George cole wow what a fantastic actor and great person never forgotten and always in our thoughts as Arthur Daley with Dennis Waterman as Terry brilliant series and still watch it today rest in peace George ❤
❤❤❤❤😢😢hi Paul George fan since I was young boy in early 70s this one hits home my parents grandparents family friends are all interredd buried there ❤❤❤ scattered my mum dads ashes 1993 dad my 2019 mum xxx so I'm watching it in tears now not been for 2 yrs but going up there very soon again untill I meet them again in the future have good day buddy😢😢😢😢
George was great in everything he did, especially the 1951's Scrooge where he played the younger Scrooge. A film I watch every year on Christmas eve without fail.
A great actor George Cole. Irreplaceable like so many. I liked the picket fencing and archways at the beginning. Liked all the things he was in and a handsome fella when he was young and as an older man. We had a friend who was the image of Dennis Waterman as a younger man. Thank you Paul as always.
Always been a fan of George, particularly growing up with Minder in the 70s and 80s. I collect signed autobiographies. George's "My world was my lobster" sits proudly in my collection.
That cemetery is just enormous! Great research as ever, and he certainly had an amazing life. We all loved watching Minder back in the day, such iconic characters. Shame there wasn’t a memorial plaque but you were respectful to his memory.
Thanks Paul for this one I miss George Cole, Dennis Waterman and Glynn Edwards without them you wouldn't have Minder. Like you Paul I was a huge Minder fan RIP all of them
Such a brilliant actor and was so loved in Minder. He did make me laugh as Flash Harry in the Trinian's film which I had seen when I was a child. Lovely video again Paul. Respect and love given x
Love George Cole, what a great actor he was. I love Minder. I have an Arthur Daley dealership sticker in the rear window of my 80s Jag. Flash Harry is another favorite of mine.
George Cole was a legend there never be another one like him. Minder was made for him he just fitted that character perfect and why it was a huge success and not forget Dennis waterman both so good may they both rest in peace x
Hi. Thanks for the upload. I don't know when you recorded this, but my partner & I visited Reading Cemetery/Crematorium earlier this year & last year. The 1st time we visited was to look for him. We phoned the company why own the Cemetery & they informed us they own 3 in the area & could 100% confirm he isn't in any of them. The family took the ashes away If I'd known, I could have told you.
Hiya Paul my favourite line off Minder was they were going to France for bottles of alcohol, they got stopped at customs" Arthur Daley, major share holder, my friend here is a alcoholic , we just put him in the back of the van when he's had a drop or 2" I was howling, this is Choppy
That was really good Paul. I loved George Cole, my favourite was a film he was in where he owned a large house Prunell Scales played his house keeper, her brother died in a fire in part of the house. George’s relative comes to live with him and meets ghost from the past. It’s a lovely film. It’s when George was older. I remember many of the films and dramas he was in. Thank Paul ✨✨✨✨✨✨
They don't make em like they used to he was a television LEGAND we all loved Arthur & Terry the bond they both had to gether . Sadly 😢 both taken from us the memory still shines on 😢
Thanks for coming to Reading and doing this one - I didn’t know that he didn’t have a grave marker, - The building that you saw was Caversham Park - it used to be home to BBC Overseas broadcasting and to Radio Berkshire - I think they’ve both moved on and it’s primed for redevelopment.
Aah Paul this was so special what a wonderful place I loved George Cole in minder and the fact that we lost Denis waterman as well made it so emotional you never fail to amaze me when you picked up that plant pot just shows how caring and respectful you are very special thankyou Paul always ❤️❤️❤️❤️👍🏻
I remember him most from his narration to the kids animation "Heggerty Haggerty" (1982-1984). A very small and unassuming role considering his calibre but part of my childhood, nonetheless. Thanks Paul.
It's very sad there's no grave / memorial plaque but everyone is entitled to their own wishes. Thank you Paul a lovely video and once again being very respectable keep up the good work and your great videos.
You are in my home county ..am a Berkshire girl , raised there til 2004 . ..my home was Finchampstead , a little village 15 min drive from Reading . Now live a stones throw from Warwick . Loved Minder and St Trinians
NICE ONE PAUL GEORGE WAS A WONDERFUL ACTOR I THINK EVERYONE REMEMBERS HIM IN MINDER SAD HE HAS NO HEADSTONE BUT HIS MEMORY IS STILL WITH US R I P GEORGE 🙏🥀
Yeah George in minder absolutely brilliant ive got the box set the denis waterman years its just so good gworge cole was in a episode of new tricks being quizzed about a murder by ucos Dennis waterman it was so weird because actors work together in other roles like carry on films etc but terry and Arthur were together along time so it was dangerous watching that eposode but George Cole rip you were the souths number 1 wheeler and dealer a fine axtor sadly missed god bless george
Hi Paul, Another great video. Well done for still making this film despite no memorial plaque to show us, true dedication to the cause! Obviously, George Cole is best remembered for Minder and as you point out he had roles in my many other productions in film, radio and TV. One show you didn’t mention that sticks in my mind is ‘A Blot on the landscape’ where he played Sir Giles Lynchwood, very funny! A synopsis can be found on Wikipedia for anyone that isn’t familiar with this TV comedy drama. Anyway, as always, keep ‘em coming! Best wishes, Mark
as an 8 year old in 1981 minder did not interest me when my parents had it on. not a show for 8 year olds. then when I was older 12-13. I started watching it and then could not stop watching it. (then I bought them all) george cole and dennis waterman are so good in it and the script writing makes this show take place the top 3 british tv shows of all time
Great Actor of many roles Another great video Paul His Ashes may have been kept by family which is often the case Scrooge is always my Go To film at Christmas with the legendary Alastair Sim & George Cole
Hi Paul . Thanks for getting soaking wet on our behalf (again ) , to bring us this superb tribute . Loved him in the St Tinian's' Films playing , Flash Harry , the Spiv ,( Now there's an old name , don't think we came across another until Private Walker in , Dads' Army . ) This band gave him a silly sort of tribute . Take care , Paul . Catch you next time . ua-cam.com/video/ExAjQUXuVCI/v-deo.html
I'm watched this while making gravestones out of polystyrene for Halloween! He was a very much loved character in film, Tv, and life. Very sadly missed.
Yes I remember watching that was brilliant. It was used to like the way he was doing his dodgy dealing. Thank you for sharing you. Take care. Keep safe. Drive carefully. 😊👍
Hello Paul, thank you for this video. I have a memory of George Cole playing in a programme called "Root into Europe", he played Henry Root, I can't recall the actress that played his wife.
I didn't even realise Dennis Waterman was no longer with us until I read your comment. Mind you, with the likes of UA-cam, Netflix etc, I very rarely watch tv these days to see the news. Sad to learn he passed in 2022. An episode about Dennis would be good I agree.
Another great video , Im guessing the family have his ashes unless they were scattered. A few people have mentioned Dennis Waterman who died in Spain , think he was also cremated out there. Thanks Paul what a massive cemetary and crematorium but also a nice tidy one.
You do this nice man you're best, loved minder and seen him in st trinians old movie. Very good. Nice guy, and the music used for minder my daughter used for her gymnastics floor routine. Good one Paul.
