I still drive my late dad's 1994 Chevy K1500 4x4 5.7lt auto-tranny with just over 139'000 original miles and I drive it roughly 500 miles a week and yes proper maintenance and yes when something breaks I just go get it fixed and she gives me close to 100% reliability which is what I need to have and I feel like my late dad is right there in the passenger side when I go out on it !! The old Chevy motto use to be way back in the day !!! A quart of oil, a gallon of gas let no other car pass for this is what my late Grandma Keen told me when I use to sit and talk with her many moons a go !!! If you take care of them they will take good care of you !!!
Just got a notification that someone liked my last comment so I checked the video again and MAN this is blowing up for you considering it was posted just a few days ago. Congrats dude, the channel's only gonna get bigger from here!
My first vehicle was a 1991 K1500. Fast forward over a decade it’s seen me in the army, have a son, and multiple trips across the states. It’s still my daily driver
Obs Chevys and gmc’s are some seriously under appreciated workhorses. Most I see around my parts are beat to death and got the banana stance with them fell through cab mounts.
I bought a 1997 Chevy k1500 with 160,000 miles on it. 5.7L 350. I have daily driven it for two years now as my only truck. Paint is in amazing condition, interior has those tough cloth seats that don’t rip, I got a dash skin installed on the dashboard. Replaced that horrible Bluetooth aftermarket radio with the factory CD/Cassette radio that sounds 100x better. Replaced the speakers with quality ones. I get 10 mpg city, 15 mpg highway. The truck has given me NO problems and drives smoothly.

I wish my grandfather would've kept his 88' GMC sometimes. Red/black 2 tone regular cab rwd long bed with the 350 and a posi rear. He traded it on the 99' jellybean Ford I daily now. But then again I can't complain about that truck either because my F150 has also outlived a 2011 GMC (that I lost a lot of money on) that I bought to replace it lol.
I'm daily driving a carburated 2.8 liter inline 6 in germany. I can't afford gas so I'm always in debt but the looks and compliments I get for the car are worth it
I miss my pa's old OBS. He got it for free from a budy because it shifted weird. It was a sensor and needed a water pump. Only had like 40k and lasted forever. Up until the divorce that is.
Dude, if its the 5.7 I had that idle problem, changed a whole bunch of sensors, new fuel tank with lines and it ended up being the idle air control valve on the throttle body...super easy to take out and replace, but no i had to rebuild a whole dang engine with sensors and a whole fuel system before i found the problem. If its the 5.7 check that valve, and if you havent deleted your egr valve check that too and make sure it aint stuck open. And id probably replace the throttle control sensor along with the Idle air control sensor. Make sure your ground straps from engine to chassis aint jacked up cause that could make all these sensors act funny.
I know the name but I can’t picture him. I know who you are talking about tho. I really appreciate that man. Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment
I always chuckle when people react to 90s vehicles like they're classics... i think im getting old! Lol. To me, that's just a 'normal' vehicle. Not a classic, but not some fancy smartphone with wheels like the new stuff.
Basically a short throw shifter is a modification done to manual transmissions that reduce travel distance between shift points. Usually it's a mod that you could apply on top of the manual transmission or it would already come with it. And if you driven a manual obs it basically feels like your fist pumping and every time you're shifting.
