@@Bantu-King Well, 16.5 million Guyana dollars is about $76.000 US. Not lot of money. And 50 million Guyana dollars is about $250,000US. Still, not a lot of money. Million in Guyana dollars are only thousand in US dollars. But the assistant commissioner, Mr Brutus, still should be required to show how he got this money.

Products MUST be competitive - e.g. bora selling for 4.99 to 5.99 lbs in Canada and the US, while green beans sell for 1.99 or less a pound. Casareep 14 oz sells for about 8.99 to 15.00. Just a few examples. These prices are not competitive with similar products. 2. Efficiency is lacking in Guyana to produce a product that meets the international standards. Guyanese businesses' objective is to maximize profit at a rapid rate, which will minimize Guyanese products in the market. Take for example, a Chinese company shipping bangamary fish to many Chinese grocery stores in Canada for 2.99 to 4.99 lbs where some other stores are selling it for 6.99 lbs. They are so many products Guyana businesses can be selling to Canadian and US grocery chains (not small grocery stores) many products but it MUST be competitive. Another example: try booking a hotel room in Guyana at it top hotels, it's about 200 to 600US a night where as in Canada as an example in those hotel chains a night is about 200 to 300 Can, so how do they expect people to visit and spend money in Guyana? Not going to happen, people would prefer to continue to travel to Jamaica, T&T etc that had a tourism industry that focuses on being competitive. What is the Ministry doing about tourism? Not much I guess.
While he is not guilty or charged with any crime. All police officers need to know that they should not get involved in other business that are not permitted by law (whatever the law may state). If they can, then they should be no issue. However, most Guyanese I am sure know that the laws in Guyana are executed in a manner that laws should be.
