      I started with a personal trainer, she has a holistic approach as well and a lot of what u r saying n doing is part of their program, it’s of course based on each individual’s needs and blood work, tests etc. it’s good that ur working w/ a naturopath n your dr for the guidance! I have just started so I will have to let u know, I am still at a point where I am trying to make it a routine n habit n get it worked into my regular everyday life! I want to do the meditation n journaling, life been busy as I am experiencing the overwhelm of trying to still get caught up from taking care of an aging parent for 3 years so I just take it day by day n give myself grace n deal with whatever comes up n then when it’s complete move on to the next so I think my to do lists n schedules help keep me on track I just need less of that to do so I can focus more on what I really want if that makes sense but I have alot of responsibilities so doing that as well, I will get there! 🤓 Thank u so much Erin for this video, honestly your timing is perfect! I too like the audio books frees up time, I am interested in your list of those Erin as I am interested in manifestation as well! GREAT VIDEO and tips, thank u so much for sharing, I drink SuJi juice it’s a green juice, pre mixed, I had tried regular celery juice it was ok, but I like this better it has some other stuff in with it healthy! Thank u for doing this type of video again, soooo helpful, ofcourse I love all of your videos, I feel like I relate to u so much and we are near the same age, I am a few years older but still same areas of attention to health, wellness, and positivity etc. I love to see videos like this, it’s real life n yes I like learning these things as well! 😊❤️🎁💕⭐️

      I'm currently working at not bad-talking myself. I was raised with a "bully yourself into success" mentality so it's been a very difficult habit to break. Also, I'm trying to adjust myself back into being a morning person. I haven't been an early riser for nearly 20 years so it's taking a little while to adjust.

      I want to try this product, it sounds amazing! I have found in the past if I take too hot of a shower that my scalp gets dry and itchy plus my hair gets frizzy also. Even though a hot shower feels fantastic, I don't have it so hot and I don't have these problems any longer.

    I am a nurse and have seen so many people that can’t move and would do anything if they could walk or work out again, i tell myself how lucky I am that I have freedom of movement and I work out for those who can not. Talk to yourself like you are talking to your best friend.

    Great talk Erin! As a 61-year-old, I can't stress enough how important it is to do the mental work of reframing negative thoughts about yourself into healthy, loving, positive thoughts. It will make the aging process so much easier, and carefree. In ten years from now, if you (or anyone) have not learned self-love, looking at the changes that occur in your face, neck and body can be devastating. You are a very hard worker. I know you will pull it off!

      Yep 100%. If you can't accept the natural changes that come with the privilege and good luck of aging, you'll either self-loathe or spend all your money on botox, fillers, plastic surgery, etc. (and end up looking like you have a mask on, most likely.) An alternative to that is to be grateful you are still alive and be happy. Smiling/laughing is a natural "face-lift" and also makes you feel better inside, too!

    Every single morning, typically a couple hours after I have my coffee, I have a bowl of kefir with a cup of fresh blueberries in it and then I sprinkle hemp seed and flaxseed over it, about a tablespoon of each, and then I stir it and drizzle honey over-the-top and stir that and I eat it every single morning. It is a polyphenol, antioxidant powerhouse delight, like dessert. I love it and I look forward to it every morning! I also do 5 of your habits and just turned 54 last month :)

      Sounds like you practice mindfulness with this daily ritual, and it nourishes your body, mind, and soul. I do the same but with my first cup of coffee every morning. I blend it with some coconut oil and sometimes cinnamon (my modified "bullet-proof" coffee). I then savor every sip . . . ☕

    • @StayGold_MrsE
      @StayGold_MrsE Рік тому +3

      @@jodybogdanovich4333 truth be told I think I'm really just a creature of habit when I like something. Years ago in my 20s I would go to Yoshinoya here in CA and order a veggie bowl and clam chowder for lunch everyday for 2 years. One day I walked in and the guys yelled out, Veggie bowl, clam chowder! and I said no WAIT! I was going to order a chicken bowl with no skin? and they all had a shocked look on their faces and then we all started laughing 😄
      In relation to your coffee routine, I do the same thing everyday also. I put two scoops of vital proteins collagen in it and an oat milk creamer and blend it the magic bullet. I used to add the MCT coconut oil and cinnamon also but stopped at some point. I think for women reaching the menopausal years it's really important to have a specific routine that works for you and to stick to it if you don't get bored, because you can really regulate what your body does. My biggest concern is of course staying healthy, but also keeping weight the same. I quit drinking last year and when I told a couple girlfriends that are my age that that was the biggest key to keeping so thin, they started laughing hysterically and said, FORGET IT...I'll just keep these extra lbs LOL... 😂

