Oh yes I remember, he was saying in an interview later when he was asked how it felt to win that game and get the best team in the league to the brink of elimination and he said that all he wanted was to end it as quickly as possible to not get into another overtime with his wife expecting to give birth anytime soon. I guess that makes this moment even more significant in the big picture.
This moment brings tears to my eyes these days. I remember this game vividly. My favorite Kobe moment in his career. He might have missed quite a bit of shots at the end of the game but oh man, when the game is on the line every true basket ball fan knows he is going to get and deep in your heart (lakers or opponents) knows he is going to MAKE THE SHOT. That is legend. Only Jordon got that kind of respect.
Larry Bird had more game winning buzzer beaters shots than Jordan. Fact! Larry Bird had a broken knuckle that didn't heal properly throughout his NBA career. This is fact as well. Larry Bird rookie season, the previous year the Celtics had the 2nd worst record in the league, with Larry as a rookie they had the best record in the league without Mchale nor Parish, they swept the Lakers in the season series and reached the East Finals. Jordan couldn't do much of an improvement on his rookie year for his team.

I said the same thing. Such a clutch shot. I remember watching live and couldn't believe what i was seeing.
Underrated ass shot bro. On God that in and out frozed him. GREATEST ONE ON ONE PLAYER EVER. A move for every occasion
Kobe Bryant is the best tough shot maker of all time. I don't care anymore and I'm a die hard Mike fan from the 90's but this guy's degree of difficulty on his 3's, layups , dunks etc is like no other. Im not saying Kobe better I'm just acknowledging his greatest!
Kobe is a poor man's copy of jordan. U kids don't what you're talking about. Kobe can't hold jordans jockstrap especially the 85 to 93 version of mj. Most of u kids weren't around then
Kobe is the best. Robbed of MVPs. Saved the ball and closed the game with a win. He wanted to win so bad..a champ and a great man till the end. Binge watching all Kobe vids
Dude dominated the league and was it's best player for a decade. 1 mvp is a joke. MVP award is a joke. Voted by "writers" lmao
@@soccerplyr8 He was never the best player lol. Duncan and LeBron were better during his prime for example.
@@Buttington_Headerson Makes sense why you have Homer Simpson as your icon picture. You're an idiot! Kobe dominated the league for a decade. You're probably 16 and play fortnite so go watch highlights on youtube kid.

