I am a Native American Apache (Chiricahua/Mescalero). Seeing the Beautiful Artwork sent to Denzel & Atlanta brought a tear to my eye. Bruce must have a great liking to your children? The amount of work that went into those pieces is extreme! Each one of those would sell for $200-$400 dollars U.S. That goes to show how much you guys are loved! A’HO! Cracker Jacks is a very old candy around the late 1800's. It was big at baseball games and included in the song written in 1909. Here's part of the lyrics: Take me out to the ballgame,
Take me out with the crowd
Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks
I don't care if I never get back,
Let me root, root, root for the home team,
    If they don't win it's a shame
'Cause it's one, two, three strikes your out
    At the old ball game
So nice of you Bruce to send those terrific homemade gifts!

Whoppers, Milk Duds, Salt Water Taffy, Turtles, and Cracker Jacks, the person who sent this stuff knows good candy lol. Then again, maybe it is an "Indian" thing lol.

While I like almonds, I like dark chocolate better than milk chocolate. I think I prefer Mounds. Dark chocolate, and coconuts. I know people who can’t stand coconuts.

Chewy Whoppers are usually a sign that they have gone stale. The inside should be chalky, not chewy. If you bite one in half the center should disolve. You may have left those sitting around a bit too long and as the milk duds indicate the temperature may have been a bit rough on it as well.
And yes, Almond Joy and Mounds are made by the same company. Often advertised together. Because "sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't. Almond Joy has nuts... Mounds Don't."

Actually the old jingle for their commercials because the company that made them is called Peter Paul went like this. "Peter Paul Almond Joy's got nuts, Peter Paul Mounds don't, Sometimes you feel like a nut and sometimes you don't."
The only difference between a Mounds bar and an Almond Joy is the almond so I am not sure why they liked the Mounds so much more than the Almond Joy except that maybe as a result of travel time in international post maybe the Almond Joy were closer to their expiration date?

Jujyfruits were originally made in NJ by the Heide Candy Company, my grandmother, whom I never met her since she died years before I was born, work for them. My dad as a teen escorted her to deliver candy to a TV show in NYC (The Dorsey Brothers Stage Show) where my dad got to meet a very young Elvis Presley, he apparently loved their candy and had someone send notice. She also knew one of the pilots, Robert A. Lewis of the Boeing B-29 Superfortress bomber Enola Gay, (they dropped the A bomb on Hiroshima in 1945) who also worked for the company as a manager after he left the military.

I am glad that FINALLY you all started receiving gifts from the other cultures of the U.S. so you can realize how incredible our diversity is here and why that same diversity is the very strength of our nation. I hope you continue to receive more gifts like this and I also hope that when you do come and visit, you will make sure to seek out the various cultural events and gatherings we have here. I most certainly hope that will include several Pow-Wows and talking with our Native American brothers and sisters.

They really were. I'm from Bristol Bay Alaska, home of the Yupik people. I've been wanting to send them some Alaska Native specialties, but most wouldn't handle the trip. I could send them some canned salmon and moose, but it looks rather unappetizing just in the jar and would need to be prepared for eating. Our clothing items are a bit too warm for their climate. LOL Plus, I'm not sure how they would feel about fur.

@@msdarby515 pretty cool I would say. How about sending tribal totems, jewelry, items blessed by shamans or medicine women? Maybe some bone carved items or books regarding Native history? Maybe someone from a local or regional tribal center could send them some cool Native swag? Still, great stuff there! I am impressed.

@@justafreethinker They’re not for style they have significant meaning and we don’t really have shamans they’re medicine women/men and they don’t be giving out that stuff like it’s prescription medicine. If anything when non native people want to reap our culture or want to pretend like they’re a part of us we sell them some stuff and pretend they’re sacred. I myself as a kid sold a bag of sand to some white people thinking it was sacred.

I'm so glad that there is some representation of our indigenous people, the Native Americans. Their leathercrafting and beadwork are the best in the world. Their culture is interesting and teaches respect for the land and all of nature. At one time in North America, there were 500 nations of Native people. I was so blessed to have Native people in my life. My roommate at boarding school was an Oneida Indian. And when my husband was in the Army, he recruited out of Pine Ridge and the Rosebud Reservations in South Dakota which have the largest concentration of Lakota and Oglala Sioux people in the U.S. I wish more Americans had the privilege of knowing this country's greatest treasure.
