You know what's the awesome thing? His surname is Kamiya, and if I'm not mistaken, 'kami' means paper in Japanese. :)
Kami also means "god". A fitting name for the GOD of origami.
the kanji in his name is the one used for god, not for paper. (kami can also mean hair, welcome to japanese)
if only i knew where to buy this paper online. life would be much easier

why does this pheonix have larger wings than the one i folded form the CP?

I can barely make a crooked boat.
he uses large square sheet cause you have to.... it would be impossible to shape the head with 30 cm paper. having large paper doesnt factor its difficulty

피닉스 접어봤는데 (3.5) 사절켄트지로 접어서 가슴부분이랑 등부분,꼬리부분 터져서 테이프로 코팅함 ㅠㅠ 님들 접을때는 한지나 사토시님처럼 큰종이로...ㅠㅠ
after looking at other peoples 3.5 pheonix and this it made the others loook ugly
