Marie is absolutely shining. It is the magic of LaLande at work.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
I love seeing her so happy! ❤
Yes, it makes me nervous for her; the turnaround from her low is miraculous! I am so, so happy for her. I followed her Vlogs throughout her journey and I am so relieved for her. Somehow, I am seeing a baby in her future. I believe she will be a wonderful Mom.
@@ruthblack3676Lovely. I see her more as a strong independent woman. She drives all men and woman crazy and she just doesn't give a damn about them because she is smarter and more beautiful than all of them. Who needs any kids then at all in a world like ours?
I notice Davey seems happier than usual
I guess he's getting use to everyone at LaLande. It's good to see him smiling!❤❤❤😂👍🏰😂 🌲🌲🌲🐦🍎🍎🍎
I have said it before, Le Lande is quite fortunate to have Davey involved in all aspects of its landscape. Everything he has designed so far has been quite successful. He definitely knows his profession.
Marie seems to have found her purpose in cooking. She's much more excited about it than the flower arranging. Her food always looks delicious. It's so enjoyable watching her smile and be more sure of herself.
She always did all the cooking there in the past, so it really isn't anything new. She's always done amazing well at both.
Yes....Marie seems to be ""blossoming"" and she most definitely is MULTI TALENTED too!!! She's got a down to earthness about her and is just a sweetheart! Plus, I love how she "sticks up for Philip" LOL!
The kitchen is the center of the house, so Marie is in a more social environment than in the flower room. It’s a great fit.
What happened to her former flour shop that became Philipp's junk store?
The veg garden is going to look fantastic next year. Well done, Davey, Kirsty, and Andy with the planting. X
Hope Andy comes back to visit more often!!
Having Marie back in your videos adds such a wonderful dimension to your ongoing story.
Mummy must be so happy to see how the garden is developing. When I first started to watch the Chateau Diaries she was working tirelessly and faithfully to maintain it. She set the bar high and now all the other gardeners are following in her footsteps and the Jardin D’Isabell is stunning!!! What a tribute to her. I hope she and Percy enjoyed watching this in South Africa ❤❤❤ Love to you all from Scotland 🏴
I'm glad that the garden team acknowledge that some plantings are failures and replace. We all can be more hopeful than honest about plants. The yew will be fabulous, dark and dense.
I planted a few bushes years ago and they never grew much. When I finally dug them up they were basically still in the root ball. Some of the landscapers tell you the netting will disintegrate but I say NO. The least you can do is cut most of the burlap away... Good Luck!
Hopefully they have something far more degradable in France/Europe! Because I agree with you- in the USA option, if you don't remove that stuff at least partway, in my experience, you'll end up with a root ball that grows nowhere, and a tree/bush that languishes.
@@staceyschmidt3149 And falls over in the first storm!
Kirsty's hair is giving 2005 Pride and Prejudice walking to Netherfield Park vibes and I'm absolutely here for it.
Love the garden plants and gazebo! Marie, I've never seen you so consistently happy and content. You are beautiful and flourishing. Grow where you are planted surrounded by love.
Cheers to you, my dear heart! ~Terri ❤😊
So lovely to see Marie in her element & en joie 😍
Marie always looks lovely, but somehow I feel this may be the first time we've seen her in bright red (that beautiful sweater from her mom) and the color really suits her!!
So glad Isabelle started in the garden long ago. Look how far they all have come in planting... I bet she is proud.
I can't wait for her to see it all and say, "Stephanie, it's beautiful!!!"❤❤❤
Thank goodness for Stephanie’s efforts to support the team! Going that extra mile by having hot chocolate shows just how devoted she is! 😄
Wow…the pergola! Gorgeous!
Marie, you are adorable! How can people resist giving her a big hug???
I was admiring the blue interior of that kitchen cabinet with glass doors. That was such a good choice.
Agree so much
@@juliemitchell9835 I put mine up in November. lol I love Christmas, but also need to restore some older decorations.
@@juliemitchell9835we put ours up the week after Thanksgiving in the USA usually which was this last week. Thanksgiving is the third Thursday of November.
The garden is going from strength to strength. I love the pergola with the espaliered fruit trees. ❤
I have seen trees that have been in the ground for more than 10 years and the metal cage and some of the burlap was still there. They blew over in the wind from not being rooted in well.
