles. drag racing, circuit racing, point to point, etc. with different classes and rules. this is just a different style of baseball, and i cant wait to see what other versions and new rules this inspires.
I went to a professional baseball game the other day because I had tickets given to me. We were winning by 4 and I still was bored enough to leave at the 7th inning. I get it. Savannah bananas I have been following on TikTok and I would love to see one of their games live.
You're not the only one, some stadiums like Miami's fix the monotony by literallly building nightclubs and entertainment venues into the park. Traditional baseball is too slow now.
Umps dancing on strike 3 calls is the greatest thing 🤣🤣
History fact for people... the Harlem Globetrotters were actually taking a model that had been used in baseball for years and applying it to basketball. This style of exhibition baseball had been around for many years. The most famous of these baseball teams was the Indianapolis Clowns.
He’s right about people leaving games in the 5th tho
Lol that First Base coach had em doin the sick cat- haven’t seen that move in years
That's true showmanship.
It would be interest for all star weekend to have Bananas play against a group of all stars
I’ve been arguing for years that batters stealing 1st should be a rule, and they’re showing why
I am moving to Bluffton, SC this summer and cannot wait to take my family to see the Bananas!!!
The Savannah Bananas are a lot of fun and awesome for what they are - the Harlem Globetrotters of baseball. But the future of baseball? No.
Cool, have fun. It's not baseball, but enjoy.
THe fact that a husband & wife own this club and not some private equity group or investment bank….I LOVE this….. who wouldn’t want to support a Couple ❤️❤️
We love the Bananas here in Savannah! Games are super fun and are always sold out
I am from here. These guys are great.
These guys are fun to watch. I would definitely go see them
한국에도 저런팀이 있으면 참 좋겠어요^^
일본과 한국은 야구에서 서로를 해본 적이 있습니까?
I love the creativity here! I hate how slow baseball games are. But things fun!
Reminds me of the Bingo Long Travelling all Stars and Motor Kings.
The shortstop should casually drop a peel on the baseline, just past second, when no one is looking.
This is amazing!
Great to get people interested in baseball and I wish them well.
I can't wait to see these guy start touring...sign me up!!
I’m a foam finger guy and that banana one rocked my world
This is straight out of the ole school baseball movie BINGO LONG and the TRAVELING ALLSTARS🤫🤫🤫
I remember seeing a St Paul saints game 20+ years ago. It was. It as nuts as this but it was a ton of fun
I'm a big Saints fan and I love that they have a good time and the entertainment elements like the whole pig mascot thing, and wild promo nights, and the announcer lightly heckling players, but it's still baseball. This...whatever it is, isn't baseball.
This should be put into a movie.
I love baseball. This isn't a replacement but a great addition
This is way more exciting than the MLB
I wouldn't say the future of baseball, but one rule definitely stands out as an amazing addition to the MLB if their brave enough to add it. And that rule is the ability to steal first. It's so simple yet puts pressure on the Pitcher and Catcher to keep it contained that I think would be huge. The last MLB game I watched I counted 12 pass balls that the catchers on both teams just didn't care enough to block cause there was no one on.
I live 15 from that stadium it’s right next to the speedway and the legends a truly beautiful little stadium in Kansas
@@ggi5658 100% agree with you, nice analysis
I was originally pissed off by this video until I read your comment and I see it through a new perspective. Thanks!
@@tatertotsalad @Chris Schrock Great to see some real fanzzzz around here!
I just realized they mentioned Eric Byrnes in that video. So now we know his whereabouts! Lol I think I remember him w/ the A's and DBacks a few years ago if I recall.....
“Baseball is becoming more slow” proceeds to emote for 30 secs in the middle of a game 😂 looks fun tho
Fans catching a foul for an out is insane !!! Literally would make going to a game that much more fun as hell !
Leave your negative comments in your pocket. I love this! It's awesome to see how much fun the fans are having and the players are amazing. Can't wait to go to a game
If you ever watched the movie Bingo Long and the Traveling All Stars…it gives you that vibe👍🏾
I'd really appreciate if the MLB added a ban or limit on stepping outta the batter's box for sure. I remember playing a game with friends where we had to get up and do jumping jacks every time someone was out of the box. Most exhausted I've ever been.
Love the every inning counts
They are truly amazing. Keep it up.
A mix of the old and the new is needed in Baseball. The enthusiasm that they have is the answer...not pitch clocks, not limited mound visits. This is much better than outlawing the shift, or the universal DH.
"first base coach/dance instructor" is the funniest job title ive ever seen
Love these guys so entertaining
Real baseball fans won’t accept this as anything more than taking your kids to the circus. I know these guys work hard and are having fun keeping baseball alive and we appreciate that but that is nothing more than a platform for them to go play real baseball.
if you pay for a mlb ticket and don't stay for the whole game,
you just aren't a fan, and maybe not good with money
Well most people who go to baseball games are not fans. They go to get drunk and have a good time. The times I went with friends I was bored out of my mind, but I was their DD so I had to made sure they go home safe.
This makes my day! Thanks
I went to one of their games in savannah. Best time I ever had.
Savannah Bananas:
You’re amazing at baseball, but can you do flips?
The majority needing instant gratification all the time is scary
