Steven, You have done really well. I have a signal red 1986 300SL, so know a bit about them. The colour is definitely Pajett red (code 587), I actually spied the code in the under bonnet shot. It is very similar to Barolo red (544), stunning colour. You also have leather (not MB tex), advantage of MB tex is that it does not wear out. If that mileage is correct, you have done well. Not sure what has happened with elect windows at the centre console. The hazard switch should be in the middle, not a big deal.
Change the oil in the engine and gearbox and it will go for ever. Good for you! Well bought. I'm in Australia, and that car in good cond would have been AUD75,000 (about 40,000UK pounds).

Thank you for watching. I’m glad you like the SL and your SL sounds lovely. I hadn’t noticed the colour code under the bonnet so I’ll have a look. I remember the advert of the car from the auction house where I brought the car said it was Cabernet Red but I haven’t confirmed this myself yet.
There is an extra switch below the hazard light switch which is for an after market electronic roof operation system. If you lift the cover behind the back seats where the roof folds into, there is a lot of extra stuff to make this happen. I haven’t tried it yet but putting the roof down/up manually is an easy operation anyway.
I like to think it’s a good buy as it’s in overall good condition and all the paperwork backs up the mileage. I would imagine it’s worth around £20,000 to £25,000 so it’s amazing how values differ.
Thanks again for watching and make sure you subscribe for more SL content coming up.
      Steven

Hello Steven. Nice car, nice colour and nice video.
Happy to see someone looking after their 107. Well done :)
I imported my 55000 mile 1989 560SL into the UK from the US in 2021. Looking forward to more videos.
    cheers
    John

Thank you John. Your SL sounds lovely too. I’m hoping my SL will back from the SL shop in the next couple of weeks so they will be some new videos coming soon. Thanks, Steven 🚗

Mine always seems to spend months in the SL Shop every summer. They've done most of the Health Check findings, Just a few to go.... I hope to be back in the UK next May/June for my vacation and give it a bit of a blast before it goes back to the SL Shop for its own vacation 😁
It still has the big US bumpers and 4 round headlights (which I like), and it needs to soft top given a good going over.
      Good luck with yours :)

      Thanks John,
They do a great job over at the SL Shop and I know that both our cars are in safe hands.

@@1962RollingStone the SL Shop are amazing, hopefully the car will be back soon so I’ll be able to admire their work. It’s a shame that you don’t have something similar over the pond.

It’s a beautiful colour, but has it been resprayed at some point in the past…? I ask because for a 38 year old car the paint work is such exceptional condition.

Thank you! I do love the colour of this car as well. To my knowledge, it has been resprayed around 10 years ago and is still looking good even now 😀
