Lestat could hear Loius' while Louis was a human. He knew Louis didn't want to hurt his brother and wasn't a vicious person. Lestat is a performer and was fascinated by Louis strong will and the way Louis pretended in that moment through it was hard and painful for Louis to threat his brother
Louis is an unreliable narrator. His memories with Lestat are confuse and mess up. When Lestat read "Interview with the vampire", he was confuse, angry and funny... and may be sad, and he ripped the book apart😂😂 It is like when he woke up from the slumber, he was kicked into the chest directly, so he wrote "Vampire Lestat". But at least AMC Lestat worth it. At least, he said Louis how much he love him. And the movie Lestat keep giving and giving and let the misunderstanding rose again and again.
I love the story because of the fascinating aspects of his Lestat's character, his charisma in how he brings in people around him. But in real life, he's scary, and I was struck by the evil that Louis got himself into and he became vulnerable to Lestat only because he was already on the dark side. The confession scene said so much of that. I love your analysis of Lestat and Louis!
They are together as of 2014. Lestat in the books was not like the tv show Lestat. Plus, book Lestat said that Louis depiction of him in "Interview With the Vampire" was a lie and exaggeration.
➡➡; Lestat pulled out all the tricks in his bag to manipulate Louis, (stalking, murder, seduction, hypnotic Poetry, vampire telepathy, major love-bombing, etc.) and when that didn't work, He forced Louis into a relationship under duress!... (That church scene shows he's the devil.) He acted like he loved Louis, but Ep.5 showed the opposite.😢
@Ngehdrama A specific pov is one thing, even misremembering certain things, but Louis's not whole-cloth making up everything we read/see Lestat do and say.
Good video. Lestat reminds me of an ex. He was beautiful and charismatic. He was also an emotional vampire. Even in lovemaking he would leave me like an old, wet dishrag. I remember being "out of it" for a week and I thought he was a real vampire. LOL. The scene where Lestat is seeing Antoinette made my blood boil. My ex did that too. These guys are fun but not worth it. They will leave you sad and angry at yourself. I can spot these vamps a mile away now. This series triggered me a lot but I endured it.
It was supposed to trigger us. That's why all the disclaimers. But these are fictional characters, as wonderfully portrayed as they are by Sam Reid and Jacob Anderson. They are vampires, not human beings.
Lestat reminds me of my ex too. And everything you’ve sad about your ex is exact description of my ex as well. Its sad and funny how the more I learn about these emotional ‘vampires’, the more I see how they are all similar to each other and basically use same techniques
Lestat checks all the boxes good looks rich seductive knowledgeable powerful who wouldn't be seduced it may be toxic but the ride would be intoxicating.
This was pretty cool. I love the show and the cast is superb. I used to be on the ‘I want him’ team too when I was a young woman. This realization of Lestat would make me RUN if I saw him turn a corner on the street towards me lol😂😂
Book Lestat: Yes I would 1994 Film Lestat: Maybe 2022 Tv Show Lestat: Hell the F NO. When the season ended I was happy to when Claudia & Louis hurt him. He was horrible in the show.
book lestat is HORRENDOUS even after tvl and anne rice's retconned his actions in iwtv to make louis an unreliable narrator. he is a rapist in the tale of the body thief and does other borderline rapey shit. in fact i think show lestat is an accurate and more nuanced portrayal of lestat - something anne struggled with
This is all through Louis' memories which may or may not be influenced by Armand who clearly has a vested interest in Louis staying with him. I am not at ALL excusing Lestat's truly horrific domestic abuse, but I am saying it is possible he did not actually go as far as we've been shown. It'll be interesting in season 3 to see his perspective, which I am sure will be just as much of an unreliable narrator as Louis has been at times.
I would not date lestat, he is so toxic, the beatdown was off limits, i would have NEVER allowed him to come back, and after that he was bitter and sarcastic like what the fuck?
I couldn't agree more had the chance to sleep with Lestat i would do in a heartbeat but couldn't be with him long term. I probably would be okay with killing, but him being the need to be in control while keeping secrets wouldn't work for me
Well you have it all wrong. But Anne wrote it that way. She changed the Lestat character in the second book. He was much more palatable after his transformation. He and Louis's relationship is Eternal in the Vampire Chronicles. The best line in all the Books and the most Romantic was in the 2nd book . Near the end........ "And I had always loved him, hadn't I, no matter what happened, and how strong could love grow if you had eternity to nourish it, and it took only these few moments in time to renew its momentum, its heat?............ Said by Lestat, about Louis when they meet up again after 100 years apart.
You don't endure all that Lestat endured from Louis in this series if you don't love the person. Lestat, if he didn't love Louis could have discarded or abandoned him. Your criticisms are flawed.
@@moviemystic999 To be clear, I didn't mean you personally are flawed. Only that the conclusions you draw about the sincerity of Lestat's love for Louis in the series is flawed. You may be going off the Lestat in the books.
@@Elaiyel Are you kidding? Plenty of people in real life stay in miserable relationships for years, for tons of reasons other than love. It happens everyday of the week. Some people don't even know how to love themselves, let alone someone else. Obsession, Desire, Complacency, Codependency and Fear of Loneliness are not Love. Lestat made zero effort to understand who Louis was or really care about what Louis wanted. Lestat certainly seems to think he loves Louis. But as Sam Reid said in an interview, Lestat is an absolute mess. Their relationship is clearly toxic as shown thus far. How accurate Louis' version of events turns out to be is the real question.
@@no_fan_girlno_fan_girl6769 Thank you for your thoughts. Relationships may be toxic. A couple may be codependent. Neither case excludes genuine feelings of love on the part of either or both partners. The problem people like you have is you judge Lestat as if he were human. Lestat didn't need to try understand who Louis was. He already knew. It's Louis who didn't know his real new nature and kept clinging to his old life. All the while, Lestat was patient and generous with him. That's why I call it love. I believe love is patient and kind and giving. That has been Lestat's prevailing disposition towards Louis throughout. Till Louis physically attacked Lestat, granted in defense of Claudia. Frankly, Louis was the one who oftentimes behaved badly towards Lestat. But both characters in the series deeply love each other, however imperfectly. Couples make mistakes in relationships. But true love endures which is why Anne Rice has them reunite in her novels.