@Nah creo not always
Nobody's more clutch than that man right there !!
66linny since youre already here at youtube, type in at the search bar the name "michael jordan" you should see more videos of him
@6bBorotea kobe did the same thing as jordan, except kobe makes 3s and jordan makes 2s
MrWill1729 but i mean come on man Mj is MORE CLUTCH than kobe... U dont seriously think kobe Is MORE CLUTCH right?
6bDorotea i do think kobe is more clutch
Did Kobe ever make a game winner in the NBA finals?
Lord knows how much i miss watching this man play. All-time favorite athlete. Rest Easy Mamba and Gigi
OMG I've seen this video thousands of times and never thought I'd put RIP KOBE
People die everyday..just because he was great at basketball doesnt make it any different
@@kennethhill613 bro we understand that, but when someone you loved and admired, and someone that gave you inspiration to be the best version of yourself..passes away, I think people have a right to feel sad and reflect on what he meant to them. You didn't have to point that out.
i can spend a whole day wtaching his highlights and still loving every moment of it. u will be missed Mamba
The memories man. Shit doesn’t feel real bros.
This is probably a top 10 moment for me as a Laker fan. In 2006, we failed to win the series but this one is really memorable.
That was a really good series
I grew up in Inglewood, on Osage Ave off of Manchester, literally a block from the Forum. I got the very tail end of the showtime era, and the Lakers still played at the Forum for a few more years including Kobe's first three seasons. I can't express how emotional I get watching these old clips, I was a young teen and I recalling the pride I had and still retain in the Lakers.
No matter what happens, I am a die hard Lakers fan. Magic, Kareem, Shaq, and Kobe all contributed to the best memories I have of my team.
Kobe united LA forreal 🙏🏾
Who's here after Kobe died...😪 R.I.P LEGEND
Here
I was here before now I’m here after too me he’s a legend legends never die for ever Kobe will be in the worlds heart ❤️ because of him I have the “mamba” mentality 💯🙌🏽💪🏽
This game is the first thing I think of when I hear "kobe". I'm tearing up watching this. It just heartbreaking for someone this inspirational to be gone in the blink of an eye. Prayers out to his Wife, his daughter, the pilot, the other two aboard, and everybody else involved💜💛
while of course this shot is iconic, the commentary is one of the best ever. the way Mike Breen gets excited when he says "ball knocked away stolen by Parker" gives you that feeling that something exciting is about to happen.
and then the rest is history. Mike Breen is a living legend for that bang
100%. Dude is very good at his job.
This is probably the only sports clip on UA-cam from 2006 that's in HD. Everything else from 2006 look's like it was recorded with a potato.
No truer statement
Oh shit your right, HD was on almost every game in 06, so I never understand why most highlights from that era looked like mud.
yea all like 240p 😂
This is not even HD. It's normal D. This is the D that I saw in 2006 cause I watched this game Live!
+Heat Lugo you seem to comfortable taking bout D's
How can anyone not like this dude? He did stuff for the community, fans, families, kids, etc. Kobe was and will always be loved by everyone. #LAKERSNATION #8 #24 #MAMBAOUT. WE LOVE YOU KOBE!!!!!
dude these like 5 years, lakers and the suns were the biggest rivals. Its crazy when ever they played
We kicked the Suns ass all the time
Wes m except this series LOL
LCRNGaming lol true that
Dat Kobe Fan the artest shot in 2010 ill never forget that
Dat Kobe Fan KOBE!!!!!!!
the energy in that arena just aint the same anymore since you left RIP KOBE
also Jeanie raising the prices so only rich aholes that don't care about basketball and just wanna post selfies of themselves at the game for social media SMH
That awkward moment when an 06 video have higher a quality than most of the vids nowadays.
Not better than quality nowadays your smoking but its great quality in this video
Isaiah Armand it’s literally the exact same quality, 1080p resolution, 1920x1080 pixels. HD has been around a looong time, first MLB game in HD was in 1998. 4K TV is juuust now starting as NBA has only a few 4K games a month now, all on directv with a special box.
Why do you act surprised? You acting like 2006 supposed to be in black and white lmao
@@1ZosoLZ nope
UA-cam didn't allow hd back then I guess a 2008 upload made the cut for some hd while ,1080p is rare back then too.
This was the day i fell in love with basketball, this was the day i idolized a man, this was the day,as a 10 years old kid, that made me start playing basketball at my local team.
All thanks to you.All thanks to my idol. Not only sports idol, but something much, much bigger than just this.
The 1/26/2020,hurted me and so many others around the world and especially at ages between 20-35.And the craziest thing? We didn't even know him,but i felt like i lost a family member.
This wound will never be healed, till the day i die as well like everyone.
I will never forget you.Thank you.For everything.
One of your biggest fans from Greece.
A memory from my childhood where I will NEVER forget where I was and who I was with. The amount of happiness and joy that this stranger brought into my childhood will never be forgotten
I keep coming back to this video over and over again because it is so intense. Hard to believe that today, its already 2 years since he passed
and now, its almost been another year. incredible how time flies
Bro I'm still messed up over this man's death.
Willie Stewart Likewise my dude!
We all are 😞
Same
I feel ya my brother, everyday i think about it
Willie Stewart I’m saying man. Like I would understand if it was a illness or old age but a helicopter crash is just tragic.
Rest In Peace to this legend😭 I remember watching this game and being so happy when this happened. Every time I watched highlights of it afterwards I’d tear up in excitement. Such a wildly exciting ball player
My all time favorite Kobe moment. #thankyoukobe
that shot was so iconic to me as a kid. RIP Kobe 8/24
I cried watching this video. Such a beauitful moment. Kobe is and will forever be my favorite player. I don't know how I'm going to continue to watch basketball when he is gone.
wanted to say something found your..
I feel the same way dog i havent watched a full NBA game since April 2016.....

you can clearly see it there, Phil overwhelmed by emotions.....
Yea lol Phill and Pop never show emotions.
I think he was like really because they still reviewed it when Kobe clearly got it off on time
He was looking at the monitor to see if he got it off in time.
that remind him of Jordan
Phil saw that before lol back in Chicago there was a guy worn #23 used to do that ~
This game I will remember for the rest of my life. Thank you Kobe.
Happy Belated birthday, Mamba.