Same. Those apple trees are too nice to not take the time to properly plant them. And the reasoning being, "if I take it out of the bag, I'd have to make sure there were no air pockets around the root ball" is disappointing. How difficult is it to properly plant and water-in a handful of trees? But maybe it won't matter if they aren't rooted strong since they will be trellised. Fingers crossed!
Ah Marie finding a piece of equipment useful is a treasure hunt. Just realized my air fryer has a proofing setting , will try it
Love watching Davey, Andy and Kirsty working together in the garden. And I am so happy to see Marie smiling and chatting so animately on her pizza dough. She is so talented; being able to cook and do wonders with flower arrangement.😊
It was great to see the winter garden and new, beautiful plants going in! Hello to Mummy and Percy who will be very pleased with the garden additions. I miss seeing you!
Marie - your sweater is not too Christmasy! I love it! Wear it all winter! Did your mother knit that???
How fun is pizza night when you get to choose from such great toppings!! 😍🥰
I just absolutely love to see Marie so happy, La Lande is good for her xx
I used to love Stephanies channel. But it steered away from Renovation and the running of a château to becoming a lifestyle blog of shopping and cooking. I miss sundays at the château and stories she used to tell.
It's so nice to see Marie so happy and joyful! 🥰
Five years ago when you were mostly alone running the B&B and struggling to keep up with maintenance, you could not have dreamed that now you would be doing jobs like the garden pergola and the panelled salon, the jardin anglaise, the chapel restoration. What a transformation.
I remember. I just happened to think watching tonight that Garden back then was a poor redheaded step child with Isabelle coaxing and coaxing her to feel safe, compared to the bountiful Goddess she's now become providing work for many, growing food and beauty, and getting to share it all around the World the current garden and springs promise after more of Daveys master plan..! Well done all!
It is so wonderful having Marie back and love seeing the big smiles on her❤
Kirsty is so cute with her dimples. I am so excited about your garden.
Marie is shining brightly these days!!
I know we were only allowed a glimpse but I was happy to see the gazebo as I had wondered about it, It’s looking 👍 good
Marie, that outfit is SO sweet and I love it. You look cozy and happy.
Marie is adorable!!!! So happy she is back at the Chateau!
I love seeing Marie, so glad she came back, she seems so much happier, it shines through in everything she does.
The walled garden is coming along nicely, just as a point as a professional garden designer and gardener in France and Germany, the rule of leaving on the wire and burlap on trees when planting is an outdated one, it is definitely now days recommended to remove both as they hinder the root development, which is so needed here in France with these strong winds we get. Also with any bare rooted stock (Yew) roots should be placed in water before planting to rehydrate them, I just hope they got a good soaking once planted. Happy Gardening
Marie congrats. You looked all warm and comfy in your P.J.s and slippers and sweater drinking a yummy Hot chocolate. The pizza looked very yummy good job. Can't wait to see the garden in the spring when it is all in bloom. Yes those trees do look like a Skinny Christmas Tree that's how I remember its a Cyprus Tree.
Perhaps there are some climates in which the cages around the roots degrade before root girdling occurs, but it's usually best to remove them. I lost a huge tree because a cage wasn't removed and we get plenty of rain and snow.
I've seen a 5 year old tree blow over in Louisiana, and the burlap and wire cage were still completely solid. If burlap doesn't rot quickly in Louisiana soil... it's restricting plants roots a lot longer than people think. The worst part is, the excuse for not removing it was soooo weak. Air pockets around the roots? Just take a few minutes to plant the tree properly and water it in good. Easy!
You fold down the burlap and net and it should degrade in a few years, it's the way we do it in europe :)
It’s nice to see Davy planting things!👏🏻👏🏻🎄🌲🎄🌲
I love Marie in the kitchen.
Maria is a very different person.
Kitchen is now vibrant again.
Maria is very missed. She was so capable and had a lovely way about her! I cannot even describe her piano ability! Not to mention her sharp intellect! I love you both! 😍😍😍
At Mellow Mushroom pizza, you can absolutely put both tomato and pesto sauce on your pizza. It's not just a home cooking idea. lol =D What a delight seeing the gardens coming together.
