I mean part of this whole channel is the charismatic acting. They know there's a camera on them pointing right at their face. I'm pretty sure if he really wanted to he wouldn't have needed the screens. But the facial expressions is what makes the show.
If you like this, i'd also recommend paying "Reverse Charades", where one person is guessing, and everyone else is doing the charade clues, all at the same time. They also can't communicate with each other, so it's incredibly chaotic. I remember a few Christmases ago we had the clue "The Magic Roundabout". Hilarity ensued.
I’ve played a game I call reverse charades where a group instructs one person to preform actions using vague terminology and the person has to guess what they are doing
I know people appreciate the complex board games, but tbh, I love you guys the most when you're playing party games. It's ultimately more about the personalities than the games for me. Absolutely loved this.
@@DealTehCards I have a rule where if Laurie spends longer than 3-4 minutes explaining the rules of something in the intro, I don't watch it. I don't need to watch a game with a million intricacies. These types of games are a lot better which allow their personalities to shine.
I like seeing the more game like games personally I tend to skip some of the party games halfway through because by that point it's not that interesting anymore. I can't really remember any games that were really that complex that they played on the top of my head but it's not like they aren't bantering and having fun in the more game like videos.
Now that the bit is out of the way, please bring this group back for more stuff. The chemistry was off the charts from the start and this quickly became one of your funniest videos ever!
A new idea for House Rules: Wavelength, but the categories for each round have to be descriptions of personality traits or two extremes of a personality type, and the answers have to be the name of the player that best fits where the randomly-spun points/sectors lie between the category/descriptors/extremes.
oh Jenny, I too have talked myself out of being correct. Or watched my partner when playing codenames get the answer immediately then talk themselves back out of it.
If this gets us closer to Sullivan in Taskmaster, that'd be amazing. I mean, he did a very successful show at Edinburgh Fringe with Rosie, sooo why not?
I would suggest as a House Rules - Diplomacy but with Diplomats. Each team actually has 2 people: a monarch that can see the board and a diplomat that is the only way to talk to other teams. Like Diplomacy with middle men/politicians/betrayal within each team also kind of like telephone where messages go wrong. It would be a mess.
Maybe some extra rules how the diplomats don't actually know what the monarch is doing? Like, they can't share plans. The diplomat can just bullshit whatever and hope for the best. I don't know what would be the best ruleset. I'm just worried that since the telephone is not that long, the message won't get too scrambled. Also, diplomacy can be a really long game, so, dunno how the resolution would happen.
Happy Birthday to You Happy Birthday to You Happy Birthday Dear Molly-Rose~ Happy Birthday to You From good friends and true, From old friends and new, May good luck go with you, And happiness too.
House Rules Idea: Love Letter, but the post is delayed. Whenever you use a card, you roll a dice. It then occurs that many turns later. Multiple cards can occur at the same time, with the order determined by shuffling the cards for that turn together.
Ngl, I saw the teams and thought "damn, Molly Rose and Jon? He's gonna unravel so hard with MR's charades" But i think the time limit provided a lot of focus, and kudos to team Hard for the win
Ideas for House Rules: - Kurplunk with no hands (elbows, feet, etc all work) - Catch Phrase but you can only say one word - War but you can pre-sort your cards. Both players would have to predict what the other player was going to put down.
Hmm... House Rules ideas... sounds fun :3 I feel like the obvious choice is just to revisit some games with different concepts (which, btw, if you haven't considered, please do! There's a wealth of potential there!) I can't imagine you'd be struggling with that if attempted, though, so instead, I'll focus on new game ideas! 1. Catan, but Fantasy. Have you ever thought "Catan is a great game, sure, but you know what it needs? High Fantasy worldbuilding"? No? Well. That's disappointing. Special, race-based powers. Inter-generational alliances. Magic. Monsters. Bloodshed. Elves and Dwarves that can monopolize forest and mountain regions better than anyone else? Yep. Orc clans that can raid other cities for resources? Check. Alliances of men and elves that march on the black gate, and fought for the freedom of Middle Catan? Well... until they betray each other, because Mordor has that damn sheep hex surrounded, of course. Throw in some combat, an event deck of awful things, and some game-changing secret powers, and you end up with something more like Cosmic Encounter meets Civilization, but hey - isn't wacky nonsense the point of this series? Lots of potential, but probably high effort. 2. Table Football/Foosball, but you keep adding balls. It's simple! You take the ordinary game of foosball, but every time someone scores the last in-play ball, you add in one more ball to the table. Score as many as you can! A simple one, but surprisingly deep - as the game progresses, it turns from a classic match based on skill and focus to a chaotic mess where multitaskers thrive; the skillset changes, so different people will be better or worse at different points (great comeback content!). Finally, a chance for Sullivan to live out his dream of bringing Chelsea even a single victory on the pitch. Pretty low-effort, but a shorter concept. 3. Azul, but Blind. Not blindfolded, crucially - the information is controlled. Each disk (I think the official term is factory?) is hidden until you select it, at which point you - and only you! - get to choose from the tiles inside to add to your board. Lying is, of course, encouraged. The center is also hidden this way, giving you a lovely chance to lie to your friends about the 8 yellows you just saw in there and make them pick them all up - but of course, they might just pay you back later. Bonus points if you add rules for letting people swap factory piles, add specific color tiles to the center, or generally having a more interactive influence on the game - depends on the group, but I imagine NRB will thrive with some action :3 That's 3 to start! I'd be happy to think up some more, but I'm not sure anyone's going to read this as is, haha - if anyone has some more ideas, feel free to comment back and we can spitball some things!

Lol, I guessed catcher in the rye when they started laughing at "thats a medium one", purely because i was asked in a trivia quiz who the author was two days ago and was just thinking what would be a really tough one to do charades for and it just came to me. Freaky
The facial expressions when EVERYONE was being screened are genuinely the best part. I was going to comment on the first couple that I thought were hilarious, and on the show kept going and they kept getting better and better. Thank you editor.
How did they NOT get Sopranos! On the other end I'm astonished about Apocalypse now, there are a MILLION war movies that could have been anything. Gotta say, I really love the face-hiding, with a separate camera to see the clue-giver reacting to their teammates scramble to guess the answer xD
It was such a good addition! I loved it
@@leah3801 It was unexpected for me as well, and sometimes I couldn't even tell if the guessers got it or not~
I absolutely love that former professional poker player Ken Cheng also needs the screens to hide his face.
this is much more high stress than poker, are you kidding? they each have £5mil riding on this game

I agree, I tend to skip games like The Thing because those games don't interest me - it's the banter that makes me love this channel so much.
