Your sloth series has really helped me. After watching your ritual video I created my own similar ritual & now allow myself to have a lie down in/on my bed every day if I need one. I’m in so much extra pain from surgery & I’ve been trying to battle through it, forcing myself to stay up & awake all day even if that only means me being able to lie on the sofa, which is a less comfortable place for me to rest. So mad really that I was feeling guilty about wanting to recuperate in bed for part of the day, like it was some how failing 🤷🏻♀️ I made an essential oil room spray rather than a loose incense so there’s no danger if I do fall asleep Taking the ritualised time out late afternoon means I’m able to be much more sociable when my husband gets home from work instead of being so at the end of my tether with pain that I can barely speak! So it’s been a win for me & a win for him 👏 I will definitely be journaling about sloth for a few weeks to come as I’ve started my journey with it at the end of your 6 weeks. And I think I will take time this year exploring the other sins as I continue to recover from surgery (& have more surgery)
I’m so glad you’ve found some (literal) comfort in it! The idea of “being productive” is so detrimental to our health & happiness. Best of luck on your recovery!! 😊
@@TeiaKennedy I think I’m going to buy an LED candle or some pretty fairy 🧚♀️ lights for the bedroom too as my husband would freak out if I took a burning candle 🕯️ in there with me in case I fall asleep 😮 I’ve put a ritual bell in there, a small bowl of salt, a hag stone & a big chunk of amethyst. So I’m sort of creating a sloth time mini altar on the windowsill next to the bed. I’m using the spare bedroom for this rather than the marriage bedroom. So I’m going to start referring to the spare room as my sloth room 😂 I’ve even got a fluffy cuddly toy sloth 🦥 in there with me to snuggle (came free with a sofa or mattress I 🤔 can’t quite remember). It’s starting to feel like my safe rejuvenation cave 😊 I’ve noticed I’m not snacking on sugary foods in the late afternoon anymore (early days yet but I hope this continues). Pretty sure I’ve been ignoring my body’s cries for rest & stuffing it with sugar instead so I can force it to keep going.
I plan on doing all the sins. Loved this challenge.❤❤❤❤