Marie is just darling! Such fun at LaLande! Thanks for lifting my dreary mood today💕
Dan cuts the wire off his trees👍😏
Good for him😉
I’m rewatching the very first Chateau Christmas Diaries. If you haven’t seen them do please watch them, so fun and informative. If you have seen them years ago, watch them again and enjoy!
Me too! It’s great to go back to the early days ❤
Always an excellent choice!
Me, too!
Look up how long it takes for metal to rust away. When my 5 year old tree fell over and died the metal was still there. It was the reason the roots didn’t establish
Exactly 💯! Must be removed
I love your hair up Marie !! It looks great down too, it's grown a lot. But the airfryer is excellent for reheating pizza Marie !!
Amy from Rosiers is a wonderful unique individual. She is more than just a reminder of Hani.
Some how I always have to watch this videos twice... They are so lovely 🌹😍🌹😍
The sneak peek at the gazebo is beautiful! The apple trees are going to be lovely in the spring.
Now I'm confused on Dan's video he took off all the netting and here you don't. 🤷♀️
Always enjoyable 🦋
I think it is a slight difference of opinion between Davey and Dan. When Dan was last planting at LaLande Dan mentioned that Davey said to him to leave all the netting and wires on.
Thanks to Dan...did I just write that?....for the very perfect PERgola!!!
No mention of that or the missing philipp
Amaury and the hidden handyman also helped with the Pergola.
How wonderful just seen someone not sure who it was, gardening on their hands and knees..that's what I do...brilliant that made my day...so much easier on the back....and thank you Davey, I am about to plant 5 bare rooted fruit trees, I will definitely take care to fill around the whole root system, I will be very careful...
Guys i just googled removal of burlap and wire …they all say remove this before planting, so sorry guys . You need to get that stuff removed, do it properly so it can grow healthy and strong , Davie says nursery told him just to plant as is, incorrect info
How cute the chickens are all lined up watching the humans. They are so sweet. Stephanie, it would look so nice if you would go out one day and paint the wooden gate to the walled vegetable garden.
we all notice something different - I noticed how many jars of marmite they'd got in the cupboard.
I noticed them as well. ❤❤
@@JPRobinso That is so funny. I didn’t even notice the marmite.
Hanie and your aunt and uncle have so much fun together and there is always very good, and very large bottles of Champaigne when Hannie comes to Lalande and we all know who loves Champaigne !☺️
Marie has blossomed and grown very much. I’m so happy she is happy at LaLande.
I'm a Master Gardener in the Midwest US (heavy clay soil and plenty of rain) and we ALWAYS remove the metal cage and burlap. Trees can take 3 - 5 years to finally give up. They may not see the results of this poor planting (root girdling) for a few years.
Dailys can't be easy, and I so much appreciate them! I'm glad you're not stretching yourself doing the Chateau Diaries as well as the Christmas Diaries. Been watching since 2019 and the only thing I miss this year is the Christmas intro. There was something magical about it in years past. Appreciate you and all the LaLanders for bringing so much joy! The passion and commitment you have towards the chateau is an inspiration!
The garden is going ahead in leaps and bounds and Marie is shining in the kitchen. All is right with the world 😊
Here in California, USA, we remove the metal caging around root balls. We just don’t get wet, snowy or cold enough for the metal to deteriorate. But there in France, you have much more severe winter weather. Hopefully those gorgeous apple espalier’s will thrive.
The weather is not severe in France
Davey on yew tune ! Looking superb…
The garden is looking good. Spring it will be glorious.
Marie, you look so good. The fresh air loved ones and Lalande are doing wonders for you. Your pizza dough and toppings look so inviting. They are giving me pizza cravings.
The walled garden development is superb 💚
Your uncle is such a fashionable gentlemen!
Kristie is looking so slim these days! Awesome Job pretty lady! Love your smile!
It's great that you are getting projects finished in the garden even during winter. It's a shame you didn't make the cut flower beds larger before edging them.
Marie is glowing in the kitchen ❤❤❤The garden is really taking shape. Love it 😍😘
Tell Marie that she is so pretty with her hair up.
Pesto and purée is great together.
