Yeah. It's a very stupid standard to say we can't use it just because the military uses it. Everyone who purchases firearms legally understand it's legal usage, therefore the "dangerousness" of the firearm is irrelevant.

@Mike the guy The only thing exclusive to Colt is the rights to the name "AR-15," seriously, there's not a single product in the current Colt catalogue they have the patent rights to anymore. And all of them are made as good, if not outright better, by literally everyone else.
"Hell yes we're gonna force them to hand over their guns!" Well considering how amazingly overpowered and deadly a single AR-15 is, as told by our completely trustworthy news media who is never ever wrong, it's a fight Beta would lose.
If Beto wants all the assault (weapons of war) rifles....does that include all the Springfield 03, Enfield SMLE, Mauser 96, Mosin Nagant, Arisaka, and all the other surplus MILITARY rifles made since late 1800’s
If you read that colt press-release further, you'd see that they stopped production of civilian rifles because they're at full capacity servicing military and LEO contracts for a while and it's probably their way of announcing to the public that they won't be making new runs for the civilian market until their contracts are up. This is actually why Colt ARs have been so damn expensive. They're one of the largest contractors for small arms manufacturing for military and many LEO units so they often do full capacity production for said contracts and nothing for long spurts is made for the civilian market. This led to relative scarcity of colt ARs and 1911s and high prices for them because most of their production is geared towards fulfilling government contracts with long stretches of drought for the civilian market. We now have so many major and boutique manufacturers of ARs, Colt doesn't see any reason to open up new production or slow their contract fulfillment to make civilian rifles for an overly saturated market. Every M16 and M4 I had issued to me in the military was a colt and they always did well by me so long as I and the armorer took proper care of it. Although I'm more of a lever/bolt/pump action kinda guy and prefer something more akin to a M1 for my semi-auto rifles personally.
@phuloc6 I feel the AR gets an unjustly bad rap when most issues I've seen with them have been franken guns or poorly maintained over a long period of time. I've seen AKs fail under the same general situations of poor maintenance. All firearms are machines and machines will fail when abused and not properly maintained.

