It's unbelievable how it's changed 30 Yr ago I delivered to all the chip shops and the area was immaculate ith was a lot of ex Irish and it was a great place to live, now it's changed significantly.. I don't know if ppl are aware of the amount of RAPE CASES in the area the police have been in the schools telling the youngsters not to be wearing earphone in the area incase they get dragged up a close and tarzaned.. It's so sad yet you don't hear anything about it on the news...?.. These new residents from Eastern Europe are and beyond plus the Muslim communities don't integrate they live by the way they want to live park where they want to... Its a real shame.. To see the decline off the place...

the stories i have heard from working with the old folks about govanhill! it was the epicenter of glasgow evey weekend they will all go to govanhill to see friends and family spend all day there plus the one thing they all consistently say is that it was a very happy and clean place !! now its a dump,streets are covered in filth they are five Hijab shops in evey corner and other Muslim shops one even refused to serve me. its not the same govanhill 40-50 years ago they have definitely bring their culture, beliefs and cleanliness over
