Resident water-resistance nerd reporting for duty! Lol. Awesome review, Aaron, as always. I had this pack for a while and actually liked it. I was on the fence, and EG was so awesome that they told me to buy it and they'd cover return shipping if I wanted to send it back (which I did). Personally, I love the feel, the shape, and the overall aesthetics. With that big flap, it actually has much better "waterproof" quick access than almost all other packs out there, which typically have zippered pockets or something not covered by a big piece of waterproof nylon, which means they're not waterproof. And as you noted, for people like me who can't wear EG packs because of back digging, the Weathershed is amazing. Zero back digging at all. That said, I sent it back because it's just a bit too small for my purposes in terms of capacity. I also am not super confident with those magnets to keep the flap on in windy conditions. But yeah, if I needed an EDC in the Pacific Northwest, this would absolutely be on my list. Lots of people naysayed this pack, but I think it's pretty darn cool--just not right for me. One final thing: the waterproof quality includes what's behind the back padding and harness, and that's an area that a rain cover will not protect. So there's definitely something to be said for this pack.

Appreciate the in-depth analysis - that's a big win for the Weathershed, being waterproof behind the back padding!

One thing I feel like reviewers haven’t called out much on this bag - the top of the backpack looks SO wide! Like, I have broad shoulders and even I don’t want that much spillage at the top.

yea this backpack never skips shoulder day

great video as always and glad you covered this one! it's not a bag I need but I do like it. I think they did a decent job at balancing access and water resistance and the flap is a really good compromise. I do like your idea of magnets in the corners, maybe they'll add those in the next batch. while the price might keep some away, I believe they are going to release more items made of this fabric .. hopefully the price comes down over time. aesthetic - all good for me given the water resistance as the primary goal. side note that after using the CTB 20 for the first time on a recent trip, I do get the EG hype, that bag was so good for travel. and glad they transferred the comfortable fit to this one.

My Fyro T22 is schedule to be here today, I leave to a 10 day Belize trip tomorrow! Impeccable timing! I was planning to take my 40L duffle, packed mostly with a travel DJ mixer, I bet I can fit the fyro in there to be used s my day pack.

I think your criticism of EG back panel isn't quite fair. The ventilation comes from the 3D spacer mesh underneath the smooth permeable the outer layer--the idea is that it won't abraid clothing or wear out, but it will still allow air to pass through. It's not just the diagonal air channels.

    • @Nomads.Nation
      @Nomads.Nation  15 днів тому

I do agree that’s what they say, but wearing the bag feels much less ventilated in my experience

@ I wont be able to get one in a while so take your time 😂. It's sold out everywhere! I saw on r/onebag subreddit that people are willing to pay over MSRP from scalpers 😡.

Would love to see a review on LTT's commuter backpack. Personally think the features are close to perfect for an EDC pack but waiting for your review before I pull the trigger.

It's a bad bag. Don't bother. Linus even tried to pull a fast one by not giving warranty until he was forced to legally.

first time this channel has a bag that is actually good ... those who says it looks bad and ugly are ugly themselves !!
this design not only is rain proof but also thief proof due to lack of zipper where you can relax carrying it on your back without the need to constantly looking over your shoulder.
Loved this bag design HOWEVER for that kind of crappy material (f**K you PU useless coating) you dare charge 350 ??
No way in hell I or anyone sane is going to get your backpack !! even after considering your greedy profit margin, the fair price should be in the range of 100 - 150 (i am being extremely generous here!)
hard facts, one can get the same design (or better) with better coating for a fraction of the price I stated let alone yours, do note the cost to produce these kind of backpacks are extremely low especially in bulk !

    Ay Maan,
    Love the work and content,
There's this massager backpack that I noticed recently,
Would love to see your take on it.
    The brand is called EUME.
Keep up the great work this new year.

I’m one of those that actually likes this bag 😂. But I just can’t spend $350 for it. I don’t like it that much. I can get 2 awesome bags for that price.

Looks so ugly, and remind me of graveyard man bag, not sure why would someone would want to carry such a bag, let alone $350, get a rain cover instead and use it with any nice looking bag
