    You couldn’t ask for better step by step instructions! Went in almost exactly as shown. My new pump we slightly wider which made it more difficult to secure The pump to the base. I ended up using a small crescent to tighten the left screw. He made it very simple for anyone to complete.

    Very helpful step by step video. I’ve replaced the washer pump and the last replacement was November 2019. Today going to replace it again and watching this video again 😊

    Thanks a lot. I was afraid of the dissasembly procedure, but with your professional explanation and enough time at home was a matter of patience and care. The nearest service shop from here is at 2 hours and we can't leave to look for parts; IT's prohibited due to the Coronavirus. I appreciate a lot your help, And my family also. I fixed our washer and clean the clogged trap of the drain hose and some wires that blocked the pump. Please, as possible stay at home.
    Good luck and success in your service job.

    To reduce the water mess, remove the two pump mounting bolts. Then lift the pump assembly, hoses attached, and slip a ~2" deep baking pan under the pump. If the machine had been pumped out (I replaced my pump when it started making noise), the pan should hold all of the water when the discharge hose is removed (remove the hose slowly as there is a little pressure). If the pump failed and the machine still contains a lot of water, the pan can act as a sump for a wet vac. In my case, about 98% of the water was contained in the baking pan (some escaped during hose manipulation). I did this on an older model, but do not see where this process cannot be done with this model as well.

    @AppliancePartsPros just want to say thank you so much for making this! This is the same under-tub layout as my Kenmore 90-series. My pump went out and I followed your video step by step and it was extremely informative. The only thing is the hoses go backwards on this pump for some reason aside from the original layout of the original part. Everything works great now. Thank you so much for the video!

    Very professional and makes it look easy. The guy reminds me of Gomer Pyle (forgot his real name but he was not a bit dumb, just a great actor)

    Remove the balance weight from the around the drum,5 11mm and 5 min will save you a ton of hassle trying to get the clamps back on. Also while you have it apart clean the filter out.

    You can replace the drain pump from the back panel. Saves a lot of work.

      I was just going to ask this. Once they removed the front door rubber piece, I saw myself never being able to get that ring back on. We did ours from back. Requires a little more reaching but seems like a lot less work.

    Great instructional video. The only thing i would've included would've been cleaning out the "lint or coin trap" at the same time.

    At 4:32, you can see the red rubber flapper valve is installed on the top side of the old pump’s drain spout. But when you install the new one, it’s clear at 5:23 that the new pump has the valve attached from the bottom side of the spout. Does it make a difference how it’s attached?

    • @appliancepartspros
      @appliancepartspros  2 місяці тому

      The camera angle is different when he's showing how to install the new one, but the part is oriented the same as the original.

    What's the part number for the black house that the drain pump attaches to? I took my pump off and could see a clear/grey plastic filter piece inside that black hose. Not sure if that's supposed to be in there or not? Or did it come loose off of somewhere else? No parts diagram references the filter piece.

    Question, do I need to turn off the water coming through the water hoses before starting work here?

    • @hermeneud
      @hermeneud 3 роки тому +1

      @Peter L sounds like you're curious. I turned off the water and gas/heat. I then dismantled the washer after a series of other steps and then I changed the pump with no issue. The answer to the question is that I'd have city water pumping through my home. Would have appreciated an actual answer but I guess the internet transacts in condescension. We all start from somewhere. But hey the video wasn't bad.