    • @womanofacertainage5892
      @womanofacertainage5892 Рік тому +1

      @@StayGold_MrsE Bodies are so different! I haven't drank any alcohol in 20 years (I'm 59) but that hasn't saved me from menopausal weight gain. I gained a good solid 15 pounds in the last 5 years, eating the same way I have always eaten. Have tried to lose weight the same way I used to be able to easily drop 5 pounds in 4-5 weeks if I just "watched what I ate" and cut out a few snacks. That doesn't work now. I don't feel like I'm in MY body. I was never stick thin but never overweight like I am now ("overweight" meaning I don't feel physically comfortable). I'm healthy, getting stronger, eat healthy and not overly much - starting to learn to ACCEPT that I might always weigh this much and need to learn to live with it and appreciate my healthy body, even if it's larger than I feel good in. It's not easy but I'm trying.

    Erin this came at a time when I really needed the affirmation that it's ok for me to take care and love myself. I grew up with a lot of physical and mental abuse and when I got married I couldn't believe anyone would want me. After all there had to be something wrong with me for my mother to do those things. It set me on a road of always blaming myself for everything and accepting less than acceptable treatment from others.I have Lupus,Fibromyalgia and Arthritis and I found out 1 of my triggers is when someone ignores me when we're having a disagreement or just stops being there no explanation. It hit me so hard this time that my Lupus went wild on me. It was a wake-up call. I also realized that if someone cares so little for you that they treat you badly or don't think of your feelings then why should I waste my time crying over them and stress my already weakened and stressed immune system.
    I've started a journey to self love and to discover what I really love and want out of life.

      One of the best blessings, realizations, And moments of grace recently in my life, was seeing myself when I was a child and what I would do for this child - meet ALL their needs as a loving parent. It was profound. I encourage you to go back to those moments, and give yourself a great big hug, say and do what you needed to yourself as a child. It is so healing and I believe pivotal, and when you love yourself more, because you are meeting your own needs, by God's grace, you can love others in a healthy way also. And for those that come and go, it's alright, because you love yourself and appreciate yourself and know who you are. And in the wise words of one of my relatives, ~~ the ones that love you, love you, faults and all. ~~ That doesn't mean we never grow or learn from our mistakes, but we have grace for them. May God encourage you and turn this into a turning point for you of self love, confidence, faith, and worthiness, just because you were born you are worthy of love. Amen. May much peace and faith be yours as you read this message! Amen ❤

      I say that in a healthy way, our first responsibility in life is to take care of ourselves, though we may not have good examples of that. May you receive the grace to take this moment and it be, I believe the proper word is, corner stone or foundation, an anchor in your life. May you be a beautiful example of that what you seeked. Amen. May God's peace be with you. 🌠🌠

      I just read your comment and Wow does your story sound similar to mine!!! Every last detail! That’s why it’s so important for me to share this with you. I too experienced the mental and physical abuse that you shared and I TOO have had autoimmune disease/lupus, fibromyalgia, and even hypothyroidism. I thought there was no hope of ever getting better because each year it seemed I was developing more health problems. Then I researched and found the medical medium on Instagram. Since implementing his information I have reversed these issues and have regained my life! I want you to know that healing is possible. And I wish you nothing but the best of luck in your future. I will be adding you to my prayers as I know how heavily the things you have experienced can weigh on you.

    Something I challenge myself with everyday is moderation. I am 50 and all my life I go to the extremes. I either go at something all in or I don't go at all. It took me sometime to realize that this is what I do. In some cases going all in has served me well, but the flip side does not. One thing I have mastered is truly not caring what others think of me. It has been the most liberating aspects in my life. I wish I had adopted the philosophy of not caring what others think of me at a younger age, but I didn't fully grasp it until I was 45. Also the realization that happiness is absolutely an "inside-job" has improved my mental health immensely! Having gratitude for the important things and people in my life grounds me. I appreciate your videos and I am glad you no longer tear yourself apart. I have been there, and it is utterly toxic. Thanks for being a deep thinker and sharing your insight! Much love and happiness!

    Hi Erin. Celery juice is a great idea but fresh juice shouldn't be stored for more than 72 hrs/3 days in the fridge. This is because it's not pasteurized and doesn't have any preservatives -- which is a good thing -- and bacteria can start to develop. Just wanted to pass this along so everyone stays healthy and safe.

You've opened-up and shared yourself in such positive ways. Erin I just found your channel and it is like looking at myself 40 years ago. First of all you are beautiful and so talented. Now that I am 77 years old I can tell you from experience that someday you will look back at your life now and be so upset that you didn’t love each and everything that you find wrong with yourself now. People use to tell me I was beautiful but all I saw were things that were wrong with me. I saw a photo of myself just yesterday and could have cried at how I looked at 63. I was beautiful even than but not to me. Don’t waste one minute of your life not being the person you are now. You are amazing and even now at my age I am still trying to hold back time. Stop doing it. I wish I could let it go and love me for me. For you it is not to late. I love your channel. Love being you.