If the idea of building a tool, to build another tool, to do 1 process on a part that requires 12 such processes... This might not be your cup of tea. There's a reason people pay several hundred if not thousands of dollars for what amounts to $20 worth of scrap metal... @@bluefalconssuck5881 too true, i looked up steel blanks for knifemakers and the blanks themselves are incredibly cheap. Same concept applies, the cost is in the process, not the scrap metal
My Mosin Nagant is more of a "weapon of war" than my AR is. It was made in the Izhevsk factory in Russia sometime during 1942. The Mosin Nagant family of rifles have helped put a hell of a lot of people on the other side of the grass, and its cartridge is the longest serving in military history (and is still used today), beginning in 1891.
Correct. The M16 ( AR15 for those who weren't Marines like me ) is a 5.56mm rifle. They, USMC & Army, replaced those with the M4, which is also a 5.56 but shorter then the M16. The Marines are currently trying to switch to the M27, which looks almost exactly like a M16A1 and still uses the standard 5.56. Even though 5.56 is shorter than 7.62, the military version has a much longer range and a standard hunting round. As far as I know you cannot buy military grade 5.56 rounds in a store.
That blue tint is weird compared to the usual reddish hue, but I love it!!! Also I'm from the UK... I don't have an ar15 to take but if I did they would have to prise it from my cold dead fingers.
"It won't be voluntary it'll be mandatory" Do you wanna start a battle? Because that's how you start a battle. Dios mio Beto pero porque. Porque existes.
Technically almost every gun ever made can be counted as "used by military". Youd be really hard pressed to find any model of firearm that hasnt been wielded by a soldier of some kind in desperate situations. Hell some fighters in far flung lands have been spotted using a couple lever actions and digging up old ww2 relic guns. "Used by military" is a vague term too. Is it only the US military? If so then AK platform guns and FALs are perfectly fine Is it all militaries? then someone could just design a new semi auto rifle, never allow any militaries to buy it and its perfectly fine. Also designs like the AR-18 are fine if you dont count the IRA Is it all militaries for all time? well that makes a lot of bolt action rifles illegal
Remember in that same debate, Biden while tripping over himself was warning them that they were talking about violating the Constitution and I think while he was fumbling was trying to say if you change one part of the Constitution, what will stop other presidents from changing other parts of the Constitution's.
Which is true. Just by law, ignoring a Bill of Right means ignoring all of them, which is steadily happening anyways with the 4th and 6th. And the legitimacy of the government goes with it.
If you want cheap AR's you got with S&W, Ruger or PSA, if you want excellent, you go Daniels Defense. Colt splits the difference. They're not cheap, and they're not good.
You nailed Colt, Now back in 04 when AR's came back on the market the Colt 6920 was THE AR15 to have, but ten years later they're charging 1K+ for some or their AR's when at that price point and cheaper there are better AR's.
Hey Razor! Long time fan and unlike a lot of keyboard warriors, I am an expert in firearms and work for a respected firearms training academy in Texas. The AR15 platform is only great for a few uses. It's light weight and low recoil makes it ideal for competition use and for hunting small game. It can be used for home defense effectively. You are correct about the caliber difference. The AR15 takes two cartridges, the .223 Remington and the 5.56x45 NATO. Both are very similar in size but the bullet itself is only the size of a large pea. The most common large bite caliber/hunting caliber is .308 Winchester and is much, much bigger. I recommend using Google Images for a side by side comparison! Dude your metaphoric terminology is like god tier...
You pretty much nailed the comparison between Colt and Harley-Davidson. Seriously, I'm in shock that there still around.
Love that Broomhandle Mauser, my dude! That is one of the prettiest guns ever

Buy a lathe and a mill... It's cheaper in the long run.
Buy a bunch of 80% lowers and have at it. It will be cheaper
@@bluefalconssuck5881 how far can you actually go with a lathe and mill? can you actually fabricate at home a critical pressure containing part like a barrel?
@@ComeOnPelican91
Much of that depends on the skill and knowledge of the operator. Then there is the issue of metallurgy, working process, and heat treatment.
Would it be difficult?... You bet, and the learning curve can be brutal. Throwing something on the scrap heap that you've spent dozens of hours on, sucks in a way that's hard to describe to anyone that's never experienced it.
Is it possible?... Sure it is, but don't expect it to be swift or easy. You would be using generalized equipment to replicate the process of specialized and dedicated equipment. If the idea of building a tool, to build another tool, to do 1 process on a part that requires 12 such processes... This might not be your cup of tea.
There's a reason people pay several hundred if not thousands of dollars for what amounts to $20 worth of scrap metal... It's all in the processes, the knowledge of how to apply them, and in what order to do so.

Hell yeah, I'm going to take away your car keys, Beto!

What the fuck is this?

If so then AK platform guns and FALs are perfectly fine
Is it all militaries? then someone could just design a new semi auto rifle, never allow any militaries to buy it and its perfectly fine. Also designs like the AR-18 are fine if you dont count the IRA
Is it all militaries for all time? well that makes a lot of bolt action rifles illegal
That makes almost all firearms straight up illegal if you go back far enough, including flintlocks.
Is it illegal for him to be running under a false name? His fucking name is Francis. If they're okay with this, Trump should run as Daddy.

Colt splits the difference. They're not cheap, and they're not good.
Beta Beto
You nailed Colt,
Now back in 04 when AR's came back on the market the Colt 6920 was THE AR15 to have, but ten years later they're charging 1K+ for some or their AR's when at that price point and cheaper there are better AR's.

Robert has no clue and couldn't tell the difference between a M4 (assault rifle) and an M5 (BMW car) if you asked him! Love the rants. Keep up the solid work sir.
