I love your Lotta so much! Cannot wait to see your Frocktails dress in person! It’s going to be so much fun to see you again. The lounge set is going to be super cozy and comfy. As much as I love Summer, I’m ready to move to Fall/Winter sewing and make all the cozy things. Xx
Right now I am working on Dress A Girl dresses, after that I am hoping to participate in Whitney's precious fabric challenge and the shirtwaist September challenge. Nice dress. I love the fabric!
I need to sew up precious fabric too! Don't think that will happen this month as we will be in and out and my sewing time is more limited. Other than my Frocktails Dress. I definitely want to sew my final version in something nice that I have been hanging onto.
Hi Christine, nice to see you back again 😊 Your wedding guest dress is lovely ❤ It's unfortunate that the sun cooking everyone, but I'm sure the wedding was lovely as well. I've been using my hump jumper for a couple of days now..... working on a winter coat, and that little gem will be on the desktop until I'm finished. 😬 It will be fun seeing the progress on your Frocktails dress and the little girl dresses. And I agree! bring on fall 😁 Our area near the Rockies often doesn't get the in-between seasons, so fingers crossed. Happy sewing!
Love the Lotta dress. How beautiful for a wedding. You are going to have so much fun at Frocktails! Im looking forward to seeing pictures of everyone. OMGosh that lounge set is so cute. I need that in my life!! I need to keep sewing my stash too. Its overwhelming how much fabric I really have. Alot of it is from many years ago and my taste in fabrics has changed so much in that time. I just need to donate it once and for all. Gteay vid Christine! Happy sewing❤❤❤
I FaceTimed wih Erin (@ErinSews) last night and went through my boxes of fabric and patterns to destash with her. What she wants I am sending and the rest is going to Frocktails with me. I still have one box that I am putting a time limit oon and if it does not get sewn, i am destashing. Most of the fabric was stuff purchased during the pandemic when I was not as sure about what I was getting and is in colors that don't suit me. So I have zero guilt about removing it from my stash and letting someone else enjoy it. It is a bigger waste to keep it!
Hey Christine! WOW 🤩 your wedding guest dress is fabulous and the fabric is stunning! Viscose is such a great, breathable fabric for our humid SC summers. I enjoy viscose linen blends, too. I’m toiling the Seasons of East Summer in NY dress for my son’s wedding in October. I’m not sure I’ll make it to Frocktails, but I do have a ticket in case I can get there from the NC wedding which will end just before the Charlotte event. The French Poetry Dress you’re making looks like a stunningly beautiful pattern. I haven’t seen that one. Sew with joy! 😘 I suspect you’re a wonderful sewing teacher! You seem very patient and your explanations are thorough with easy to follow instruction. You speak my Southern speed, if you get my drift. 😂
I had to laugh at speaking your speed. I have really tried to pick up my pace, but get so tongue tied when I try to speak fast while remembering points. Love the Seasons of East Pattern. And linen viscose is my favorite fabric. It feels so nice against my skin.
The pockets in your Lotta dress are genius. I’m cutting out a toile of a Style Jersey jumpsuit now and already know I want to change the pockets. They’re just inseam floppy ones so I might be taking some inspiration from you. I get very distracted in my sewing and generally don’t wrangle it it, but then some sort of (self-imposed) deadline looks and I kind of regret my dalliances into other projects…. Usually the dalliances are toddler clothes though, so I don’t get TOO far off track since those are quick and easy.
I am going to make more of an effort to put my time into doing what I enjoy. Less social media and more sewing. Also need to work on better sleep. To that end I am making a start this morning by reducing my tea consumption. Just one cup this morning 👼
Hi Christine. I love the dress you wore to the wedding. And, I like the way you did your pockets. I look forward to meeting you in Charlotte. Are you starting to feel like time is moving a little too fast like me. 🤔 I’ve still got quite a bit of sewing to do also. Also, is it okay if I DM you regarding Frocktails?
I do feel like time is flying! I had several things I thought for sure I would sew this summer and here we are in September and they remain unmade. Yes DM me please!

I love cozy weather. Probably in part because it is short. I might not like it so much if dragged on.
Your dress is very beautiful! I love all the flowers! 🌺🌹
Thank you Zelda
I love SC!!❤
All the SC love here.