LOVE the pizza idea with the red and basil sauce! Brillant idea Marie. I will have anchovies as I don’t eat meat. And the garden, tres génial and yummy apple pies coming
Really loving the vlogs, especially the competitive energy between la lande and chaumont 😅
The garden will be spectacular once those apple trees bloom and the roses too under the pergola. You certainly have the A-Team with a vision. Kirsty looked beautiful at the kitchen table with her hair down. Marie's enthusiasm is wonderful and a tonic. I ❤ 🍕
The espaliered pergola is a brilliant idea. I can’t wait to see it develop in the spring. Also … the GAZEBO which we saw fleetingly is epic and perfect for the time period of the chateau. I love those. Again, I will enjoy seeing the video you will to introduce it to us in the spring. Such treats!
I love Marie’s sweater and pyjamas, too.
The garden is looking fabulous! Davey, Kirsty and the team are doing an amazing job. Marie looks beautiful in her new sweater. I think Marie’s food always look appetizing , you can tell she knows how to cook.
Oh i just got that! The air fryer is PROVING its worth, you little minx!
Don't forget the Thermomix.
The garden design is magical, Davey. Andy's smile was very distracting. Marie those pizzas looked yummy!
What did Marie just say about the air fryer???!!! That’s it. I’m getting one. Been going back and forth about this purchase ❣️👏🏻👏🏻
Red sauce with dashes of pesto is a classic in my family, known affectionately as "red-green" pizza
😂
Marie is such a sweetheart
The pergola ~ memories of Dan & Amorie building that ❤😊🇦🇺
Marie, your pizza dough and pizzas 🍕 look fantastic! The walled garden looks beautiful, I love the apple trees. Great job Davy, Kirsty and friends! Loads of love from Fla. 🌊🌞🏖️ to 🇫🇷🏰🐶🍕
Pesto and tomato sauce pizza is incredible together Extra points if you have yummy pine nuts. Enjoy pizza night!
The garden is looking beautiful! Marie is so sweet! And pizzas delicious!
The metal wire doesn't always do that I would suggest to remove that so your roots won't have to fight with that
We told them the same thing last year and they didn’t. But if you watch Dan’s latest planting videos he removes it all and soaks the plants before planting.
Wow, a weekly massage!
Haha, I like what Davy said about the wobbly tree - a drunk tree. Well, actually, you can use the apples to make some Calvados. I do this every summer, and every winter, it changes into the instant warming elixir. 🍸🔥
The music definitely helped us relax while Davey was digging, i really loved the music! Davey is so down to earth and he’s got great chill vibes❤ Great episode altogether 🙂
Pesto on tomato sauce sounds like a brilliant idea. I’m definitely going to try that.
Definitely whoville Christmas trees! They need a single red bobble on the top or wrapped with red ribbon!
Since you're using pesto on your pizzas, try this Chicago classic. Use pesto as your base sauce instead of tomato pizza sauce. Then spread what we call ground sausage on top. I imagine that's called something like ground or minced seasoned pork in the UK? And that's all. Bake it and it's one of the best flavor combos I've ever had on a pizza.
Love that. Its next level pizza.
Seeing Maria happy makes me happy ❤
The garden is looking fabulous!
If Davey's explanation about the iron mesh is accurate, it might actually be more beneficial to the fruit trees than completely removing it.
My friend's grandfather always threw in iron nails when planting fruit trees. His trees were healthy and the fruit was more delicious than the neighbor's. He swore by it.
My most valuable advice to anyone planting balled in burlap trees is to remove the wire securing the burlap around the trunk. Otherwise, in time it will choke the plant.
Idyllic! I wonder if Capability Brown's team experienced such joy creating Chatsworth and his other landscapes! Thank you for the video!
Busy, busy! So much fun watching the pizza making! ❤
So happy to finally see te gazebo structure! Thanks for giving us that snaky peak! ❤
Marie you are truly in a lovely zone - stay here dear girl😍 Happy Advent LaLanders 🌲🌲🌲
Soooo good to see Marie back happy in the kitchen 👏👏👏👏
I love Davey! ❤
Honestly, I love seeing the garden like this, but this is the first time I feel like I’ve seen the garden. Hoping, just saying it through new eyes or filming. It’s so much more beautiful. Wishing all the fruits of your labor and many more seasons to come.don’t know what y’all did, but this episode showed much more of the garden❤
The walled garden is looking stunning 💚💚💚
I love Marie so much 💙
