    It's the reason they call it the "sober therapy". I've been doing this almost every day for the last 30 odd years. I'm a swimmer and cold water is part of my daily routine. Helps me to concentrate and millions of other things.

    that's just crazy, I repaired water lines for a living in cold, too, it wasn't much of a living either. but for the plunge, I always told the new people starting, it's not so bad when you go in, the hard part was when you come out 🤣. that guys insane🥶

    I know it's not the same as an ice plunge. but at the end of every shower I slowly fade away the warm water until I am just standing in a cold shower and there is something about it that makes my aches and pains go away and my muscles feel better.

    Isn't this bad for the human body? I guess him getting bundled up right away prevents him from getting hypothermia.

    • @JeevaDotNet
      @JeevaDotNet 9 місяців тому +1

      Exactly the opposite. Cold water therapy is the best thing you can do for your body. Hypothermia is when your core cannot naturally heat up. Taking a cold plunge increases your body heat so you're naturally more warm throughout the day.
      I do this almost every day. It is the best thing for the body and mind. The only rules are, don't think about it, just do it. Don't touch the water before hand, it has to shock you. Don't stay in too long. In weather like this, at least 25 seconds+, but no more than 3 minutes.

    Why is this news? I live in Sweden and know many people who do this all year. Most coastal cities have open-air bath houses open to the public that are frequently visited all year by friends, families and is particularly popular among the elderly. This seems pretty mundane.

      A toasty sauna outside of a cold lake at lake Bodom VS diving into frozen water with no sauna after. Do they frequently dive into frozen lakes? Thanks in advance for any reply. Cheers.

      @@DevouredByADream Usung a sanua is more common but there are also many people doing it without. Many cities have social groups that saw ice pools and swim together.

    • @DevouredByADream

      @@interactingarts I think in USA it is uncommon maybe. Most people don't like cold and especially cold water to submerge their bodies in...despite the health benefits if done safely.