Anyone came here after Kobe's announcement on his retirement? This is Legendary, #8 best moment IMO.
Lemuel Falcon he lost this series
Lemuel Falcon and now his death 😭
Here bc he’s gone now. :(
Lets Appreciate Smush Parker's steal a little more, he deserve just as much credit as kobe did. Without the steal won't be a shot for kobe to make.
This isnt possible without the GOAT Smush Parker
dont forget kwame brown
And the top dog of em all.... Luke Dukey Walton!
@@MrUrkel0730 Luke is better than Smush, Kwame and Chris Mihm. He was a legit rotation guy before his back exploded.
I remember watching this Sunday afternoon… I was jumping for joy when it went to ot and that last shot! Mannn memories! Rip KB24
Hours after this legendary game, Gianna was born. RIP to both of them. 😢💔
RIP Kobe, I was a young boy when I watched this game, seeing Kobe not quit taught me a lot watching this. You were the best.
Moments like these are why the NBA playoffs are truly spectacular. I miss watching the Lakers vs Suns play, always made such good games to watch.
This moment brings tears to my eyes these days. I remember this game vividly. My favorite Kobe moment in his career.
This moment resonated with me coming back to my family again during the “final seconds” when my family needed me in their life again.
Thank God for Kobe to teach me to utilize the Mamba mentality in life.
awww man watching this again brings tears to my eyes... KOBE man! he always had help along the way (same for any great) but when his team gave him the slightest chance to win KOBE delivered and sealed the game. A TRUE WINNER!
Even if they lost this series, this was one of my best and happiest memories. I remember screaming with my aunt watching this jumping up and down. Thank you for this moment, Kobe!!❤️ and thank you for everything! RIP
My most memorable kobe moment 😢😢 I was 13 but I still remember it like it was yesterday
I was 8
I remember jumping up and down in my room when I saw this game. Moments like these you remember clear as day! KOBE forever!!!!!
I'm very sad that hear his news. I love him for ever. From JPAN.
this guy just made me cry again what a Legend
I have seen this video like 3000 times
I still get chills watching this. I remember watching this live. Rip kobe!
Man Kobe should've gotten MVP that season and the Lakers should of beaten the suns
yep!!
Yeah if it wasn't for that bullshit rape case he woulda won by a mile
+King Chen Rape case doesn't matter because Lebron was still ahead of him in the MVP race. He had better stats and better record. Lebron(31.4, 7.0, 6.6, 48%FG, 50 wins) Kobe(35.4, 5.3, 4.5, 45%FG, 45 wins)
+Jesus Walks Well just look at the Lakers roster it was on of the worst they ever had (except Kobe of course)
+MrBrenman21 well the suns was suppose to win , Kobe had Smush Parker , kwame brown and Chris mimh you expect them to beat the Suns ? Number 2 seed ? Kwame brown? Kwame brown
One of the first games I watched as a kid that made me fall in love with basketball, mamba forever
The stutter move he put on Raja Bell and degree of difficulty on the regulation shot was just spectacular !
I’ll never forget Tim Thomas’s reaction. He played his ass off that game. Rip Kobe.
Tim Thomas would soon have his revenge in game #6
That moment will definitely go down as one of those top 10 plays we'll look at once Kobe retires.

Theo Hanna lmfao this nigga hilarious
This is the first play you think of when you think of Kobe RIP TO THE GOAT
“Bryant for the win...BANG!” Man I was too young to appreciate how good that line is. Miss the goat man 😔💜💛 hope we get to see another player close to his playstyle again