I agree… for me SO MUCH time has been wasted picking myself apart, finding the flaws, feeling unworthy… it is in the last couple of years as I’m inching toward 50 that I realize that it is a losing battle! It’s also a waste of previous time and energy. I know now that I am a beautiful soul who deserves love regardless. 💗 Thank you again!! ~Erin xo

    Hello Erin, I am not over 40 yet (I am a step before it). You put all the cards on the table and thank you for that. Regarding the habits - I liked your list, some of the habits are already there :) . I started Collagen complex (you were that one that said like - "you do not have to, but it is much better with". Took me time, but now I`ve finally started), B vitamin complex 100mg (50mg was not enough),Vitamin D drops - and it gives a kick to all the systems, I feel like more Energy. And lately I`ve found out a magical features of spices! Every morning I add to my tea lemon, honey, Cinnamon, a bit of curcumin (quarter a spoon) and a small pitch of nutmeg. Later I heard from a lady working with me- that cinnamon makes you feel warmer (I am a hypotonic, a lot of times feel tired for something or hands/legs are cold). It improves metabolism and has a lot of interesting microelements. For now it works nicely. Let`s see how it will be after 40... 😝

I ran my first full marathon at 50 and it felt great. Now, at 59, even a half marathon feels hard. I'm getting more into weight training - not for some perfect body I will never have, but to age with as much strength and grace as possible. XO!

    "Ask and it is Given". Yes! One of my favorites books for years. You have to refer back to it from time to time. Another favorite that we all can refer to - an older book that will literally help you with anything going on in your life right now, even in modern times - "How to Stop Worrying and Start Living your Life" by Dale Carnegie.

    I love this list! I just want to flag another daily habit of yours that you have shared on previous occasions -- taking risks. It's important to give yourself comfort when you need it and discomfort when you're up for it. I constantly challenge myself to challenge my limitations but with the mindset that I don't have to go big every time. It can be something small -- say a bold lip or a chiffon dress?

    Infrared light interacts with mitochondria in your skin to produce melatonin, so taking a hot bath or working in your garden out in the sun (given you wear sunscreen to block the ultraviolet light of course) is actually good for you :) I love the idea of these masks and blankets because we are all indoors these days, but infrared is a longer wavelength of non-visible light from the sun, or warm things like a sauna or a warm bath 💕

Like this week I have been a nurse, pt, do it all myself since my husband has to be watched for blood clots after his knee replacement. Two years ago I would beat myself up for not getting my steps in, or for not been able to cook the perfect healthy meal ( our friends brought meals and I are what they fixed.) I did get out for about an hour to work out in the yard. It recharged my body and spirit. Everything in moderation. I have never had any unusual numbers with my blood work except once my vit d was lower than normal..Did you have any specific things you needed to change. Love you beautiful friend. ♡♡♡♡

    Thanks so much for addressing what it means to age and age well. I had so many examples of what NOT to do in my own family that I also went on a self help quest. I feel like I thrived during the pandemic. I started drinking 16 oz of celery juice every am on an empty stomach, meditation, moving my body and got back into lifting weights. Now at 58 I am supported using HRT, eating mostly plant based but I call myself a flexitarian. I am far from perfect but these few tweaks have made me feel better before I looked better. I find it difficult to be around people that don't put the effort in for themselves. It's a lot of work but now they are just non negotiables before I leave my home. I do need to truly let my hair down on vacation and just chill too instead of trying to figure out where I can buy freshly juiced celery from 😜 I am far from perfect but I can say my nervous system is less reactive and more quiet than ever and I struggle with Fibromyalgia.

    My mother often says negative things about herself as a defensive gesture, like she’s too ugly to wear nice clothes. I point it out every time she does it. I keep telling her to be her own champion and cheerleader, pet self on the back no matter how small the achievement. She says to me I brag about self too often. I say if I don’t say to myself Job Well Done, who’s to say it to me?
    Self sabotage (holding onto others’ derivative comm, too), even just a little at a time, can do large damage to psyche and behavior.
    The best way to beat a person down without using a bat is frequent verbal put down. Most people would buy into it eventually and let self go gradually. Soon the outside voice would become inner voice like what happened to my mother. She seldom received praises or positive reinforcement growing up and in adulthood.

      I'm so sorry that your mother doesn't understand this idea... and I'm SO glad you fully DO understand it. You are totally right.. if you don't say it, who will? I hope that your positive example begins to rub off on your mother too, it sounds like she really needs that self-love. xo
