Many people are skeptical about pharmaceutical medications. As you age, the typical pattern is to have your prescriptions increase year-on-year, so how do you know if (1) your doctor is giving you the best advice, and (2) if the medications prescribed are worth the risks?
Medical skepticism is healthy, but cynicism and outright rejection is foolish. Smart patients advocate for themselves, research both their doctors and their medications, and make informed decisions. Don’t assume your doctor is a paid shill for big pharma and also be wary of health influencers online who rely on contrarian and conspiratorial viewpoints to gain clout. Put yourself first and gather all the data you need to make a decision.

Many have thought this for decades before Covid. I think that just brought it to the forefront and caused more people to speak up.

Thanks again for some great insights. One thing that I have been disappointed with is that my doctors have prescribed medications and did not tell me that if I start the drug, I will most likely have to take it for the rest of my life.

Yeah, I've been told the same thing in the past. It's what doctors, nurses, physicians, etc. do to keep you roped into them so that they can continue to make money or insurance money from you & your sickness through the awful side effects of those poisonous, pharmaceutical drugs that they prescribe to you. It's literally brainwashing.
The _real way_ to staying healthy & normal, is to use natural remedies, herbs & supplements, plus diets (such as Keto & Carnivore), water, exercise, & intermittent fasting. That's all it takes.

    • @WizardOfWor
      @WizardOfWor 2 місяці тому

That's false. They say things like that of what you mentioned to brainwash you & get you into their clutches, so that they can _continue_ to prescribe those poisonous pharmaceutical drugs to you that are filled with chemicals & bad side effects, & make you more sick so that you'll have no choice but to keep running back to them so that they can make money from you & your sickness.
The *_real_* solution to this, are things like natural remedies, herbs & supplements, in addition to water, diets (like Keto & Carnivore), exercising, & intermittent fasting. *_Those_* are what will help you lose weight, & have more energy. Your doctors won't tell you real solutions like that because they want you more dependent on them (& that they get kickbacks & more benefits for pushing Big Pharma's drugs onto people).

Having to take pills for the rest of your life isn't true. It's a brainwashing/scare tactic that doctors, physicians, etc. use in order to keep people like you from waking up to the truth that they are in cahoots with Big Pharma, & that they make money off of your sickness. They get kickbacks & other benefits for prescribing pharmaceutical drugs that has a lot of chemicals & bad side effects.
The _real_ solution, is something like natural remedies, herbs & supplements in addition to diet, water, exercise & intermittent fasting. *_Those_* are what will _really_ help you in the long run. So if you're taking the pills that are being prescribed to you, stop now.

Maybe one reason people don't go to doctors or do what the doctors say to do is because they can't afford it.

I definitely agree with your approach, and people need to do a bit more thinking and less knee jerk reactions. Rejecting anything and everything a health organization says because of the government is as foolish as taking it at face value with no further thought.

I listen to your channel to learn more about yoga. I'm a stroke survivor of 4 1/2 years. I worked up to doing a personal trainer, still go to therapy, but something was still missing. I decided to try yoga and it has caused me to move in ways I've never thought of moving. I'm bound and determined to recover. Thank you for what you do. ❤

I have learned that my health is my responsibility, being obese is not a benefit to me as it leads to other complications and pharmaceuticals that in the long run, they will not make me healthy. Being on hypertension pharmaceuticals didn’t make me healthy, they masked the symptoms, I just stopped eating and I simply walked everyday and that was it.
    No more pharmaceuticals for me.

Smart Doctors should also be researching the medications which they prescribe. When I go to a Doctor, I has always assumed, I was going to someone who is thoroughly aware of the effects of the medications and procedures they are prescribing on my health. Now instead I am being told, I have this responsibility even though I have no medical training. Something is seriously wrong here. What do we do about those people who do not have the ability or resources to do a thought examination of the medications they are being prescribed?
    Some OxyContin anyone?

    • @ProfAndyCarp

idk - The middle men get sued and/or they settle out of court.
"This historic agreement ensures Walgreens is held accountable for the crisis they fueled." SAN FRANCISCO -- Walgreens has agreed to a nearly $230 million settlement with San Francisco after being held responsible by a federal judge last year for contributing to the city's ongoing opioid crisis. May 17, 2023.
Large reason why their is so many homeless and GOV is useless to help them. Don't wonder why Walgreens has no staff or going out of bushiness these days or homeless with serious side effects tossed out like garbage.

Absolutely. I worked in a hospital in the billing department for 3 years. Once a week we would get pharmaceutical reps come and "pay for lunch". While walking around i would hear the reps talking to the doctors on how fast they can pay off their new bmw's by pushing a certain medication. Its like the mofia.

Can you blame people for being skeptical? In most cases they have good reason to be, especially after the way the pandemic was handled. It can not be denied there was all sorts of corruption that took place during it. The pharmaceutical industry became politized.

The idea of "consensus data" has a problematic edge as well though. There are all kinds of organized and automated processes online that intentionally try to manipulate search engine results and muddy the waters. I have found it helps to use different search engines and very specific phrases in quote to try to get past all the popular fluff. And always make sure to disregard any article that does not link or exactly name source and check those sources...often the sources are some fluff piece that don't even really say what the article claimed.

This is exactly what I wanted to say about artificial intelligence, too… it’s pretty much just a poorly-referenced aggregator of what’s out there. As what’s out there gets more skewed, so will AI. I’d like AI a whole lot more if there were solid references for every word it presents. Lucas‘s point is that it’s a good starting place, which is fair enough for people who don’t do a lot of searching and already have experience with which sources they currently trust. I say “currently” because I am my own guru and try to stay alert to shifts in who is feeding and influencing my sources. Also, I try to keep an open mind towards new sources, skeptically! It’s a jungle out there. ❤
