      Nice, you just have care for it like any potted plant and used the slow release fertilizer. Good luck. 👍

    Thanks for the video... Will the date palm burn if left in the sun while germinating or when can it be left directly in the sun?

    • @ItsJustGardening

      Its best to put in shade because you don't want to soil to dried out and the seedling will dies.

      @remix-hq3un as the plant grow if it can with stand direct sun in the pot then you can put it directly in ground. With palm it’s usually like 10 inches tall, and if your like desert I would recommend water daily.

      @@ItsJustGardeningIsn’t it odd that in nature male and female, even down to Date seeds is distinct, but some people have been fooled into thinking it doesn’t apply to humans… People are so gullible and sadly misguided. Kind of scary actually, what else will people believe?

      female leaves are soft and grows in pairs, in even order, meaning each two leaves are growing aligned facing each other, the male tree's leaves are hard and in an odd order. you can actually decide whether you want to grow it a female or male, all you have to do is wait until the the first two leaves appears from the soil like the one at the end video, take it out of soil and you will find the seed attached to it, take the seed off and the vein that attaches the seed to the stem and peel the the thin layer around stem that used to attach the seed. finally return it to the soil and you have a female date palm tree. if you are planing to make a small date palm garden make them all females and one male will be enough for all of them.

    • @Theo.s.h.
      @Theo.s.h. 5 місяців тому +2

      you will most of the times get a male tree if you didn't go through this process (this is only true when you are planting from the seeds).

      Hello, I am from Iraq, the country of palm trees. If you want to grow a palm tree from seeds, you must avoid the males and keep only the females. The method is very simple. It was invented by one of the professors at the University of Baghdad. When you grow the seeds in the container, you must first identify the seed head. The seed head is the end that is attached to the flower. You have to put a mark on it, then germinate the seed and observe the root. If the root goes towards the right, then the palm tree is male, and if it goes to the left, then the palm tree is female, but do not forget the right and left sides are determined by the seed head... (the right of the head is male, the left of the head is female). )

    Do I need a male and female only if I want to grow dates? Or also for better growth of the plant somehow? So they notice they stand next to each other or something. Like releasing hormones or scents or whatever.😅
