The InstantIR node appears in the Manager: / Custom Nodes Manager. (Button) - search and you will find it. Using MANAGER - I installed the nodes and all the folders automatically, including the '\ComfyUI\models\InstantIR\models' Folder. - Did not need to create them myself. I only needed to get the models and put them there. Maybe there is no need to install this node manually - but hey, do so if you like to! 😅 I really like restoring old photos - THANK you much!! And as always.
Thanks for another great video! Do you know if InstantIR can repair those white "cracks" you often get in old photos. Most photo restoration tools I have seen can't do it and refer you Photoshop or similar to fix those type of issue. Thanks!
Thank you! I tried by artificially creating a crack. While InstantIR itself was not able to completely fill the crack, the second pass using flux fixed it.
It's not restoration in any way, moreover it will guess and clone your cracks because it can't see anything in reality, not measuring anything. Pipelines which use vLLM, using the bad small ones, which can't measure, you need a Pixtral 2 Large to actually see, maybe measure original pixels.
Thank you for the detailed explanation on using Instant IR in Comfy. I’ve been looking for this guide for quite some time, and it really helped me understand the process better. However, I’m facing a strange issue with ComfyUI on my laptop. Whenever I connect my laptop to the charger, the terminal panel of ComfyUI stops working. But when I run it on battery power, it works fine-although it drains my battery very quickly (I can only use it for about 5-6 minutes before it dies). The problem is that once it stops, I can’t restart ComfyUI properly unless I completely shut down and restart my laptop. The terminal just shows a message saying “press any key to continue,” but pressing any key doesn’t help-it just stops working entirely. I’m not very experienced with AI tools and set up Comfy for a specific project. Could you please guide me on why this might be happening or how I can fix it? It’s been really frustrating as I can’t use it properly despite having it installed. Thanks in advance for any advice you can give!
Hello, the “press any key to continue” only shows up when ComfyUI updates and it asked to press a key to close the terminal. You can try to check the ".bat" file you use to start comfyui and remove the line that says update. You will have to manually update comfyui afterwards by running the "update.bat" file.
Hey there ! Thank you for explaining this is such great detail. I have a question How would you go about doing this for ArchViz renders ? I’ve seen people post renders remastered with krea on so many archviz creators. If you could enlighten me on this :)
Thank you. I will try to use the line controlnets and then do multiple passes after that. Choosing a good checkpoint will also help with the quality of the generation. Maybe try SD1.5 since the controlnets models are good quality and then upscale to higher resolution with sdxl or flux.
Hi Im using ComfyUI via Stability Matrix. Can you tell me how to add the Python Dependencies because Stability Matrix does not have a Python Embed folder?
Hello, if you have the manager, you can search for instantir and you should be able to install from there. They added the repo to the manager after i published the video.
Hello can you try one of the followings: 1. replace the dinov2 with this: facebook/dinov2-base. you can click on the dino field and delete and type the above. the "base" can be changed to "small" or "large" depending on the VRAM available. 2. if the above does not work, you can try to delete the folder (instantir wrapper) from custom nodes foldder and install it from the ComfyUI manager instead.
I've tested both, both awful, destroying all details, cloning with serious difference. The problem is fundamental - it can't see images, by imagenet it's guessing with fantasy, it's not even related to pixel addition.
Not recommended. Awful. It's making clones vaguely related to originals like all these tools which trying to guess the image. No one see seriously this Ai in all restoration industry.
Seriously, I’m fed up with people constantly pushing ComfyUI on us! I get that it’s more flexible, but I can’t stand the endless nodes and settings. It’s time-consuming and just not for me. All I need is a simple setup: install a Conda environment, run prompt commands, and use Gradio for the UI. That’s it!
You can run the standalone version by installing with pinokio. It uses different implementation and takes longer to generate. You will also need other apps (Forge or photoshop) for the second pass. Otherwise the process is the same. As for why most new models comes out in ComfyUI first, most developers prefer it as they don't have to design the interface, speeding up development and testing. I understand it can be hard to get in at first though.
oohh.... this thing just completely destroyed my Comfyui installation!!!! I can't even start it anymore!! D:\comfyui>.\python_embeded\python.exe -s ComfyUI\main.py --windows-standalone-build No pyvenv.cfg file
@@CodeCraftersCorner Thanks, I had to reinstall Comfyui entirely. I still need to check if it is available. Can you think of a way to modify the workflow to load and process entire folders? Or maybe you can use your expert knowledge to modify the workflow? Many thanks in advance!

HI,my comfyui can't import the instantIR nodes,it's always get "import failed",can you help me?😞
Hello, in the terminal (CMD / Powershell) window, it will give you an error as to why the import is failing.

Hey, this is better than supir? what is your opinion Sir?
Hello, I think supir may be slightly better.
@@CodeCraftersCorner thanks!
what is that dino repo do we need to change anything there. Or leave that as it is.
Yes, you should leave it as it, the default option works. It will auto download the files from huggingface.
it does't work! it says the following error : "dinov2" without any clues to investigate the issue....
Hello can you try one of the followings:
1. replace the dinov2 with this: facebook/dinov2-base.

I installed it using pinokio, it took more than 40 minutes for calculate just 1 image, so i give up. Maybe somehting was wrong?
Maybe you installed the standalone version which has a different implementation.
@@CodeCraftersCornerYes, I thought about that, will retry a different instalation, thanks for reply
Don't waste time, it's not restoration in any way.
Thanks for the video. However InstantIR is no where nearly as good as Supir.
Fair enough!
